Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — After I Left the ICU, the Whole Emergency System Went Downhill
“Saving people is her credit, but if something happens, it becomes my illegal intervention?”
“Chu Du Bach, I'm not stupid.”
His face immediately became unsightly.
“Since when did you become so calculating?”
I smiled slightly.
“Since the day you brought my achievements to others.”
His eyes turned cold. I keep saying:
“The day my mother went for a follow-up check-up, he said he was in a meeting.”
"Later I learned that you were accompanying Giang Nhiem to attend the young doctor's thesis defense."
Chu Du Bach paused.
"I already explained that. It was the first time she gave a presentation..."
“So you have to stay with her.”
“What about my mother?”
He was silent. That day someone sent me a photo taken at the scene. Giang Nhiem stood under the stage, crying until her eyes turned red. Chu Du Bach took off his jacket and gently placed it on her shoulders. And the medical record file she was holding in her hand was something I had stayed up three nights in a row to complete. He did not accompany my mother for follow-up examination. But staying by her side, helping her turn my efforts into a stepping stone for her own future. I zipped up the suitcase. At that moment, the doorbell rang. Chu Du Bach turned around to open the door. Giang Nhiem stood outside, his eyes red, holding a stack of medical records in his arms.
"Master Chu, the family of patient in bed number 6 requested that the medical record be sealed. Director Tan told me to come and ask you to help me see how the emergency notes should be written."
“My hand was also scratched by them…”
Halfway through speaking, she seemed to discover my existence.
“Director On is also here.”
I looked at her, just feeling extremely funny. One just took over the entire ICU. The patient has just escaped death's door. There are still countless post-processing tasks pending in the department. Yet the first thing she did was not go back to the hospital. Instead, she grabbed the medical records and ran to my house to find my husband to look at the records. I spoke slowly:
“Of course you shouldn't appear here.”
Giang Nhiem was immediately stunned.
"If family members request to seal medical records, they should follow the procedures of the Department of Health Services."
“If there is a problem with the file, find the doctor on duty and the current person in charge.”
“If you are injured, go to the Emergency Department for treatment.”
I looked at the stack of medical records in her hand.
“As for you taking the medical records out of the hospital before sealing them…”
“And even brought it to a place that was not a work location.”
“Jiang Ran, do you know that that alone is enough to temporarily suspend your powers?”
Her tears immediately fell.
“I'm just too scared…”
"If you're afraid, don't compete for position."
Chu Du Bach shouted softly: I looked at him.
“Are you heartbroken?”
Having finished speaking, I took out a folder of documents from my bag and placed it on the shoe cabinet in the mysterious entrance.
“Divorce petition.”
“I signed it.”
Chu Du Bach's face immediately changed. The pile of medical records in Giang Nhiem's arms also clattered to the floor. Zhou Yubai did not sign. He clenched the divorce papers so tightly that his knuckles turned white.
“On Tung, please calm down.”
I pulled my suitcase and stood in front of the door.
“I'm very calm right now.”
Giang Nhiem stood behind him, tears still lingering on her eyelashes.
“Director On, I'm sorry, shouldn't I come here?”
“Don't argue with Mr. Chu because of me.”
I looked at her.
“It's not you should not come.”
“It's that you shouldn't cross the line over and over again.”
“Stepping straight into someone else's door.”
That evening, I took a direct flight to Dali. When the plane landed, the phone showed more than twenty missed calls. Chu Du Bach called eleven times. Manh Tri Vi called five times. The remaining numbers are all unfamiliar numbers. I didn't call anyone back. The next day, I rented a homestay by Erhai Lake. The hostess brought me a cup of hot tea.
“That person should stop when he needs to stop.”
“Don't push yourself until you're exhausted.”
I took the cup of tea. Warmth from the palm of the hand slowly spread. Over the next ten days, I slept until I naturally woke up. Go to the market to buy flowers. Sitting in the yard watching the clouds drift by. But the news from the hospital never really stopped. Sometimes Manh Tri Vi sends me WeChat. 【Director Giang changed the night consultation mode to a centralized assignment system. The Emergency Department is about to quarrel.】 【She deleted all of my previous special notes, saying that they affected the aesthetics of the system.】 【There was a high-risk pregnant woman who was almost treated according to normal procedures. Luckily, the nurse saw her handwritten note.】 I only replied with one sentence: 【Protect yourself well.】 The evening of the seventeenth day. As soon as I stepped out of the bathroom, my phone suddenly vibrated continuously. The first message came from Manh Tri Vi. 【Director Wen, something happened.】
