Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — It's You Don't Need Me First
Bui Chieu Xuyen stood outside the door, not entering.
"Uncle Tong is downstairs. The Chu family requested that the two of you bear all the wedding expenses and at the same time repay the bride price."
Mom dried her tears.
"The bride price is supposed to be returned, but how can we make our family bear the entire cost of the party?"
Bui Chieu Xuyen looked towards me.
“How are you going to handle it?”
"Pay what needs to be paid, pay what needs to be counted."
I paused for a moment then continued:
"Wedding photos, wedding invitations, hotel deposits, ticket exchange fees and guest accommodations, and all the dowry items my family brought over... item by item, listed clearly."
Bui Chieu Xuyen nodded.
“I will help Uncle Tong arrange.”
Hua Duong patted my hand.
"Mien Mien, you go back to the house to rest first. I'll stay and help look after you."
Just stepping out of the break room... At the end of the hallway, a familiar voice suddenly rang out. Chu Ky Bach is back. His collar was askew, the flower pinned to his chest was tilted to one side, his face was full of fatigue and anger. Following behind was Chu's mother.
“Tong Tri Mien, what do you mean by blocking me?”
Hua Duong stepped up to block in front of him.
“Is the meaning not clear enough?”
Chu Ky Bach didn't bother to pay attention to her. He walked around Hua Duong and looked straight at me.
"Nam Chi has gone to have her wrist processed, and the bracelet will be returned to you. The wedding turned out like this, are you satisfied?"
My mother was so angry that she was shaking all over.
“Even now you still dare to blame Mien Mien?”
Chu's mother immediately burst into tears.
"Master, our Ky Bach family is also very unjust. He had the kindness to take the injured person to the hospital, yet you guys made him like this. Now everyone's relatives are asking, where else can we hide the Chu family's dignity?"
“Your dignity was not torn by me.”
I looked straight at Chu Ky Bach.
“But you lost it yourself.”
Chu Ky Bach's face immediately darkened.
“Do you have to say such things to annoy me?”
“The truth is always hard to hear.”
He took a step forward, his voice softened a bit.
"Tri Mien, we're both not calm today. You go home first, I'll come pick you up in a few days. The wedding... we can reorganize it."
Reorganize. It's like breaking a bowl... Then replacing it with another bowl, pretending it never happened. At that moment, Bui Chieu Xuyen walked over from the elevator, holding a stack of papers in his hand.
"Mr. Chu, this is the list of Ms. Tong's dowry. You need to sign it. In addition, all of Ms. Tong's personal belongings still at the wedding house must be recovered in the presence of both parties tonight."
Chu Ky Bach looked at him coldly.
“What right do you have to interfere?”
Before Bui Chieu Xuyen could answer... My father's voice rang out from behind him.
“I authorized it.”
Chu Ky Bach clenched his fists.
“Uncle Tong, are you really determined to separate us?”
Father looked at him, there was no warmth left in his eyes.
“It's you...
Push my daughter away with your own hands.” At that moment, the elevator door opened. A nurse in uniform stepped out. As soon as she saw Chu Ky Bach, she immediately stopped. Chu Ky Bach turned his head and was also slightly stunned. In her hand, the nurse held a transparent evidence bag. Inside... was a jade bracelet that had been cut in half.
“Miss Tham said she wasn't feeling well so she left Before that, please let me leave this for you. The bracelet processing fee is still unpaid.”
Chu Ky Bach's face immediately became unsightly.
“Is she gone?”
The nurse nodded.
“She said you would pay.”
Mother Chu quickly asked:
“So how's her hand?”
"The wrist is only slightly red and swollen, no broken bones, no injuries."
The female nurse's voice was very calm.
"The ankle is only slightly sprained, the scan shows no problems."
The hallway suddenly fell silent for a few seconds. Mild sprain. Just because of those four words, Chu Ky Bach missed the bridal shower, carried her right into the wedding, and trampled my self-esteem on the red carpet. Hua Duong burst out laughing.
“Mr. Chu is truly a rare good person.”
Chu Ky Bach pursed his lips tightly and received the evidence bag. The cut on the jade bracelet turned white. My mother just took one look and turned away, tears falling again. I reached out to receive the bag. Chu Ky Bach still refused to let go.
“I will pay.”
