Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — The Door Lock Changes, Marriage Also Locks
Chu Canh Hanh leaned on the sofa, his face full of fatigue.
"What do you want me to do?"
"Go chase Trinh Vu, take everything down, and then the two of us start over again?"
"Don't rush to write the answer for me."
"You were always like that before. You saw that I was busy so I decided not to ask. You thought it was convenient for Trinh Vu so you decided that she could come. Now you see that I'm angry so you decide for yourself how I want you to handle it."
He paused. I continued to say: "Do you realize, from beginning to end you never asked me what I wanted." Chu Canh Hanh's lips moved slightly. A moment later, he spoke up:
"So what do you want?"
I looked at him.
"I want you to admit this wasn't just a lockout gone wrong."
"It's not like Trinh Vu immediately helped."
"You were the one who brought her into this house, then let everyone get around me."
"You even concluded for me that I wouldn't mind."
Chu Canh Hanh bowed his head. The living room is strangely quiet. The sunlight slowly moved from the tea table to the floor. A moment later, he said:
"At that time I really didn't think that much."
"I know."
"Trinh Vu understands these things, so I think letting her handle it will be faster."
"I know."
"Every time she asked me, I didn't see any problem."
"I know too."
He raised his head.
"Then why are you still..."
"Because you don't think much, doesn't mean those things haven't happened."
I interrupted him.
"Just because you don't see a problem, doesn't mean I have to accept it."
The expression on Chu Canh Hanh's face gradually changed. Perhaps this was the first time he realized that what I was waiting for was not a "Sorry." But I want him to understand that all those things that he considered small things, little by little, pushed me out of this very house. He was silent for a long time. At that moment, the phone suddenly rang. It's a message from the management board's housekeeper.
"Miss Hua, your family member's information needs to be confirmed one last time. There is still a Miss Trinh in the system, will she retain temporary powers during the repair period?"
I pushed the phone in front of Chu Canh Hanh.
"Answer me."
He stared at the message. It didn't move for a long time.
"Stop asking me if I care or not."
"You just tell the management, in this house who has the right, who doesn't have the right."
Chu Canh Hanh held the phone, his knuckles were slightly white. Finally, he typed a line.
"Cancel all Trinh Vu's powers. From now on, only contact the two owners."
As soon as the message was sent, the management quickly responded:
"Received. We processed it."
Chu Canh Hanh put down the phone.
"Is that okay?"
I looked at him.
"This is just the first step."
He frowned.
"What else?"
I opened the computer, pulled the door lock history, the management board's access history, the custom cabinet revision form, and the repair group screenshots into the same folder. I changed the folder name to: Handing over new house. Chu Canh Hanh looked at me.
"What are you going to do?"
I closed the computer.
"Tomorrow at ten o'clock, hand over the new house."
"All the powers, all the changes, all the records, we will compare and explain each thing clearly in front of each other."
I pulled my suitcase and entered the elevator. Before the elevator door closed, I sent Chu Canh Hanh a text message:
"Tomorrow at ten o'clock, hand over the new house."
"All the powers, all the changes, all the books, we will compare and explain each thing clearly in front of each other."
At nine fifty-seven the next morning, I stood in front of my new house. Zhou Canh Hanh had already arrived. He was wearing yesterday's dark gray shirt, the top button at the collar was still undone, and in his hand was holding a stack of orders and a photo of the printed chat history. On the floor of the mysterious area were several pairs of shoes. In addition to his shoes, there were also the black leather shoes of the management butler and the door locksmith's tool box. Trinh Vu stood next to the dining table. Today she didn't wear those gray sneakers, but replaced them with flat shoes. The bag was held in front of her chest, looking like she had just come to coordinate the completion of a procedure that even she herself did not want to show up for. After entering the house, the first thing I did was look at the lock. The screen lights up.
"Authentication successful."
It's still the same voice from yesterday. But... I don't feel like I've returned. Chu Canh Hanh looked at me and said softly:
"The management and locksmiths are both here. Whatever you want to compare, I'll call them over."
I nodded, placing my computer bag on the dining table.
"Check the front door lock."
The worker's family name is Ton, over forty years old. Last night, after receiving Zhou Jingxing's call, he entered my fingerprint again. He opened the management page on the back of the system, pointed to the screen and said:
"Currently the admin account is linked to two people, Mr. Chu and Ms. Hua. Ms. Trinh's family membership rights have been disabled since yesterday. Remote unlock permissions, temporary passwords, and guest authorization permissions have all been invalidated."
I looked at him.
"What's the difference between deactivating and deleting?"
Worker Ton paused for a moment, perhaps not expecting me to ask such a detailed question.
"If just disabled, the system still retains the link history. If deleted, Ms. Trinh's family member account will be completely removed from the device. If she is not added again in the future, she will not be able to see any information about the door lock, nor will she be able to restore her previous permissions."
