Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — 6.6 The Ultimate Bad Thing Of A Marriage
I picked up the phone. His voice was much hoarse than before.
"Are you satisfied now?"
"Thanh Thanh called me while crying."
"He said I ruined his marriage."
I replied lightly:
"I still have the strength to scold people."
"It seems like we can't die for now."
Tham Nghien gasped.
"My mother has gone looking for you."
"You better not provoke her anymore."
I raised my head and looked out the door. The outside is transparent glass. Trieu Que Phuong is standing there. Carry a thermos in hand. His face was so unsightly that he wanted to smash the whole store. Just walked in. Trieu Que Phuong immediately threw the thermos onto the ground. Hot soup splashed onto the door mat. Oil streaks quickly seeped into the gray pattern.
"You get out of here for me!"
Hua Dao immediately went around the counter.
"This is a store, not your kitchen."
"If something is damaged, you must compensate at the price."
Trieu Que Phuong pointed straight at me.
"You left my son at the hospital."
"And ruined Thanh Thanh's marriage."
"Do you still have the face to sit here?"
I brushed off the ceramic dust from my hands.
"Your son can go find Tham Tinh and ask for money."
"Your daughter can also pay me back 900,000 yuan."
"The money was given by Tham Nghien himself."
Trieu Que Phuong shouted louder.
"On what basis do you base your claim?"
"Most of that money is my salary."
She smiled coldly.
"Your salary?"
"You have married into the Tham family."
"Even your personality belongs to the Tham family."
Outside the door, people began to gather to watch the excitement. Hua Dao was so angry that he was shaking. But I raised my hand to stop her. Trieu Que Phuong saw someone watching. Immediately changed to crying voice.
"Everyone come and help me arbitrate."
"My son is in the hospital waiting for surgery."
"And a wife like her sees death and can't be saved."
"Even forced my brother-in-law to cancel the marriage."
A neighboring shopkeeper wearing an apron asked:
"So why doesn't your son have money for surgery?"
Trieu Que Phuong immediately choked up. A few seconds later he stammered:
"The money in the house... is circulating and has not yet returned."
Hua Dao immediately responded.
"Turned into your daughter's new house."
"900,000 yuan."
"Not even a penny left."
The crowd immediately stirred. Everyone's face changed. Trieu Que Phuong panicked. She rushed forward and tried to steal the phone from my hand.
"Stop using these things to fool people!"
I took a step back. She missed. The whole person crashed into the desk. On the edge of the table. A white enamel vase that was in the process of being restored shook violently. Then fell to the ground. The vase broke into three pieces. Hua Dao's face immediately changed.
"Do you know how much this vase is worth?"
Trieu Que Phuong raised his neck.
"It's just a torn vase."
"Who are you trying to fool?"
Suddenly someone spoke up outside:
"Isn't that an exhibit that Van Dao Quan brought for restoration?"
"I remember seeing it on the news last time."
The expression on Trieu Que Phuong's face paused. I squatted down. Carefully pick up each broken piece. Hua Dao's voice trembled:
"Lam Van..."
"This vase must be delivered tomorrow."
"The museum specifically wants you to restore it."
"Now it's broken again..."
"Is there still time?"
I don't answer. Just quietly place each piece of porcelain on the soft cloth. Hearing the words 'museum', Trieu Que Phuong's eyes widened That is, turn around.
"Don't try to scare me."
"If you're really that good..."
"So why even open this tattered store?"
I raised my head to look at her. His eyes were cold as ice. Just say one word:
"Compensation."
Trieu Que Phuong was stunned. Then burst out laughing as if he had just heard the most ridiculous thing in the world.
"Make me compensate?"
Trieu Que Phuong seemed to hear a joke.
"My son is still in the hospital!"
"You pay me for my son's life first!"
I gave the phone to Hua Dao.
"Report the police."
Trieu Que Phuong's crying immediately stopped.
"Do you dare to report your mother-in-law to the police?"
I calmly replied:
"If you damage someone else's things, you have to compensate."
"Your son voluntarily transferred the couple's shared savings and must return it."
Trieu Que Phuong rushed forward and tried to hit me. But the hand had not yet come down. A cold male voice rang out from the door.
"Stop."
Assistant Tran stood at the door. Behind him were two people wearing dark coats. When he saw the broken pieces of the white enamel vase on the ground, his expression immediately changed.
"Is this the artifact that will be put in the display case tomorrow?"
Trieu Que Phuong was stunned.
"Who are you?"
Assistant Tran didn't pay any attention to her. His eyes only turned towards me.
"Can it still be restored?"
I picked up the largest fragment. Turn over to check for cracks.
"But don't let anyone bother me tonight."
Assistant Tran immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Then turned to Trieu Que Phuong.
"This vase has been fully registered and has a restoration contract."
"If damage occurs, we will pursue responsibility according to the correct procedure."
Trieu Que Phuong still tried to argue.
"If it's not placed carefully, what does it have to do with me?"
The shopkeeper next door immediately spoke up:
"I saw it all."
"You touched it yourself."
A man standing and watching the excitement also said:
"I saw it too."
"She still intends to hit people."
Trieu Que Phuong's face was sometimes blue, sometimes white. At that moment the phone rang. It was Tham Tinh calling. As soon as Trieu Que Phuong picked up the phone, she immediately cried.
"Thanh Thanh."
"Lam Van wants to call the police to arrest her mother."
"He even took out the torn vase to blackmail my family."
Tham Tinh's high-pitched scream echoed from the other end of the line.
"Mom, don't be afraid!"
"It's just scary."
"If he dares to call the police, I will tell my brother to divorce him!"
Hua Dao grabbed the phone.
"Please everyone, please divorce quickly."
"Every day the divorce is delayed, I'm afraid my friend will have bad luck that day."
Assistant Tran looked at me. The tone is much more cautious.
"Do you need me to stay?"
I shook my head.
"No need."
"Come pick up your things at eight o'clock tomorrow morning."
Trieu Que Phuong seemed to realize something was wrong. She stared at Assistant Tran.
"Why are you being so polite to him?"
Assistant Tran glanced at me. But no answer. I picked up a piece of porcelain. Gently stroke through the crack.
"Because he understands."
"The object is broken."
"No matter how perfect the restoration is..."
"There will still be traces left."
I raised my head to look at Trieu Que Phuong. The pupils were calm and cold.
"So are humans."
That night. I stayed at the restoration shop until morning. Hua Dao collapsed on the counter and slept three times. Woke up three times again. Every time he woke up, he would drag the whole Tham family out and scold him. Seven thirty in the morning. The final golden thread on the apricot vase is completed. Right at that moment. Outside, two groups of people appeared. A group of assistant Tran's people came to receive the artifacts. The remaining group... Is Tham Nghien. He was still wearing his hospital gown. Wear a temporary shirt outside. His face was ashen as if he had lost all vitality. Trieu Que Phuong is supporting him next to him. Tham Tinh followed behind. Just walked in the door. Tham Nghien's eyes locked on me.
