Chapter 5 — Final Record

Updated 10/08/2026 4 min read

Uncle Liu, Liu Zhenbang, the second largest shareholder of the Chu group, is also my father's old friend of decades, who used to build the company from scratch with Chu Duc Hai and my father. Later, when my father passed away due to illness, his shares were divided, most of which was left for my mother to take care of in her old age, and a small part was left for me as a dowry. From there, the two great forces, Chu Duc Hai and Liu Chan Bang, were constantly fighting for many years. Chu Duc Hai always wanted to kick Liu Chan Bang out of the game, and Liu Chan Bang was waiting for a big enough opportunity to turn the chessboard around, and today... I am the one who put that opportunity in his hands. The meeting place was still the old tea shop, the same location, it was just that the person sitting across from me had changed to a more elegant looking man, wearing gold rimmed glasses, a scholarly temperament but his eyes were sharper than anyone else's.

"Little Tinh Tinh," he poured tea himself, his voice was gentle, mentioning how my father always considered me an obedient daughter when he was alive, but he didn't expect to see such a decisive face today.

I just laughed lightly, said that even when cornered, a rabbit knows how to bite people, then got straight to the point, without any further beating around the bush.

"I came today to make a deal with Uncle Liu. I'll use what I have... in exchange for a promise from you."

He nodded slightly, signaling me to continue. His eyes began to change, clearly interested.

"What I have is all the evidence that Chu Duc Hai falsified books, evaded taxes, and embezzled public funds over the years."

As soon as that sentence ended, Liu Chan Bang's hand holding the teacup paused, his eyes flashed in surprise and were quickly hidden.

“So what do you want?”

"It's very simple, after you take over the company, I want to get back the shares that belonged to my father in the past, not much, only fifteen percent."

He was silent, clearly considering the benefits, because the number fifteen percent was not small, but if he could get the whole corporation in return... then it was a deal he couldn't refuse. After a while, he raised his head and asked me how I could be sure that what I had was real, and if I was afraid of being criticized by people for turning my back on my husband's family. I didn't answer right away, just took out a piece of paper and pushed it towards him. It was a page in the notebook I kept.

“This is the cash flow of the ‘Luc Dang project’ three years ago, I think you are not unfamiliar with this name.”

Liu Chan Bang just looked once and his breathing changed, because that project was a thorn in his heart in the past, with heavy losses but no evidence of wrongdoing was found. Now it's all on paper, so clear it's undeniable.

"I don't care what other people say," I smiled softly, my voice calm, "a woman almost died on the delivery table, and life-saving medicine was given to someone else... then there's nothing to be afraid of being talked about."

Luu Chan Bang put down the paper, sighed, his eyes looking at me were no longer just wary but mixed with appreciation.

"Okay, I accept this transaction. Not only will I return the shares to you and your mother, I will also give you an additional fifteen percent... as a meeting gift for An An."

I nodded, as if I had concluded a big game.

“But I still have a small request, I hope Uncle Liu can help.”

He signaled me to continue, clearly completely absorbed call.

“I need you to spread a little rumor, saying that the Zhou group is having broken cash flow, messed up books, and has been investigated.”

Luu Chan Bang's eyes immediately lit up, he immediately understood the intention behind.

“You want to pull out the firewood from the bottom of the pot?”

I shook my head, my voice was light but cold.

“I just want to see… when great disaster strikes, everyone flies away on their own, especially when the wall collapses and everyone pushes with one hand.”

Liu Chan Bang laughed, a smile full of meaning, as if he had seen the outcome of the whole game.

“Okay, let me worry about this, just sit still and watch a good show.”
