Chapter 10
Chapter 10 — Please Don't Take Three Steps Back
One time I went to the crime scene in the middle of the night and I had a lot of blood on my body. Returning to the department, afraid of irritating him, I deliberately detoured to avoid the forensic room. As a result, Luc Van Chu chased after him. He stood at the end of the hallway, a little ways away, looking at me. I said: "Don't come over here, let me go change first." But he still walked towards me step by step. His face was very pale, but his eyes were very determined. Finally, he stopped in front of me, arms around me.
“I can do it.”
My throat is stinging: "Don't force it." He said: “It's not forced.”
“It's because I want to get close to you.”
I hugged him tightly. The hallway lights were still on, the sound of typing on keyboards could be heard from the duty room, and there was the sound of people rushing past outside. Our lives are still busy, still messy, still interrupted by unexpected cases. But I no longer misunderstand his silence. He also no longer locks himself behind a mask. Later, one day I turned over his old notebook. The last page has an additional line of text.
"Tham Tri confessed his love for the second time, I agreed."
There is another sentence below.
“From now on, every time, I will listen clearly.”
