Chapter 2
Chapter 2 — Reciting Remembrance Find Mother
I'm afraid that if I speak out, the hard-won peaceful days will be destroyed. It wasn't until later that I understood that degenerated emotions are like alcohol, trying to swallow it only hurts yourself. If I need to stop, I have to stop. I picked up my daughter from the bed and turned around to leave. But he suddenly got angry and grabbed my wrist with a strong force that was scary.
“Me and Tieu Lam have nothing!”
“Come home with me.”
He locked me in the villa and took away all communication devices. I struggled as hard as I could, but my weak postpartum body couldn't resist at all: "Giang Dien Xuyen, are you crazy!?" Tieu Lam stood next to him and suddenly spoke.
“Sir, the lady's symptoms seem like postpartum depression……”
“I have experience, I will take good care of you and your ladyship.”
The door is locked. He stood outside for a long time, in the end there was only the sound of footsteps fading away. Maybe he doesn't have the face to see me anymore, or maybe he's afraid that as soon as I see him, I'll mention leaving again. From that day on, Giang Dien Xuyen rarely came home. From that day on, I fell deeper into hell. The next day, Tieu Lam brought in breakfast. Seeing that I hadn't touched a piece, he suddenly burst out laughing.
"Co Dao, your mood is so unstable, it wouldn't be good if you hurt the child."
Before I could react, she quickly walked to the crib and picked up my daughter.
“What are you doing!”
I rushed forward but she leaned to avoid me. She hugged my daughter and stood at the door, her eyes both pitiful and proud.
"Mr. Giang told me that you need to rest."
The door behind her made a "click" sound and was locked. I frantically banged on the door: "Give me back my child!" Outside, there was only the sound of my daughter's cries growing farther and farther away. From that day on, every day I only had ten minutes of breastfeeding before I could touch my daughter. Tieu Lam always stood next to me, staring at me like he was supervising a prisoner. Until I first discovered that there was a large bruise on my daughter's arm. From that day on, I continuously discovered large and small injuries on my daughter's body. Pinholes, burns, bruises, pinch marks. Every time I lost control of my questioning, in return I received only light slander from Tieu Lam.
“Miss, are you hallucinating again?”
"It's clear that this is the wound caused by your loss of control yesterday. Even if I wanted to stop it, I couldn't stop it."
I couldn't bear it anymore. Finally, I waited until Giang Dien Xuyen returned late at night. I stood behind the door crying for his help.
"Giang Dien Xuyen! Save your daughter, Tieu Lam is always mistreating her!"
There was silence outside for a moment, then his tired voice rang out.
“Dao Dao, Tieu Lam told me everything.”
“You need to calm down.”
“Don't continue to harm your child, and don't… slander others.”
My heart is completely cold. The last time, the girl's whole body was red and swollen, with blisters one after another looking extremely scary. Like being burned. I went completely crazy, using my body to hit the door, screaming for Tieu Lam to return my child. Tieu Lam hugged her crying daughter until she appeared in front of the door, behind her was Giang Dien Xuyen with a pale face.
“Sir,” her eyes turned red, raising her also burned hand, “lady threw the baby into boiling water, I was useless, couldn't stop her..."
Giang Dien Xuyen looked at the blisters covering her daughter's body, and the last bit of trust in me disappeared. He grabbed the child and looked at me like a monster.
“Co Dao, because you want to leave me, you won't forgive even your own child!?”
“You really disgust me.”
The door was once again tightly locked, just like my heart. Half a year later, so that Tieu Lam would not continue to harm her child, I lived like a puppet on strings.
“Miss Lam, please let me look at my child for a moment, just once.”
She looked down at me from above: "Kneel down and clean the floor with your hands." I immediately followed suit, wiping until my fingernails popped out, my ten fingers were bloody, before she brought the child up for me to look at for ten minutes. She told me to go east, I didn't dare go west. I grit my teeth and endure. Until the day of my daughter's first birthday party, I carried out the plan I had prepared for a year. Taking advantage of the crowded party, I picked the door lock and took my daughter away. Tieu Lam and Giang Dien Xuyen were entertaining guests. I changed into cleaning staff's clothes and put my daughter in the trash can. I walked step by step towards the big gate. Along the way, no one paid attention to me, my heart beat faster and faster. Finally, I pushed the trash can out of the Giang family's big gate! Tears of excitement welled up in my eyes. I hugged my daughter and ran like crazy. Running to the corner, my breath suddenly caught. The person who was supposed to come to my rescue never appeared, and Tieu Lam was standing quietly in the alley, behind were two tall men dressed in black. The corners of her lips carried a strange but familiar smile.
“Co Dao, it's exactly as I predicted.”
