Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — From Abandoned Bride to Tycoon's Nanny
My heart felt like someone was squeezing it.
"Nien Niem, listen to aunt. You are very safe here. Auntie is here, dad is also here. No one can take you anywhere."
The boy looked at me, his dark eyes like grape seeds filled with fear. Then the boy rushed forward and hugged my neck. This was the first time the boy proactively hugged someone. Its small body trembled. I hugged it, one hand gently patting its back. The sound of arguing downstairs became louder and louder.
"Luc Canh Tham, I want to see Niem Niem! The court has ruled that I have visitation rights!"
"Your visitation rights have been revoked. Lam Di San, don't force me."
"You take it away? What right do you take away!"
“You left a six-month-old baby alone in a shopping mall for three hours, don't you deserve visitation rights?”
"It was an accident! I was busy that day —"
"Are you busy? What business? Traveling abroad with your lover?"
Downstairs suddenly fell silent. Then there was the sound of throwing things.
"Luc Canh Tham! Don't think money is good! I will hire a lawyer to sue you!"
The sound of high heels gradually fades away. The big door slammed shut. Niem Niem's body was still shaking. I hugged the boy and said softly: "Gone. She's gone." The boy slowly let go, but still held my sleeve tightly.
“Aunt Van Van.”
“Are you going too?”
"Auntie says don't go, don't go."
“They all said so.”
The boy's voice was very small, so small that it was almost inaudible.
“The previous aunts also said they wouldn't go, but then they all disappeared.”
I took the boy's small hand and pulled it in front of me.
“Nien Niem, look at me.”
The boy raised his head.
"Whatever aunt To Van said, she will definitely keep her word. She won't go."
The boy stared at me for a long moment. Then, a small "yes" sound. In the evening, Luc Canh Tham went to the second floor. Niem Niem was asleep. He stood outside the door of Niem Niem's room and looked for a long time. Then walked in front of me.
“What happened today… thank you.”
You never said thank you to me.
“That's my job.”
"Not." He replied, “What you do goes beyond work.”
He looked at me, in those eyes that were always cold, there was now something else.
“To Van, I have investigated you.”
My heart was slightly startled.
"She is a close disciple of Professor Tran Thu Chinh, winner of the Special Prize of the National Pediatric Pathology Competition, her thesis on early intervention of autism in children has been cited more than three hundred times."
I was silent.
"After something happened to her supervisor, her internship was canceled, her scholarship was revoked, and she almost couldn't get her diploma. Her father didn't help her, and her fiance, when she was most difficult, chose to follow her sister."
“You investigated really clearly.”
“You shouldn't be a nanny here.”
“But I'm here.”
He looked at me for a few seconds.
“I didn't mean to chase you away.”
"I know."
“I mean — you deserve better.”
I smiled.
"Mr. Luc, right now there is nothing more important to me than making money to treat my mother's illness. This job is the best choice for me right now."
He didn't say anything more. But before turning around, he left a sentence.
“If one day you don't want to be a nanny anymore, come find me.”
He went up to the third floor. I'm standing there hallway, heart rate is a bit disordered. To Van, please calm down. He's your boss. You're his son's nanny. Don't think nonsense. Fifteenth day. To Uyen Thanh's wedding invitation was officially sent. The circle of friends is filled with news. Status line: "Thank you for your friends' blessings, on the full moon day of next month, waiting for everyone to come witness our happiness." Below are a bunch of people dropping hearts and comments.
“Uyen Thanh is so beautiful!”
“Tu Hien is so handsome!”
“Golden copper and jade girl!”
“I'm so jealous!”
I scrolled through the comments and came across a line.
“Your sister isn't coming?”
To Uyen Thanh replied: "My sister is busy outside, now she's working as a nanny for someone else, she can't get out." Followed by a series of smiley face emojis. The comments section immediately exploded.
"To Van works as a nanny? Didn't she graduate from Kinh Bac University?"
"I heard that my boyfriend dumped me and I don't even have a place to live."
“So pathetic…”
“It's really fate, sharing the same father but the difference is so big.”
I looked at those comments, my fingers clenched slightly. To Uyen Thanh, you really don't want me to live in peace. The butler came over, his face solemn.
"Miss To, there are a few people outside the gate, saying they are reporters, wanting to interview... Miss To Uyen Thanh's sister."
