Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — Husband's Will
"Giang Thinh Ngu, answer me! Do you hear?"
“Go back now—”
I decisively hung up, then blocked the call, all at once. I followed your wishes. Doesn't make Quan Thuan Nguyet "excited" anymore. And will never... bother them. Before the surgery, at the doctor's request, I had to do a series of tests. The doctor showed me the ultrasound photo, the baby's arms and legs were fully developed.
“The fetus is very healthy, have you really decided to give up?”
"Furthermore, the fetus is already grown, and if the pregnancy is terminated, it will seriously affect her health, and the baby... already knows pain."
I gently placed my hand on the tiny image in the ultrasound film. My heart felt like it was being squeezed by an invisible hand. This is a child who shares my blood. Is a living, breathing being. I closed my eyes, the dull pain suddenly flared up in the dark night.
“Sorry… let me think more.”
The doctor nodded and told me a few things to pay attention to. When I walked out of the clinic, my whole body felt cold. As soon as I raised my head, I met Ky Le Chu's cold eyes. He wore an expensive, neat suit without a wrinkle. Cold, arrogant, calculating. He stepped forward and firmly grabbed my wrist.
“Haven't you made enough trouble these past few days?”
Seeing that I didn't answer, he rubbed his forehead in frustration, his voice low and full of annoyance:
"You haven't sealed that will yet, so it's inherently invalid."
"Thuan Nguyet has a congenital heart disease. I just want to give her a gift that means blessings and hope she is safe and healthy."
That explanation sounded forced. It was so funny that my vision blurred. I hoarsely asked back:
"If you want to wish good health, can't you give a peace charm? So what about you? What do you get?"
He choked on his words. I forcefully pushed his hand away. All the resentment and anger that had accumulated over the years finally burst out:
"On the day of our wedding, you had a stomach hemorrhage and had to be hospitalized. I called you more than ten times and you didn't answer, saying you were busy working overtime. But then, Quan Thuan Nguyet sent me a photo, you were in Paris watching fashion week with her."
"On our wedding anniversary, you said you had to go on a business trip. But I saw you on her Weibo, standing in line for three hours just to buy a cup of milk tea."
"Every time I go for a prenatal checkup, you say you don't have time. Yet you have time to take her to exhibitions, buy handbags, and celebrate her birthday."
"Even when I almost had a miscarriage, bled non-stop, and was close to death, you still took her to Disneyland to watch the fireworks. In your eyes, am I that cheap of a woman?"
Each story, one by one — the day before was like a knife cutting into my heart. But when I said it out loud... I realized that those wounds had long since scabbed over, but inside they were still festering day by day. Ky Le Chu's face immediately changed, and his eyes were finally filled with panic:
“You… you know everything?”
It's ridiculous. Even now, he still thinks he's good at hiding it. I tried to smile, but tears flowed uncontrollably.
“Ky Le Chu, just because you didn't say anything… doesn't mean you don't know.”
“I pretended not to know, because I believed that the man who loved me—sooner or later would return to me.”
I clenched my fists to the point of my heart My hand hurts, as if it might bleed. The corners of my lips curled up more clearly, wiping away the tears at the corner of my eyes:
"Before seeing that will, I could still fool myself. But now... I can't fool myself anymore."
A trace of guilt flashed through his eyes. That was the look in my eyes that I had dreamed of seeing thousands of times. But… it's already too late. I slowly, clearly each word:
“This child, I will keep.”
“But… it has nothing to do with you and the Ky family.”
Having finished speaking, I turned around and left. He raised his hand, as if to hold on. But in the end... still didn't dare touch me. After deciding to keep the child, I carefully nurtured the pregnancy in my cozy small apartment. A week later, lawyer Tong called to tell me—Ky Le Chu refused to divorce.
"Lady Ky, if you are still determined to divorce, the only way is to file a lawsuit in court."
"Mr. Ky also texted back that if you dare to go to court, he will do everything to get custody of the child."
Lawyer Tong's face was full of concern, his eyebrows slightly frowned. I gently placed my hand on my stomach and was silent for a long time. Because I understand clearly... Ky Le Chu is completely capable of doing that. What about me? Besides the child in my belly and the title “Lady Ky”— I have nothing left in my hands. Lawyer Tong also said that if the other side deliberately prolongs the procedure, the lawsuit could be delayed for many years. I took a deep breath, eyes determined:
“I absolutely will not let my child be born in such a situation.”
“I will make him agree to a divorce.”
