Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — The Traitor's Wedding
"Then why didn't you say it first? The guests have already arrived, what kind of formality do you have to wear like this?" I raised my eyes. "Is it important to look like a bride or not?" Co Thoi Viet was speechless when asked by me. Lam Van Chi quickly stepped forward to mediate. "Thi Viet, don't blame Niem Niem. She's having a hard time after giving birth, she's definitely not in the mood to wear makeup." "Today I'll help you save face." She said "help you", not "help you two". Co Thoi Viet couldn't hear it. Or maybe he heard it, but felt it wasn't important. Before the ceremony began, the person in charge of the wedding planning company stepped in to confirm the process. He looked at me, a bit hesitant. "Ms. On, confirm that you will follow the final version you approved?" Co Thoi Viet immediately raised his head. "What final version?" I calmly said: "I have corrected a few processes." He was dissatisfied. "Why don't you discuss with me?" I looked at him. "Didn't you say that a lot of things only need Lam Van Chi's help?" Co Thoi Viet's face darkened. "On Niem, Today is your first birthday, it's also our wedding. Don't talk sarcastically at this time." Lam Van Chi gently pulled his sleeve. "Don't argue, today is a happy day." Her mouth advised, but her hand still did not let go. My mother stood behind me, coldly looking at the two of them. Lawyer Tran Nghien was next to him, pushing his glasses, his voice was very low. "The documents are all brought." I nodded. "It's been hard." Co Thoi Viet noticed Tran Nghien, his eyebrows furrowed even deeper. "Who is he?" I said: "Friend." Co Thoi Viet looked like he had been stabbed. "What kind of friend needs to go to the break room?" Before I could answer, the host outside started to stir up the atmosphere. The guests' applause rang out. Co Thoi Viet could only temporarily suppress his doubts. He walked to the door and turned to look at me again. "On Niem, no matter what trouble you want to cause, wait until today and then talk." "Don't make me lose face in front of relatives and friends." I looked at him. Suddenly felt funny. It turns out he also knows what it means to lose face. So when I lie on the stroller, watching him hug Lam Van Chi, what do I count? Before being pushed into the delivery room, I was in so much pain that I had to sign my name. What does that count? After giving birth, I wanted to drink a sip of water, but he went to buy a hot drink for Lam Van Chi, what does that count? He didn't care about my awkwardness. Only care about your face. The light went dark. Music rang out in the banquet room. The big screen slowly lit up. All the guests raised their heads. Co Thoi Viet also followed everyone's eyes. The next second, the blood on his face disappeared little by little. A clear line of text appeared on the screen. 5 Groom: Co Thoi Viet. Bride: Lam Van Chi. The entire banquet room immediately exploded. Whispers and whispers came from all directions like a tidal wave. At first, Lam Van Chi was stunned. Right then, her eyes flashed uncontrollably. Very fast. So fast that only I could see it. She thought I had admitted defeat. Supposedly I finally ceded the position to her. Co Thoi Viet suddenly turned his head to look at me, his voice also changed. "On Niem, what are you doing?" I hugged An An, step by step walking out of the bedroom door. No wedding dress. No wedding flowers. Just a black suit and my daughter sleeping soundly in my arms. I stood under the stage, looking at him. "Don't you always feel like she needs you more than me?" "Today I will complete it for you." Co Thoi Viet strode towards me. "Don't make trouble, immediately tell people to turn it off!" As soon as he raised his hand, Tran Nghien blocked me in front of me. "Brother Co, this is a public place, please pay attention." Co Thoi Viet was angry.
angry. "What are you?" Tran Nghien calmly handed out his business card. "Miss On's representative lawyer." As soon as the sentence ended, Co Thoi Viet completely stiffened. The images on the big screen had already begun to play. The first segment is the indoor surveillance camera. Three fifteen in the morning. I held my stomach and sat up, the bed sheet was wet. My name is Co Thoi Viet. He touched his phone, didn't turn on the light, but opened the messaging app first. The sound was magnified. "Van Chi, Niem Niem is about to give birth." Immediately followed by Lam Van Chi's soft, panicked voice: "Don't rush, tell her to hold on for a moment, I will come right away to be with you two." The image switched to the bedroom. Co Thoi Viet went into the bathroom to wash his face, change his shirt, and fix his hair. And I sat by the bed, in so much pain that I couldn't straighten my back. In the row of guests, someone took a deep breath. Co Thoi Viet panicked. "It's not like that. I was just too stressed at that time so I wanted another person to help." No one answered. The second part is the dashboard camera in the car. I curled up in the back seat, my forehead covered in sweat. Co Thoi Viet placed the phone in the front row. On the screen, Lam Van Chi was wearing a nightgown, crying and asking: "Is it inappropriate for me to wear this to the hospital?"
