Chapter 11
Chapter 11 — My grandmother tore up my admission notice, and tore up my status as a Thien Kim Hao Mon
“Is it so good that I tell you all my personal story?”
The male student immediately became speechless. I opened the file bag.
“Or do you want me to take a picture of her threatening me at the station for you guys to see?”
Tham Duyet immediately panicked.
“Tham Tri Ha!”
I looked straight at her.
“Don't make the wrong call.”
“Now my name is Tham.”
The crowd of people around grew larger and larger. A teacher in charge of reception stepped forward.
"What's up?"
I handed out the admission notice.
"Teacher, I'm here to complete the admission procedures."
The teacher received the file. When seeing names and scores. His eyes immediately lit up.
“Tham Tri Ha?”
“Are you the new student representative giving a speech this year?”
Tham Duyet's face immediately changed.
“New student representative?”
The teacher smiled and said:
“That's right.”
“The school has just adjusted the list.”
“This year's opening ceremony will be delivered by Tham Tri Ha.”
A girl standing next to Tham Duyet quietly asked:
“Yeu Duyet, didn't you say you were the one speaking?”
Tham Duyet bit her lip.
“Probably a last minute change.”
I received the file back. Look straight at her.
“There are locations...”
“Whoever takes it first will always own it.”
Tham Duyet's eyes turned red. The other male student still wanted to speak up. But the teacher frowned.
“Don't block the students behind you.”
The crowd gradually dispersed. I vaguely heard someone say:
“As expected of being the top valedictorian in the entire province.”
“The temperament is really different.”
Tham Duyet stood still in place. His fingers tightened on the bag handle until they turned white. She won't stop. One day before the opening ceremony. A hot post appeared on the school forum.
"Suspected that the valedictorian of the whole province pretended to be a wealthy family, abandoned his adoptive parents after adopting a rich relative."
The post includes many photos. Including photos of three members of the Lam family. Grandma cried and said to the camera:
“We worked hard to feed and educate him.”
"Now that we've got our rich parents back, we don't need us anymore."
My father also appeared.
“She's been very good at pretending since she was little.”
Only Trieu Lan said nothing. She sat with her head bowed and crying. Below the post. There are countless comments scolding me. Tham Duyet sat on the dormitory bed. Pretend you just read it.
"Don't be sad."
I raised my head to look at her.
“You seem very happy.”
Tham Duyet sighed softly. But the corners of his lips could not hide his smile. Tham Duyet sighed softly.
“I'm just worried that your speech tomorrow will be affected.”
My roommates all looked towards me. Among them, a girl named Luong Am spoke first.
“Tri Ha, I believe you.”
Tham Duyet turned to look at her.
“Luong Am.”
“You've only known her for a day.”
Luong Am calmly replied:
“I've only known you for a day.”
Tham Duyet's face immediately darkened. I picked up the phone. Call Uncle Tan.
"Have you checked the history of money delivery and receipt at the used bookstore?"
Tan's voice rang out from the other end of the line.
“Looked it up.”
“Tomorrow I will bring all the documents to school.”
Tham Duyet's hand trembled slightly. I hung up. She immediately asked:
“What is the history of money delivery?”
I looked at her.
“You guess.”
The next morning. The official opening ceremony begins. The hall was packed with people. Right when the host read my name. There were immediately shouts from below the stands:
“You ungrateful thing!”
“Explain clearly Then speak!”
“What is the basis for being a new student representative?”
Tham Duyet sat in the front row. Head bowed low. Looks like he's in a lot of pain. The faces of the school leadership became unsightly. I walked onto the stage. Microphone is open. I looked down at the auditorium.
“I will explain.”
The hall immediately became a little quieter. I said slowly:
“First.”
“My exam results are real.”
“I never abandoned my adoptive parents.”
"That year they received money from the Tham family, then lied that I died of illness."
The whole hall immediately erupted into commotion. Someone stood up and shouted loudly:
“Where is the evidence?”
Right at that moment. The hall door opened. Uncle Tan walked in. Behind him is the owner of a used bookstore. The man's face turned pale. Uncle Tan handed the file over to the school board. I looked down at the stands.
“The proof is here.”
The owner of the used bookstore spoke tremblingly into the microphone:
“For many years…”
“Someone asked me to transfer cash to the Lam family.”
A school leader immediately asked: The bookstore owner slowly turned his head. Looking straight at Tham Duyet. Tham Duyet jumped up.
“What are you looking at me for?”
The bookstore owner replied:
“The most recent time.”
"It was Ms. Tham Duyet who told me to give the notice looking for someone to Mr. Hua."
The whole hall seemed to explode. Tham Duyet immediately cried.
