Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — The Door Lock Changes, Marriage Also Locks
"Chu Canh Hanh, all day today I've been asking you two very specific things."
"Who fixes the powers?"
"If anyone has more people, please contact."
"Who signed it?"
"Someone fixed the office."
"But neither of them was willing to speak completely."
His voice dropped.
"If you want to know anything, I will tell you."
I walked to the dining table and turned on the computer.
"Drag me into all the new home related groups."
"Repair team."
"Bespoke cabinet group."
"Home appliance warranty group."
"Management's repair team."
"Furniture group."
Zhou Canh Hanh paused.
"In those groups there is nothing."
"That's even more convenient."
"Some groups are conversations between me and Trinh Vu."
"I didn't ask to see your private chat."
"So why do you insist on joining groups?"
"Because the decisions in there are all decisions related to my own house."
The other end of the line fell silent. I keep saying:
"Also, all orders, correction slips, delivery slips, contact registration records and payment history, send them all to me by tomorrow night."
"What do you need those things for?"
"Compare."
"Are you investigating me?"
I stopped.
"I was checking to see how many times I ended up being left out."
Chu Canh Hanh's breathing got a little heavier.
"Hua Chieu Ninh, do you have to make things turn out like this?"
"How did it become like this?"
"We are husband and wife. Do you insist on listing everything like you're auditing a project?"
"We are husband and wife."
I repeat again.
"That's why I want to know even more why I have to wait for someone else to notify me about my house."
The other end of the line was silent for a long time. Outside the window, the grill echoed with the sound of clinking glasses, the glass door opened, bringing with it bursts of laughter. I suddenly felt very tired. Not the kind of tired that makes me want to cry. It's like a person standing in front of the door for too long, only to realize that the person inside never thought he should open the door for her. Chu Canh Hanh spoke up.
"I admit that locking the door was because I didn't think carefully."
"What else?"
"It's not appropriate to have Trinh Vu sign for confirmation."
"What else?"
He was silent again.
"The office can be restored to its original state."
"Chu Canh Hanh."
"What I'm asking is not whether it can be fixed or not."
He said nothing. I looked at the computer screen.
"Before I went on a business trip, why didn't you ask me and add Trinh Vu to the family contact list?"
"Why did she come to the new house more than ten times without me knowing even once?"
"Why was the desk that I chose was removed, documents were boxed up, and no one in the group asked for my opinion?"
"Why can she say for me that I don't care, but you believe it?"
Chu Canh Hanh's voice clearly showed frustration.
"Because I'm really busy."
"So I don't want every little thing to bother you."
"Have you ever thought, maybe I want to be bothered?"
He did not speak. I sat on the chair and slowly closed the computer.
"I'm not not at home."
"I am the owner of this house."
"From today, all work related to the new house cannot continue without my confirmation."
Chu Canh's voice Onions are cold.
"I don't believe you."
"When I entered the password today, I didn't feel like you trusted me."
"Do I have to say that?"
"I'm just recounting what really happened."
He was silent for a long time before speaking.
"Tomorrow I will rearrange the chat groups."
"It's not an arrangement."
"Drag me into it all."
"Some groups have already disbanded."
"Then export the entire chat history."
"Chieu Ninh..."
"Didn't you say I could ask anything I wanted to know?"
He said no more. I waited half a minute. Finally, he replied softly: After hanging up the phone, I sat in the dark for a long time. Until the phone screen lit up again. This is a screenshot sent by Chu Canh Hanh. List of members of the general group in charge of repairs. Including me, him, a designer, a project supervisor, and a unit that makes cabinets on request. And there is Trinh Vu. The group name is: New house repair exchange group of Chu Canh Hanh and Hua Chieu Ninh. I stared at Trinh Vu's profile picture. It's a photo taken by the beach. She stood on the shore, her back to the camera, the hem of her dress blowing up a bit in the wind. She never said a single sentence:
"I want to enter your house."
But... She's been in the group for a long time. Already standing among all the people related to this house. It wasn't pulled in until today.
