Chapter 12
Chapter 12 — Thirty Years Later, We Brought Mom Home
"Return it? Do you really think you're on the side of justice? You just came back for revenge!"
I nodded. The expression on his face immediately stiffened. I calmly said:
"I came back to take revenge."
The whole hallway fell silent. I continued:
"But I take revenge with evidence, with the law, with the signatures that you once wrote."
Tri Dao gave him a file of documents.
"In addition, this is a letter from a lawyer. For the acts of secretly taking photos, slandering and intentionally leading public opinion to attack us, we will file a separate lawsuit to pursue responsibility."
Tham Gia Thu clenched the documents, his fingers trembling. At that moment, the hospital room door opened. Hua Hoanh Vien sat in a wheelchair and was pushed out by Tri Chau. He recovered faster than expected. Although speaking is still slow, pronunciation is still possible. As soon as he saw him, Tham Gia Thu immediately rushed forward.
"Dad! Look what they forced my mother into!"
Hua Hoanh Vien slowly raised his eyes. His lips trembled.
"Gia... Thu..."
Tham Gia Thu immediately bent down.
"Dad, it's me."
Hua Hoanh Vien looked at him.
"That... house..."
"No... not mine."
The expression on Tham Gia Thu's face seemed to crack little by little. Hua Hoanh Vien turned to look at me again.
"Tomorrow... tomorrow..."
"Dad... will testify."
Tham Gia Thu took a step back.
"Are you crazy, Dad?"
Hua Hoanh Vien closed his eyes.
"It's... their fault."
Tham Gia Thu suddenly turned around and rushed out of the hallway. Tri Chau intended to chase. I raised my hand to stop her.
"No need."
At eleven o'clock at night, the hospital nurse called me.
"Miss Hua, Mr. Hua is missing!"
I jumped up. The nurse's voice trembled.
"The surveillance camera recorded... Tham Gia Thu pushed him out!"
When we ran to the hospital, the entire hallway was in chaos. The nurse's face turned pale.
"I just went to the nurse's station to get some medicine for a moment, but when I came back, he was gone."
Tri Chau immediately requested to extract surveillance cameras. On the screen, Tham Gia Thu wore a mask and pushed the wheelchair into the elevator. Hua Hoanh Vien sat sideways in the wheelchair, still covered with a hospital blanket. Display time is 10 hours 42 minutes. Tri Dao immediately reported to the police. And I called Tham Gia Thu. The bell rang five times before he answered the phone. The sound of wind sounded on the other end of the line.
"Where did you take him?"
He laughed.
"Don't you want him to testify? I'll bring him to his senses."
My voice turned cold.
"Shen Jiashu, he is a patient."
"Now you know he's a patient? So why didn't you remember when you forced him?"
I don't argue with him. He didn't answer. I changed my voice.
"Do you still want to keep your company?"
The other end of the line immediately went silent. I continued:
"Now when I bring people back, I only prosecute property matters and slander."
"If you continue to delay, I will add additional charges of detention and illegal restriction of the patient's physical freedom. Tri Dao will make you pay the price before the law."
Tham Gia Thu's breathing became heavy.
"You're scaring me."
Tri Dao picked up the phone.
"Not a threat."
"A record of receiving the police report has been prepared."
"Surveillance cameras, nurses' statements and medical records, us are fully available."
A few seconds later, Tham Gia Thu cursed.
"...Underground parking lot of Van Giang Cong Quan."
We immediately ran over. Hua Hoanh Vien is sitting in the back seat of the car. His face was gray. Purple lips. Tri Chau rushed to check.
"Call an ambulance now!"
Tham Gia Thu stood next to her, her hair disheveled.
"I didn't intend to harm him. I just want him to tell the truth, don't let you guys fool me."
I raised my hand. A slap landed directly on his face. The sound echoed throughout the basement. The space immediately fell into silence. Tham Gia Thu covered his face, not daring to believe it.
"You dare hit me?"
I looked straight at him.
"From the moment you touch a patient, you have to think about the consequences."
He was about to rush forward. But was restrained by security guards. The ambulance quickly arrived. Hua Hoanh Vien was taken back to the hospital. After two hours of emergency treatment, the condition finally stabilized. Three o'clock in the morning. Tri Chau walked out of the emergency room.
"It's temporarily no longer dangerous, but we absolutely cannot let him be agitated any longer."
I sat on the bench in the hallway. His palms were cold and sweaty. I hate Hua Hoanh Vien. But I don't want you to die by Tham Gia Thu's hands.
