Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — When I Stop Being Invisible
Tham Dich knocked on the door and entered.
“Are you done watching yet?”
"Done."
“Do you have a plan?”
"Okay. Originally, the system was built by me, disassembled and repackaged once and that's it."
I stopped for a moment.
“But there's a problem.”
“Whether Hang Vien can be deployed or not… depends on Chu Han.”
“If he does not leave, the plan will not be applicable in practice.”
“Because his management thinking and the operating logic I built… are completely contradictory.”
“He wants to centralize power.”
“And my system… is based on distributed coordination.”
Tham Dich thought for a moment.
"We cannot interfere in this matter. We are only responsible for handing over the plan."
"I know."
It took me a week to write the plan, and the handover documents totaled sixty-eight pages. After Tham Dich finished reading, he sat quietly in the office for ten minutes without saying a word. Finally he let out a sentence.
“To Van, is this worth eighty million?”
“Isn't it worth it?”
“Worth eight million.”
"That's a matter for later. Just build your reputation first."
The day the Hang Vien project officially started, I didn't come. Vu Tieu Man appeared on my behalf. But that night, the girl called me, her voice extremely excited.
“Sister To, your plan makes Hang Vien's people feel dumbfounded.”
"After reading Tran Loi, he said, why is this plan written as if someone knows Hang Vien's internal affairs, every node of the process is extremely precise? Ms. Trieu even directly asked if we had to install people inside."
“What do you answer?”
“I said this is the basic level of my professional consulting company.”
“How did Chu Han react?”
Vu Tieu Man was silent for a moment.
"Chu Han did not attend the kick-off meeting. I heard that he took a leave of absence that day."
“Please leave?”
"Tran Loi secretly told me that Chu Han and boss Ha have been very tense lately. Boss Ha wants to promote management optimization, and Chu Han feels like he's slapping him in the face."
I put down the phone. The night outside the window was pitch black. Chu Han, when you fired me, you certainly never thought about today. But I have no intention of taking revenge on you. It's just that whatever has to happen will naturally happen. Hang Vien's project was deployed until the third week when something happened. Vu Tieu Man texted me: "Sister To, Chu Han just publicly denied my plan right in the meeting in front of customers."
“What point is denied?”
"He said his plan was too dependent on manual coordination between people, did not use digital systems, and was not consistent with modern management trends. He wanted to bring in a company called Linh Hang Technology to do digital transformation."
Linh Hang Technology. I immediately searched. The company has been established for less than two years, the owner's name is Han Dao, and he previously worked with Chu Han. I called Tham Dich.
“Boss Tham, what is the relationship between Linh Hang Technology and Chu Han?”
"I've checked. Han Dao is Chu Han's old colleague, the two are very close. If this project falls into Linh Hang's hands, guess how much they quote?"
"How much?"
"Three million. System software alone, not including actual deployment."
I laughed coldly.
"A company that's only been open for two years dares to quote three million for a digital transformation project? The product is unproven yet you dare to receive?"
“So this is a problem.”
“Does Ha Kien Quoc know?”
“My boss Ha does not have a direct contact channel. And you do.”
I thought for a moment.
“No, I didn't show up. Just let things develop a little more.”
“To Van, doing so might lose the project.”
“It's not lost. Even if Chu Han pulls Linh Hang in, a plan that cannot be implemented in reality will eventually return to us no matter how much money is burned. Do you believe it?”
Tham Dich was silent for a moment.
“You're really calm.”
“I have been observing their decision making for twelve years. Which plans can be implemented, which plans are only on PPT... I understand better than they do."
Everything happened exactly as I predicted. A week later, Ha Kien Quoc decided to run two plans in parallel - Thuy Hoa's operational optimization plan and Linh Hang's digitalization plan deployed at the same time. Chu Han won half. But it's only temporary. In the first month of parallel operation, Linh Hang's system was put into use. Very nice interface, many features, staff training organization took three days. Then problems started to arise. Tran Loi called Vu Tieu Man: "Manager Vu, I can't use Linh Hang's system."
