Chapter 13
Chapter 13 — From Abandoned Bride to Tycoon's Nanny
Pink color, cheap fabric, rough workmanship. Inside there is a card.
"Sister, here's the bridesmaid dress I prepared for you. It's a bit cheap, but you're probably not picky as a nanny. Remember to wear it next Saturday. — Uyen Thanh."
I held that bridesmaid dress and looked at it for exactly ten seconds. Then throw it straight into the trash. At dusk, Luc Canh Tham returned. He called me into the study room.
“To Uyen Thanh's wedding, will you go?”
"Go." I replied.
He looked at me.
“Not being a bridesmaid.”
“Then what?”
“Being the main character.”
His facial expression did not change, but the corners of his mouth slightly curled up.
“What are you going to do?”
“The evidence that Professor Tran was falsely accused that year, To Kien Quoc's statement of receipt of money, and the origin of the down payment on To Uyen Thanh's Porsche — I want to make it all public right at the wedding.”
Luc Canh Tham looked at me.
“Are you sure?”
"Sure."
“So what do you need?”
“A decent outfit.”
He picked up the phone.
“Assistant Tan, arrange it, prepare an outfit for Ms. To to attend a formal event.”
He hung up and looked at me.
“Is there anything else?”
“A lawyer may be needed.”
“My legal team is on duty 24/7.”
“And a driver.”
“I will take you.”
I was dumbfounded.
“You personally?”
“Because if you go in alone, they will think you came to make peace.”
His voice was very faint.
“But if you get out of my car, they won't have the courage to show up.”
I looked at him. This man is as cold as an iceberg. But every thing he does is like paving the way for me.
“Luc Canh Tham.”
"Thank you."
"No need."
He bent down and flipped a page of the document.
"The other things will come later. Let's just get this done first."
Three days before the wedding. Assistant Tan brought clothes. A high-end black evening dress, sharp cut, and the material is not cheap at a glance. Accompanied by a pair of matching high heels, and a set of streamlined jewelry.
“Mr. Luc personally chose it.” Assistant Tan said.
I tried it on. The person in the mirror made me feel dumbfounded. Haven't had this feeling in a long time. Feeling like a decent human being. Not a nanny, not an abandoned fiancee, not an attachment to anyone. It's me. Niem Niem sat next to me, looking up at me with her small face.
“Aunt Van Van is so beautiful.”
“Thank you.”
“Where are you going?”
“I'm going to do something very important.”
“What?”
“Go fight the bad guys.”
The boy pondered.
“Like the rabbit defeating the gray wolf in the story, auntie?”
“Almost the same.”
“So try your best, auntie.”
I squatted down and hugged the boy.
“Remember to leave dinner for auntie.”
Three o'clock in the afternoon. Kinh Bac International Hotel. The wedding of Chu Tu Hien and To Uyen Thanh was held at one of the most expensive hotels in Kinh Bac. The number of guests present was about three hundred people, most of whom were people in the Kinh Bac business and medical world. This time To Uyen Thanh has invested a lot of capital, wanting to turn this wedding into a shocking event for the whole city. She indeed did it. It's just that the method of shock was not as she imagined. Two fifty minutes in the afternoon. A jet black Maybach parked in front of the hotel's main door. Socks Everyone's eyes turned towards that direction. Because behind the Maybach there were two black Mercedes escorts. The car door opens. Luc Canh Tham got out of the car first. Today he is wearing a dark suit, his hair is slicked back, and his whole body shines as if he just stepped off a magazine cover. The receptionist in front of the hotel was stunned. Passersby were also stunned.
“That is… Luc Canh Tham?”
“Luc Canh Tham of Luc Thi Group?”
"Why is he here? This is the Chu family's wedding. What relationship does he have with the Chu family?"
Luc Canh Tham walked around to the other side and opened the passenger door. Put out. I grabbed his hand and got out of the car. Black evening dress, high heels, hair in a bun. Standing next to Luc Canh Tham. The front door of the hotel suddenly fell silent. Immediately afterwards, whispers broke out like bees in a hive.
“Who is that woman?”
“Come with Luc Canh Tham?”
“Wait… why does she look familiar?”
“Isn't that To Van?”
"To Van? To Uyen Thanh's sister? The one who works as a nanny?"
I heard those sounds all the time. I don't mind.
