Chapter 5 — Thien Kim Half Wonton

To Van Tinh's smile gradually faded. I keep saying:

“After eating, she turned around and rolled down the stairs, saying I put something in the soup that made her dizzy.”

Tham Hoai Xuyen's face changed.

“What did you say?”

I looked at him.

“Have you forgotten?”

"That day you threw a whole pot of wontons on me, saying that even a bowl of wontons I wanted to use to harm someone."

The guests' laughter stopped. To Van Tinh squeezed the bouquet of flowers, her voice softened:

"Tri Duong, today is my wedding. Do you have to repeat these things?"

I put the bowl in front of her.

“Eat.”

Chu Nghien Le stood in front of her.

“Tham Tri Duong, don't force her.”

I said:

“It's okay not to eat.”

I took out a small sealed bag from the bottom compartment of the cooler. Inside is a yellowed test result card.

"That year's bowl of soup, the kitchen aunt in the house secretly kept some of it. Her daughter worked in the hospital so she helped me test it."

Tham Hoai Xuyen stared at the bag.

“Why do you have this?”

I burst out laughing.

“Because she didn't believe I would harm anyone.”

“There are so many people in the Tham family, in the end only one outsider believed me.”

Luc Dinh Nghien reached out to take the paper. I avoid it. To Van Tinh suddenly spoke:

“What can a piece of paper of unknown origin prove?”

I looked at her. Her gentle shell was about to fail.

"Tri Duong, I know you hate me. But today there are so many guests, is it too much for you to bring a fake thing to ruin my wedding?"

Tham Hoai Xuyen looked at me. He began to hesitate again. Chu Nghien Le directly grabbed the sealed bag, took a look and then laughed coldly.

"Things from three years ago, just brought out now? Do you think we will believe it?"

He threw the bag into the champagne tower next to him. The paper was wet with alcohol. I don't prevent it. Because this sheet is just a copy. To Van Tinh breathed a sigh of relief. Tham Hoai Xuyen said in a deep voice:

"Tri Duong, stop here. If you agree to stay and drink a glass of wine to celebrate, I will have someone arrange a seat for you. If you continue to cause trouble, I can only tell the bodyguards to invite you out."

I asked:

“Is the director of the sanatorium here yet?”

There was laughter outside the door.

"Miss Tham still remembers me, it's hard to come by."

A middle-aged man walked in. The suit was tight, the big belly pushed the buttons as if they were about to burst. Director Ton. That year, he held the diagnosis paper and said to my brother:

“Miss Tham suffers from severe paranoia and tends to attack others, requiring closed treatment.”

When I was pinned on the injection bed, he stood outside the door calling.

"General Manager Tham, don't worry, I know the dosage."

Now, he smiled and looked at me.

“Miss Tham recovered very well.”

I said:

“Thanks to your blessing, I have not been cured to death by you.”

The smile on his face was unbearable. Tham Hoai Xuyen warned me:

“Tri Duong.”

Principal Ton waved his hand.

"It's okay. It's normal for patients to resent doctors."

I looked at him.

“Director Ton, from whom did you receive money three years ago?”

His face darkened.

"Miss Tham, slandering others must be held responsible."

“Do you dare to make it public? say I'm really crazy?

“Her medical records are still at the hospital.”

“Records can be edited, but what about people?”

His eyes flashed. I looked towards the door. A woman wearing a gray coat was standing outside the door, her hands clutching the handle of her bag, not daring to enter. That was the nurse who gave me medicine that year, Trieu Man. Life appeared on Luc Dinh Nghien's face for the first time.

“Trieu Man, come in.”

Trieu Man walked two steps forward and then stopped. Director Ton stared at her.

“What are you doing here? She has been fired from the hospital.”

Trieu Man's voice is very small.

“Director, I don't want to keep hiding it from you anymore.”

A petal in To Van Tinh's wedding bouquet fell. Director Ton immediately scolded:

“What nonsense are you talking about?”

Trieu Man took out an old notebook from his pocket.

“I wrote down what medicine Ms. Tham took every day and how much dosage it was.”

I looked at that notebook. I used to think I no longer felt pain. It turns out that there are things that just need to be displayed before your eyes, and they can still evoke the coldness hidden deep in your bones. Tham Hoai Xuyen quickly walked over, picked up the book and opened it. Just looking at the first page, his expression changed.

“Who approved this dosage?”

Trieu Man looked at Principal Ton. Director Ton wiped his sweat.

“This is the need for treatment.”

Trieu Man raised his voice:

“Not treatment. When Ms. Tham was brought in, she was completely conscious. Every day she said she didn't push people and wanted to meet her father's lawyer. You guys didn't let her see you, and even forced us to increase the medicine so she couldn't talk."

In the crowd of guests, someone inhaled a cold breath. To Van Tinh quickly said:

“Nurse Trieu, are you remembering wrong? At that time, Tri Duong's emotions were very unstable."

Trieu Man looked at her.

“Miss To, you have been to the sanatorium three times.”

To Van Tinh's face turned pale. Chu Nghien Le frowned.

“What's the problem with Van Tinh coming to visit her?”

Trieu Man said:

“The first time, she stood outside the door and asked Ms. Tham if she still wanted to rob her. The second time, she brought Mr. Tham's pocket watch to show her. The third time, she said that as long as she admitted her mistake, she would tell the dean to give her one less injection."

Chu Nghien Le turned his head to look at To Van Tinh.

“Is what she said true?”

To Van Tinh's tears immediately fell.

“I don't do it. Nghien Le, please believe me. I just love Tri Duong so I want to advise her to get good treatment."

Principal Ton also shouted:

“A nurse has been fired, can she be trusted?”

Trieu Man was shouted at so much that he backed away. I reached out to help her. She looked at me, gritted her teeth and said:

“I still have the recording.”

The hall immediately had no one left to speak. She took out an old tape recorder from her pocket. Director Ton rushed forward to rob him. Luc Dinh Nghien stood in front of him. The recorder was turned on, the sound of electricity echoed softly. Then came To Van Tinh's voice.

“The dose is a little heavier. She endured it so well.”

Next was Principal Ton's voice.

“If it gets any worse, something will happen.”

To Van Tinh burst out laughing.

“Isn't it better if something happens? She's dead, everyone is at peace."

Chu Nghien Le stepped back one step step, crashing the champagne tower. Broken glass covered the ground. The notebook in Tham Hoai Xuyen's hand fell.
