Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — Aurora Doesn't Wait For You
Tong Van Van leaned against Chu Nghien's chest, her voice weak. "Auntie, don't blame Ms. Duong Duong. She just loves A Nghien too much so she can't accept you." Chu Nghien's mother sighed. “Van Van, don't help her.” Chu Nghien finally looked up at me. "Duong Duong, sit down. Wait for me to return, wedding ring, wedding dress, house, you can arrange it however you want." There was certainty in his voice. This candy is sweeter than any before. Because you've told me all the future scenarios I've always wanted. My fingers grabbed the door frame tightly, I almost wanted to ask him if he could go home now. The next second, Tong Van Van spoke softly. "Ah Nghien, so after returning home, can I still stay at your apartment? The doctor said I can't change too much of the environment, I'm afraid I won't be able to sleep alone." Chu Nghien looked at me. “Just stay there for now.” The words that threatened to rise in my throat choked. Chu Nghien's mother continued very naturally. "Just in case, Tieu Tham also moved there, the three of us still take care of and help each other. Van Van is very understanding, it won't affect the two of us." I looked at Chu Nghien. “Our wedding house, let her stay?” “It's just a temporary stay.” "How long?" Chu Nghien's voice was a bit impatient. “Until she stabilizes.” “What about you?” He rubbed his eyebrow bone. “Tham Duong, don't try to win or lose in everything.” There was a small whisper of laughter around the table. “Girls these days really don't suffer at all.” Tong Van Van bit her lips, tears welling up in her eyes. "Miss Duong Duong, I know you hate me. But I really only have A Nghien left. You have a healthy body, a family, a job, and I have nothing." She didn't say harsh words, but she suppressed all my frustrations into absurdity and harassment. Chu Nghien hugged her and looked up at me. “Sorry Van Van, this matter is over.” I looked at him, as if I hadn't heard clearly. “You said I'm sorry?” “Your words just agitated her.” Chu Nghien's mother also nodded. "If you say sorry, you won't lose face. He's a sick person, please give in a little." I stood at the door, the eyes of the whole room focused on me. Tong Van Van curled up into a ball in the lens, Chu Nghien's palm was protecting the back of her neck. I suddenly burst out laughing. "Okay." Chu Nghien's expression relaxed a bit. I walked back to the tablet, bent down to look at Tong Van Van in the lens. “Tong Van Van, sorry.” Her eyelashes trembled slightly. Just as Chu Nghien was about to open his mouth, I continued. “Sorry, I shouldn't have thought that my 5th anniversary was more important than your feelings.” “Sorry, I shouldn't have thought that the room I booked myself, the tickets I bought myself, the money I saved myself, could be my own decision.” “Sorry, I shouldn't consider Chu Nghien my boyfriend.” In the dining room, no one spoke. Chu Nghien's face changed little by little. “Tham Duong, don't be sarcastic.” I stood up straight. "Chu Nghien, I'm informing you now that we're breaking up. I'll clean up the things you gave me carefully and return them. I don't live in the apartment anymore. You can ask her to move in tomorrow." Chu Nghien's mother stood up suddenly. "What are you talking about? If you don't stay, where will you go?" I looked at her. “Go to your own home.” Chu Nghien's hand slipped from Tong Van Van's shoulder. "Where did you get the house? Wasn't that small house of yours sold a long time ago?" “Not sold yet.” Chu Nghien was stunned. I don't explain. That house was left to me by my grandmother, I never told anyone. For five years, I stayed in the apartment he bought, trying to play the role of someone waiting for him to take me home. Now it's not necessary anymore. The phone rings, it's the airline's switchboard. I picked up the phone and turned it on speaker.
