Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — The House She Left Behind
“Maybe he will let Liu Shiping come.” “The titular boss of Dinh Hanh.” La Khai asked. "Location?" “Tea shop in the south of the city.” "In the past, when discussing such things, Luong Van Bach always liked to go there." Police Khuong immediately arranged for someone to verify. At first I thought I just needed to take a statement. Unexpectedly, half an hour later, police officer Khuong came to question me. “Duong Duong, do you agree to cooperate once?” My mother immediately pulled me back. "Impossible." “Too dangerous.” Police officer Khuong explained. “We won't let you go alone.” “We will be there.” “You just need to appear within the control range, confirm the other party's documents and words.” My mother still shook her head. “I hurt her once.” “Can't let it go anymore.” When saying this, her fingers clenched very tightly. This was the first time she protected my back in this way. I looked at her, and the place in my heart that had been hard for a long time suddenly softened a bit. “Mom, hiding is not the way.” “They even included my mother's card.” “If we don't pull out the people behind us today, tomorrow something new will hit us on the head.” Ha Ngoc Mai suddenly stood up. “Let me go.” They all looked at her. She wiped away her tears, her voice shaking violently. "Luong Van Bach doesn't necessarily believe Duong Duong." “But he will believe me.” "He knew I was afraid something would happen to Thua Trach, and he also knew I wanted to prevent reporting to the police." “Let me make an appointment with him.” My mother looked at her with complicated eyes. “Eldest sister, are you leaving now to save Thua Trach or to save us?” Ha Ngoc Mai was asked until she was speechless. She opened her mouth and finally spoke hoarsely. "Both." "Thua Trach did wrong, I admit it." “But I also don't want to see you and your mother continue to be controlled by others.” “Ngoc Tran, in the past I always thought it was okay for you to give in a little.” "Anyway, my personality is soft, after all, Duong Duong has the ability." “Now I know it's not okay.” “It's because you're too selfish.” My mother did not say forgive. She just turned away. After thinking, police officer Khuong agreed to let Ha Ngoc Mai call, but the entire process had to be recorded and controlled by the police. Ha Ngoc Mai's shaking hands picked up her phone. She called an anonymous number. The bell rang three times and then connected. On the other end was a man's voice. “Are you done yet?” Ha Ngoc Mai looked at police officer Khuong. He nodded. She swallowed. “Duong Duong agrees to sign.” “But she wants to meet someone who can ensure Thua Trach's safety.” The other end was silent for two seconds. “Has she called the police yet?” Ha Ngoc Mai closed her eyes. "Not yet." "La Khai and his men are still downstairs, not yet in the station." The man laughed softly. “Your son did not kneel in vain.” Ha Ngoc Mai's face turned white. “When will we meet?” The man said. "Tonight at eight o'clock, third floor of the tea shop in the south of the city. Bring the original compensation certificate." “Do not bring others.” “Especially do not bring La Khai.” After the call ended, La Khai's hands clenched into fists. I asked. “Is this voice Luong Van Bach?” He shook his head. "Not." “But I heard it.” “It's Liu Shiping.” Just as police officer Khuong was about to make arrangements, the old phone lit up again. This time it's not a text message. It's a photo. In the photo, Tuong Thua Ze was pressed to the floor of a warehouse. He had a wound on his face, and next to it was a piece of paper. On writing paper. Can't sign tonight, come tomorrow morning to pick up the body. 10 When the photo was sent to the old phone, Ha Ngoc Mai's legs became weak and she almost knelt to the ground. She reached out to grab the phone but was stopped by police officer Khuong. “Don't touch, you have to fix the evidence first.” Ha Ngoc Mai cried and spoke. “That's my son.” “You guys save it.” I looked at Tuong Thua Trach's dusty face in the photo, but I didn't feel gloating at all. He stole my house certificate, forged a signature, and pushed me and my mother in front of the creditor. But seeing him being pressed to the ground, I still felt cold. Someone must be responsible. But you shouldn't be treated like a card by others. Police officer Khuong told his technical colleague to enlarge the photo. Behind the photo is a row of shelves
The iron is blue, and there is also a safety slogan whose paint has peeled off on the wall. La Khai suddenly frowned. “I think I've seen this place before.” Officer Khuong looked at him. "Where?" La Khai looked at the photo for a few seconds. “Previously, Hang Thai had a warehouse of old records.” “Located next to the southern suburban logistics area.” “When he was at the company, Luong Van Bach was in charge of storing mortgage records there.” “Later, the records were digitized, and that place became vacant.” Ha Ngoc Mai immediately grabbed his sleeve. “Then let's get there quickly.” La Khai didn't push her hand away, just spoke in a low voice. “If the photo had just been taken, they wouldn't have revealed the location so clearly.” "Luong Van Bach comes from a background in risk control, he wouldn't make a low-level mistake like this." Ha Ngoc Mai was stunned. Her eyes were full of fear, and also a bit confused because she was forced to stay awake. Officer Khuong nodded. “Verify first, don't act recklessly.” “The line at the tea shop cannot be cut either.”
