Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — It's You Don't Need Me First
Chu's mother's face turned pale.
"Mian Mien, why did your father even call outsiders? What do you want to do?"
My father looked straight at Chu Ky Bach.
“I don't feel safe leaving my daughter here alone, despite your bullying.”
Those words just ended. Chu Ky Bach finally looked towards me. For the first time... There was panic in his eyes.
“Tri Mien...
Are you looking at me like that?” I moved my lips slightly. Before he could speak... The LED screen in the hall suddenly lit up. MC's voice rang out through the microphone:
"All of you are invited to watch the surprise video that the groom has prepared for the bride."
The first photo that appeared on the screen... It wasn't a photo of me and Chu Ky Bach. Tham Nam Chi's sleeping profile rested on Chu Ky Bach's shoulder. The whole hall was in silence. The MC was so scared that he almost dropped the microphone. Each image on the screen changes in turn. Hospital hallway. Kitchen at midnight. Balcony of the wedding house. Tham Nam Chi wore that light blue nightgown, stood by the window, turned around and smiled. Chu Ky Bach's face immediately lost all color under the cold light from the screen. He rushed towards the console. The hotel staff frantically worked, the music sometimes stopped, but the image on the screen continued to play. The next photo is Tham Nam Chi sitting on the edge of the wedding bed, holding my veil in her hand. Below is just one line of text: I hope there will always be someone who chooses you first. The sound of cold air was heard in the guest seats. Chu's mother could barely stand.
"Who sent this? Who wants to harm our Chu family?"
Hua Duong smiled coldly.
“It's not the photos that hurt you, it's the people in the photos.”
Tham Nam Chi continuously shook his head.
"No... I didn't post it. I don't know why it appeared here."
Chu Ky Bach turned his head to look at her. That look was extremely complicated, both surprised and skeptical. She sobbed and grabbed his sleeve.
"Ky Bach, believe me. I only posted within private friends, I don't want others to see it."
As soon as she finished speaking... She herself was stunned. The hall immediately exploded.
“Private circle of friends?”
“So does this prove that these photos are real?”
"You've already entered the wedding house, and are you still sitting on the wedding bed?"
My ears are ringing. What I saw last night was only a very small part. Things that were even more unsightly... She kept them all separately to see for herself. Chu Ky Bach immediately shook her hand away.
“Tham Nam Chi, are these things posted by you?”
She staggered a step, her injured leg seemed to suddenly feel much better, but quickly grabbed the edge of the table again.
"I didn't post it publicly. I just... just wanted to keep it as a souvenir."
“Take my wedding house as a souvenir?”
My voice in the midst of the chaos was still not loud. Tham Nam Chi looked at me, tears flowing like a broken string of beads.
"A Mien, I never really wanted to steal him from you. I just admire you too much. You have parents, friends, and a wedding. And I... have nothing."
“So you took my wedding bouquet, put on my jade necklace, and sat on my wedding bed?”
Her lips trembled.
“I just want to feel... what it feels like to be valued by others.”
Hua Duong was so angry that he burst out laughing.
“Want to be seen If it's important, go register for a medical examination, don't cling to someone else's fiance."
Chu Ky Bach's face turned pale. He finally stepped in front of me.
“Tri Mien, I will investigate this video. If Nam Chi makes a mistake, he will tell her to apologize. But the wedding has already started, I'll go on stage with you first."
“What are you doing up there?”
“Complete the ritual.”
He reached out to pull me. Bui Chieu Xuyen stepped up to block it. Chu Ky Bach's eyes flashed with anger.
“Try touching her.”
Bui Chieu Xuyen's voice was still calm.
“She doesn't want to.”
Chu Ky Bach looked at me, as if for the first time he no longer recognized me.
“Tong Tri Mien, are you planning on destroying me in front of so many people like this?”
“Destroy me... it's me.”
As soon as that sentence ended... The big screen finally went black. But on that black screen... The faces of each person in the hall were reflected. Pity. A wedding... Has completely turned into a joke.
