Chapter 16
Chapter 16 — The Day I Stopped Fasting, They Lost Everything
“I remember I once gave you a chance, just kneel in front of my house, bow your head three times, and I will consider forgiving.”
“But you guys didn't appreciate it, you chose the stupidest path, which is also the fastest path to hell.”
My words were as gentle as the wind, but they were like the final verdict that sealed their fate. Luu Ngoc Mai suddenly stood up like crazy. When she realized that praying was useless, she chose to break the vase and scream the most cruel curses.
“Jiang Chen, you are ungrateful, I am your biological mother and you dare to treat me like that, you will not die properly, you will be beaten by heaven.”
She turned to me, her eyes filled with hatred as if she wanted to tear me apart.
"And that bitch, it's all because of you, you seduced my son, you destroyed my family, I curse you for the rest of your life, no one will marry you, and even if you marry, you won't be able to have children."
Giang Than's eyes immediately cooled down. He lightly signaled, the security captain understood, picked up the walkie-talkie and said a short sentence.
"Act."
The warehouse door opened, a line of police entered, led by a middle-aged officer, his steps decisive as fate. He walked up to the three Chu family members, held out the handcuffs, his voice cold as steel.
"Luu Ngoc Mai, Chu Hao, Chu Le, you are suspected of committing attempted kidnapping, extortion, intentional injury and many other crimes, and are currently under arrest according to the law."
The sound of handcuffs "clicking" rang out, locking their wrists, also locking their entire life of crime. Only at this point did they truly understand what despair was. Liu Ngoc Mai was still screaming like a wild animal. Chu Le was so scared that she lost control and was dragged away like a corpse. Only Chu Hao did not struggle, he raised his head and looked at me and Giang Than with eyes that were poisonous to the bone. That look seemed to say, even if I die, I won't let go. I just smiled softly, without any ripples in my heart. Want to be a devil? I'm afraid he no longer has that qualification. Just as the police were about to take them away, Jiang Chen's chief lawyer appeared again like a final stab. He held out a file, his voice calm but with murderous intent.
"Police officer, this is the latest DNA assessment report that my client just received from abroad, perhaps it will help the case."
The police officer just took a look, his face immediately changed, his eyes looking at Luu Ngoc Mai and Chu Hao became extremely complicated. Luu Ngoc Mai's heart beat loudly, an unprecedented feeling of insecurity enveloped her. DNA, why DNA, what is this all about? The lawyer pushed up his glasses, his lips curled into a cold, devil-like smile, then word by word announced the final sentence.
“Liu Ngoc Mai, after you abandoned Giang Than, you gave birth to a child with your lover, that is Chu Hao.”
“To hide her illegitimate child and appropriate her husband's compensation money, she sold her one-year-old biological daughter, Chu Le, to human traffickers.”
“Then she lied that her daughter was dead, then used Chu Hao to replace Chu Le's identity and raised her as her son for many years.”
"So you are wrong, Chu Hao is not your son, but your daughter, and your real son Giang Than was thrown away by your own hands."
“And Chu Le, your real daughter, was sold by you a long time ago.”
“The person next to you now is your illegitimate son As for the others, one was bought by a child of unknown origin."
“Congratulations, you've been living your whole life for others.”
As soon as the words fell, like a bomb exploding in space, everything collapsed in an instant. Luu Ngoc Mai's mind was blank, she looked at the lawyer, at Chu Hao, then at Chu Le as if she didn't recognize anyone. Finally, she let out a mournful scream that didn't sound like a human voice, her eyes widened, and then she went completely crazy. The cold iron door behind them slammed shut, Chu Hao and Chu Le were thrown into the same detention room, the four white walls and weak yellow light made the air thick with the smell of disinfection and despair. The two people were like two dogs with their spines pulled out, lying on the ground. The lawyer's words were like a bomb from hell that had exploded, crushing thirty years of their lives into ashes. There was nothing left in Chu Hao's head, not empty, but a crazy repeating sentence, "Chu Hao is not your son, but a daughter", each word was like a knife cutting into his brain.
