Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — Mystery At 3 A.M
“Don't go to the bank for now.”
“The enemy is waiting for you to act.”
Khuong Hoa asked.
“If you don't go, what should you do at six o'clock?”
Captain Dien said.
“We will arrange forces.”
An An suddenly raised her head.
“Can't just monitor Nam Kieu Bridge.”
Team leader Dien looked at her. An An's breathing became rapid.
“Last time, the person wearing the gray hat said something.”
“He said if Ms. Khuong refused to show up, then he would change to another place to get the key.”
Khuong Hoa's fingers tightened. An An's eyes gradually turned red.
“He said children still have to go to school.”
At that moment, urgent footsteps were heard outside the testimony room. Officer Ha pushed the door and walked in, his face unsightly.
“Captain Dien, just received a phone call from the school.”
"Someone pretended to be Ms. Khuong's relative and came to school to ask for a leave of absence for An An."
"The security guard said that person was wearing a gray baseball cap and had An An's student card in his hand."
Khuong Hoa suddenly stood up, the chair leg scraped on the ground, making a shrill sound.
“The student card is in An An's bag.”
An An was also surprised. The girl bowed her head and searched her bag. Bag of documents, power bank, jacket, half an uneaten sandwich. No school bags. When she ran away last night, she only brought a small bag with her. The school bag is still placed next to the desk in the house. Captain Dien immediately asked police officer Ha.
“Where are you?”
"The school security guard felt something was wrong, so he told him to wait for the homeroom teacher to confirm."
“He immediately turned around and left.”
"The camera in front of the gate captured him getting into a black car, the license plate was covered by mud."
Khuong Hoa's voice choked.
“What do they come to school for?”
An An slowly placed her hand on the table. The back of her hand was so white it was almost transparent.
“They thought I was going to school.”
Khuong Hoa looked at her.
“If we hadn't escaped, this morning's news wouldn't have spread so quickly.”
“If you're just scared, maybe I'll take you to school first, while we go deal with the apartment.”
“They are waiting for you alone.”
Captain Dien looked at An An. This thirteen year old girl was too calm to talk. So calm that it didn't feel like he was analyzing his own danger, but like he was looking back at a murder that had ended. Khuong Hoa's heart ached. She walked over and hugged An An into her arms.
“I won't leave you alone.”
An An did not hug her back. Her eyes stopped on Captain Dien.
"Now they know I don't go to school, and they also know the police are investigating."
“The next step is definitely to force your mother to go to the bank.”
Captain Dien spoke in a deep voice.
“They can't force it.”
But Khuong Hoa knows, things are not that simple. The other person dared to attack in the apartment, dared to put photos under the hotel room door, and even dared to pretend to be a relative coming to school to take a leave of absence. These guys don't act on the spur of the moment. They are like a net. She and An An escaped from the seventeenth floor, only passing through a mesh once. The net is continuing to tighten. At eleven o'clock in the afternoon, information about Luong Thua Vien was clearly investigated. The old training center has long since changed its name. But the warehouse in the basement of that building was always rented by Luong Thua Vien's ex-wife's younger brother. The lease contract is renewed every year, without interruption. What's even more strange is that the building is just away from the bridge Nam Kieu two streets. Team leader Dien spread the map on the table. Old central building, Nam Kieu bridge, Khuong Hoa's apartment building, An An's school. The four points connect together like a road that has been traversed by someone over and over again. Police Officer Ha said.
“The bank has also investigated.”
“Ms. Khuong's safe deposit box registration information was accessed three months ago.”
Khuong Hoa suddenly raised his head.
“Who accesses?”
Officer Ha put down the printed paper.
“A bank's internal operation code.”
“The teller said she wasn't impressed, but the system still had a record.”
Captain Dien asked.
“Is that employee going to work today?”
“Please take sick leave.”
“Home address?”
“Someone has been sent.”
The cold feeling in Khuong Hoa's heart became increasingly heavier. She thought the key was kept in the bank and would be safe. But the opponent can even access the safe's information. So why didn't they take the key directly? An An asked for her.
“They couldn't open the safe.”
Team leader Dien nodded.
“Requires owner presence or full power of attorney.”
Khuong Hoa said softly.
“So they need me.”
Police Officer Ha said.
“Fingerprints and facial verification may also be needed.”
Khuong Hoa's palm gradually became cold. Captain Dien looked at her.
“We set a reverse trap.”
Khuong Hoa raised his head. Captain Dien said.
“You go to the bank to check in as usual.”
“We will arrange someone to monitor the entire process.”
“After the safe is opened, do not leave the key exposed for the time being.”
“See who will act.”
Khuong Hoa did not immediately agree.
