Chapter 8
Chapter 8 — The Day I Locked the Villa Door
The price was pulled askew. A row of pink balloons fell down. Two balloons exploded. The sound resounding in the quiet yard was especially deafening. It's like the end of this whole wedding. After Tran Hao's family left, guests also began to rush out. No one runs. But it all goes very fast. More than two hundred people were like a stream of impatient water, rushing towards the small gate. Someone leaned over and pushed past. Someone walked and covered their face with a gift bag. The livestream girl was also mixed in with the crowd. But she didn't turn off the livestream. The camera was still pointing straight at my face. His mouth opened and closed several times, and finally managed to forcefully say one sentence:
“Everyone… I really didn't know it would turn out like this…”
Comments in the livestream were completely chaotic. Back and forth, only a few words remain.
“Ex-wife's house.”
“I lost all face.”
Fifteen minutes later, the guests in the yard were more than half gone. The remaining people... Are the ones who can't walk anymore. Tien My Phuong sat down next to the stage. The red cheongsam is wrinkled, the silk flower on the chest is tilted to one side. Her hands gripped the armrests of the chair tightly, her knuckles turning white. Chu Tieu Man squatted in front of the flower wall. The wedding dress's tail stretches to the ground. She didn't cry. But it's like the whole soul has been stripped away. His eyes stared blankly at the ground, not moving. Chu Huc is still standing in the middle of the stage. Next to that small table. The "Authorization of Name Transfer" sheet is still there. His signature. Authorized person: Chu Huc. Right next to it were three pieces of paper I put down. House purchase and sale contract. Notarized gift certificate. Two stacks of papers lying next to each other. One side is empty words. One side is the truth. Zhou Daiguo hasn't left yet. He sat in the front row. Legs dropped from crossed position, hands resting on knees. The facial expression is very unsightly. But not angry. It's more like being forced into an annoying problem and feeling uncomfortable. He raised his head to look at me. His eyes stopped for two seconds. Then stand up. Pull back the hem of your jacket. Go in front of Chu Huc. His voice is not loud.
“This…”
“You did it wrong.”
Chu Huc opened his mouth. But couldn't say a word. Zhou Daiguo didn't look at him anymore. He turned and walked towards the gate. Go to the iron artistic gate. Never turned back. Tien My Phuong jumped up from the chair, stepped on the hem of her dress and almost fell down, staggering two steps after her.
"Uncle Chu! He was also tricked by that woman! We really don't know about this house!"
Zhou Dai Quoc stopped. But don't turn back. He just tilted his head slightly. When he spoke, his voice carried a coldness that dismissed the relationship.
“My Phuong.”
“Don't look for me in this matter.”
“You guys handle it yourselves.”
Having finished speaking, he left. The artistic iron gate gently closes behind. Tien My Phuong stood frozen in the yard. The hand still maintains the outstretched position in mid-air. The sea breeze blows. The white veil on the stage was blown away. I walked down from the stage. The green grass was full of trampled shoe prints. Several wine glasses were overturned, champagne spilled onto the grass, mixed with leaf debris and soil. I walked in front of the flower wall. The wall combines the four words "Hundreds of years of perfect harmony" with white roses. When we got closer, we discovered... The flowers are not real flowers. It's silk flowers. Cheap kind. Slightly gray color. The edges of the flower petals even show excess thread. I took two steps back. View of the entire garden. The red carpet has been stepped aside. At one point, it even flipped completely out of the grass, like an extended red tongue. The bunches of flowers on the wedding gate fell to the ground and were trampled by people. Under the party tent it was extremely chaotic. The food on the table was cold, the fat was frozen on the edge of the plate. This is my villa. It's my garden. It's my home yard. It was turned into a battlefield by the Chu family in just one day. To Dao came over.
“The police will arrive in about fifteen minutes.”
“Are you okay?”
“Go turn off the livestream.”
“Not turned off.”
To Dao shook his head.
“Keep it as evidence.”
I looked at her.
“How many people watch the livestream now?”
To Dao opened the phone and took a look.
“Ninety-six thousand.”
I don't say anything more. Just turn your eyes towards the main door of the villa. Chu Huc is leaning against the door frame. At some point, his suit had red wine on it. A dark red patch spread across the dark blue fabric. He looked at me. Lips moved slightly a few times. he said.
“You did it on purpose from the beginning.”
“You didn't come here today to get your house back.”
“You just want to make me lose face in front of everyone.”
I walked in front of him.
“You took over my house for your sister to live in.”
“Arbitrarily changed the lock on my door.”
“Using my garden to hold a wedding.”
“For your mother to stand in front of more than two hundred people and say that this house was bought by you with your sweat and tears.”
“I even signed the name transfer papers…”
“In a house that doesn't belong to you.”
“Your mother stole things my grandmother left from the dressing table in the bedroom.”
“It's done…”
I looked at him.
“You still asked me if I did it on purpose?”
I lowered my head to look at the red flower on his chest that had shifted completely to one side.
“Since the day I changed the locks…”
“Every single thing you do.”
“Every video I shoot.”
“Every word you say.”
“My security system is all saved for you.”
I raised my head.
“You should feel lucky…”
“Today is my sister's wedding.”
“If not…”
“The person I call will not be the police.”
“It's a lawyer.”
Chu Huc's face turned red. His right hand was raised. Halfway up…
