Chapter 11
Chapter 11 — Not married yet, asked me to have children, I turned around and married the CEO
In the days that followed, my life was almost completely filled. Learning things I've never touched before. Learn to taste wine, learn to arrange flowers, learn to ride horses, learn how to communicate at high-class parties. It was all dry and tiring, but it made me change so quickly that I even felt strange. I am no longer the girl who trembled with anger after just a few words from Chu Hao. I began to learn how to stand firmly, learn how to smile, learn how to use calm to face this strange world. Luc Canh Tham is still as busy as ever. The time we met every day was limited to the evening when he returned. He would sometimes ask me a few questions about studying, his tone was neither salty nor bland, like he was checking my progress rather than caring. The rest of the time, we stayed in two separate spaces, like two familiar strangers, living under the same roof but not really entering each other's world. That evening, I sat in front of the piano in the living room, trying to practice a simple piece of music I had just learned. Fingers touch the keys, but each note sounds interrupted, clumsy, and completely not as seamless as imagined. I don't know when the office door opened. Luc Canh Tham, wearing a simple home outfit, leaned his back against the door frame, quietly standing there listening to me play, without making a single sound. His eyes made me suddenly tense, my fingertips trembled, a wrong note was pressed, the sound immediately broke midway, causing the whole space to fall into awkward silence. I bowed my head, a little embarrassed, my voice lowered. “Sorry… to bother you.” He didn't answer, just slowly walked forward, each step light but carrying a very clear feeling of pressure, as if all the distance was narrowed by him in a few short seconds. He sat down next to me, so close that I could clearly feel his body temperature, then his big hand gently covered mine.
“This place… has to be like this.”
He spoke softly, his voice low, his hand guiding my fingers to place them correctly on the keys, with just the right amount of force, not too strong or too light, like he was patiently teaching a child. A smooth, seamless melody began to resonate from our fingertips, so smoothly that I almost forgot how confused I was just now. His hand was very warm, and there was a thin layer of callus in his palm, completely contrary to his flawless noble appearance. His after-bath scent wafted around me, mixed with that familiar cold scent, enveloping me, making me feel like I was engulfed in a space that belonged only to him. My heart... started to beat again.
"Concentrate."
His voice rang out from above, pulling me back to reality. I was startled and regained consciousness, my face felt hot, realizing that I had completely lost concentration, my mind was full of thoughts that I should not have. He is teaching me to play. And I... was thinking about random things. That night, he patiently sat next to me for an hour, little by little correcting and guiding me, until I could complete the entire piece. Only when the last melody stopped did he let go.
“Gifted.”
He just said one sentence short, the tone was still calm as usual, but it made me feel strangely happy, like being recognized by someone who is very difficult to please. Then he stood up, without saying anything more, returned to his room, his back returning to his familiar distant look. I looked after him, a very strange feeling arose in my heart, both sweet and sour, as if something was quietly sprouting that I couldn't control. Hua Niem... done. Maybe I really... am about to not be able to hold my heart anymore. The following days passed in peace and busyness, I gradually adapted to the identity of "Mrs. Luc", and also began to get used to the luxurious but lonely life in Van Dinh Cong Quan. Until one day, my phone suddenly rang. It was my mother calling. Her voice was urgent and worried, making my heart ache.
"Nim Niem! Where are you? Are you okay?"
“That guy Chu Hao… was fired from the company!”
"His mother even ran to our house and made a fuss, saying it was all my fault!"
"And you said you were clinging to rich people so you turned around and used your connections to oppress them!"
After listening, I was not surprised at all, because with Luu Thuy Lan's personality, it was bound to happen sooner or later that she would cause chaos.
“I'm okay mom, don't worry.”
I gently reassured her, trying to make her feel more secure.
"They caused the consequences themselves, it has nothing to do with the child."
I didn't tell my mother that I was married to Luc Canh Tham, because it all happened so fast, I was afraid that my parents would not be mentally prepared and would be frightened. I want to wait for a more suitable time, then slowly tell them.
“It's okay to be okay, it's okay to be okay…”
My mother breathed a sigh of relief, her voice also softened.
“That kind of person, stay away from him in the future and don't have anything to do with him again.”
