Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — Don't Open The Door At 2 A.M
A bit of blue light appeared in the crack of the door. Like computer screen lighting. Officer Tran raised his hand to signal everyone to stop. Manager Luong swallowed his saliva. "The file room is normally locked." Officer Tran looked at him. "Whose hand is the key in?" "I have one, the receptionist has one." Halfway through, he suddenly shut up. Last night the receptionist was called to coordinate the investigation and was not in the house at this time. Officer Tran lowered his voice. "Open." Manager Luong's hand trembled even more. When the key was turned, there was suddenly a soft sound inside. Like a chair leg rubbing on the ground. Officer Tran pushed open the door. The ceiling lights were not turned on in the filing room, only a computer in the corner of the room was on. On the screen is a scrolling series of chat windows. The upper right corner of the window clearly shows the words Lao Mieu. The window was slightly open, the curtains were blown against the wall by the bright wind. On the table is a black portable hard drive. Next to it was half a glass of water that hadn't been finished yet. Officer Cao rushed to the window and looked down. "Second floor, there is a platform." Officer Tran immediately picked up the radio. "Lock the area behind the management office, someone just ran out of the records room." I stood at the door, staring at that computer. The latest line of text on the screen hasn't been sent yet. "She's already gone to the management, don't let her..." There's a break in the back. My spine was cold. She. Say it's me. Manager Luong saw the screen clearly, his legs were so soft that he took a step back. "I really don't know, I really don't know who is here." Officer Tran turned his head. "Where is the camera in the file room?" Manager Luong's voice trembled. "There is no camera inside, only outside the door." Officer Cao picked up a temporary passport from the table. On the back of the card is a small label. On it was written 802. I saw those three numbers, my stomach tightened. "This is my apartment access card?" Manager Luong's lips turned white. "It must be the old card." Policeman Tran asked: "Why is the old card still in the file room?" Manager Luong could not answer. The computer suddenly pops up a new window. Not chatting. It's a live image. In the picture is my living room. The lens angle is very high, directly facing the mysterious gate. Below the image appeared a hand wearing a black glove. That hand slowly pushed open my bedroom door. 17 I rushed to the computer, but was held back by Officer Cao. "Don't touch." I pointed at the screen, my voice tight. "There is someone in my house." Officer Tran ordered over the radio. "Eighth floor, room 802, come up immediately." The image on the screen shook slightly. That camera was clearly not the device found under the TV shelf earlier. It is mounted higher, as if hidden near the mysterious light. The owner of the black gloves did not show his face. He stood in front of the bedroom door for a few seconds, as if listening to movements in the house. Then he bent down and pulled out a gray folder from the bag behind the door. I could barely stand. I put that file in with my own hand. There's no secret inside. Just a few old contracts, health check-up cards, copies of bank cards, and hospital bills when my mother was in the hospital. I was afraid of losing them so I conveniently stuffed them in there. Duong Ly's words finally matched. There is one more thing in your house that you put in with your own hands. Not the device. It's a document. I personally placed my weakness in the most convenient place to be taken away. Officer Tran asked me, "What's inside?" I said briefly. His face became even darker. "Is there relative information and account information?" "Yes." Manager Luong stood next to him, sweat was flowing from his sideburns to his chin. "Police, how can this computer connect to the image of her house?" Officer Cao coldly looked at him. "We should ask you this question." Manager Luong
I was so flustered that my voice broke. "I really didn't do this." On the screen, black gloves opened the file and took pictures page by page. His movements were very fast, as he had done many times. Suddenly, he stopped. He pulled out a photo from the same folder. That's a photo of me and my mother together. Last year my mother came here to visit me, we took photos under the cinnamon tree in front of the house. Mom smiled with her eyes wide open, carrying salted meat in her hand and bringing it to me. Black glove held the photo up to the camera and shook it slightly. Like saying hello to me. The blood in my body immediately rushed to the top of my head. "He knows we are watching." Officer Tran immediately said: "Don't let him lead your emotions." But I heard my teeth tremble. The computer speaker suddenly sounded an electric current. Immediately after that, a processed male voice came out. "Ninh Ninh, you're smarter than I thought." Manager Luong was so scared that he almost crashed into the cabinet. "Who's talking like that?" The other voice continued. "But smart people often harm the people next to them." Officer Tran took a step forward. "You've been located, stop immediately." The other person laughed a little. The laugh was hoarse and dry, like sandpaper grinding across a table. "If you locate someone in the management office, it's not certain that person is in the management office." Officer Cao turned his head to look at the window.
