Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — After I Left the ICU, the Whole Emergency System Went Downhill
Right after that, Chu Du Bach's phone rang. I pressed listen. The other end of the line was so chaotic that it made people suffocate. The sound of carts colliding. The calls for medicine were urgent. Crying mixed with calls for help. It all merged into a jarring sound. Chu Du Bach's voice became noticeably hoarse.
“On Tung, where are you?”
He took a deep breath.
“The Emergency Department just received three critical cases at the same time.”
“A traffic accident with serious blood loss.”
“A pregnant woman with acute heart failure.”
“There is also a young man with acute flare-up of myocarditis.”
“The coordination of ICU beds is completely chaotic right now.”
“Giang Nhiem arranged the myocarditis patient into a regular monitoring room, but ventricular fibrillation recently appeared.”
“How were your previous assessment standards calculated?”
“Which case must go to the ICU first?”
“Which case must be prioritized for equipment first?”
“Is that pregnant woman the one you previously set up to track separately?”
I went to the window. Outside, Er Hai Lake is still peaceful as before. While on the other end of the line it felt like the whole world was collapsing.
“Zhou Yubai.”
“Didn't you say that without me the team could still operate?”
His voice was hoarse.
“Now is not the time to consider that.”
“So when will we calculate?”
"After saving people, you guys say you asked Director Giang to handle it excellently at the scene?"
“Or wait for something to go wrong and then blame the old process?”
The other side was silent for a few seconds.
“Consider me begging you.”
Right at that moment. From the other end of the line came Giang Nhiem's almost collapsing cry.
“Master Chu!”
“That pregnant woman is having trouble breathing again!”
“The family is kneeling outside the door!”
“They said that Director Wen previously created a separate monitoring record for her, so why wasn't she transferred directly to the ICU?”
My eyes stopped. I remember that woman very clearly. Two months ago. During a consultation, I personally created a high-risk profile for her. In the notes, I wrote very clearly: Once the symptoms of chest tightness get worse, bypass the normal flow process and directly activate the blue flow into the ICU. After Giang Nhiem took over the work. She transferred that file to the regular monitoring group. What she deleted was more than just a note. It's the patient's chance of survival sooner. Right at that moment. A call from an unknown number intervened. I switched phones. Principal Luong Hoai Xuyen's voice was low and tense.
“Wen Tung, I am Luong Hoai Xuyen.”
“The personnel adjustment report was approved by me.”
“But Tan Tranh never reported the suspension of her right to give orders.”
“There is also no report of a dispute related to the copyright of the emergency plan.”
"Today, the Health Department submitted the emergency incident report, and I learned that things had reached this point."
He stopped for a moment.
“The hospital has now activated a high-level emergency response mechanism.”
“I need you to come back immediately.”
I laughed softly.
“Director Luong.”
“Haven't I been optimized?”
He was silent for two seconds.
“Just come back.”
“Everything that happened before will be reprocessed.”
I looked at the night outside the window.
“I want the official authorization document.”
“Restore my field command in writing.”
“Suspend all of Giang's management rights Infected.”
"Immediately seal the investigation of the incident and sign the emergency plan."
"The hospital office and the Medical Affairs Department must publicly correct the notice of suspension of my work."
Luong Hoai Xuyen's voice immediately rang out:
“Is there anything else?”
I calmly replied:
“As for the hospital, it's over.”
The other end of the line suddenly went quiet. Chu Du Bach hoarsely called my name.
“On Tung...”
I calmly opened my mouth:
“As for you.”
“Sign the divorce papers.”
“Don't use my husband's identity to beg me anymore.”
Just finished speaking. Manh Tri Vi sent a photo. In front of the emergency room door. A man is kneeling on the ground. Raise the phone high with both hands. On the screen is a photo of my business card.
