Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — The Stolen Heir For Thirty Years
We drove behind the ambulance, keeping just enough distance, like two bystanders watching a play approaching its climax. Arriving at the hospital, the emergency room was in chaos, the cold white light shining down made everything even more tense. Vuong Cam sat in a chair, holding his sobbing child, while Chu Cuong and Chu Chinh Duc stood outside the emergency room, walking back and forth like ants crawling on a hot pan. As soon as he saw us, Chu Cuong's eyes immediately turned red, his voice lowered but was full of hatred.
“What are you still doing?”
“Come to see my family's joke?”
Chu Vu did not answer, he walked straight in front of Chu Chinh Duc, his eyes were so calm that it was difficult to guess.
“Dad, how is mom?”
Chu Chinh Duc coldly snorted, turned his head away, his voice full of contempt.
“There's no need for you to pretend to care.”
"She's still in the emergency room, whether she lives or dies is unknown."
He deliberately spoke harshly, wanting to force Chu Vu to feel guilty. But this time… it doesn't work anymore. Chu Vu looked at him, his voice still calm as water.
"Then I suggest you go and clarify with the doctor right now, just tell the patient that because your youngest son is going away on a business trip, he's so angry that he's sick. So that they can write it down in the medical record for transparency. If there's a dispute in the future, it'll be easier to clearly separate responsibilities."
Chu Chinh Duc's face immediately turned red like a pig's liver, his lips pursed tightly, but he absolutely did not dare to say such a word. If this story spreads out, the Chu family's reputation will not be left to maintain. At that moment, the emergency room door opened and a doctor walked out with a tired look on his face.
“Who are the patient's family members?”
“Here we are!” Chu Chinh Duc and Chu Cuong immediately rushed forward, their urgent voices unable to hide their worry.
“Doctor, how is my mother, is it serious?”
The doctor took off his mask and breathed lightly, his voice somewhat helpless.
“Nothing serious.”
“It's just that emotional excitement causes blood pressure to suddenly increase, leading to temporary fainting.”
"We have managed to lower the pressure, the patient has regained consciousness, there are no major problems."
“If you don't have anything, bring it back, don't take up public health resources.”
Those words were like a resounding slap, hitting Chu Chinh Duc and Chu Cuong straight in the face. Which is emergency, which is critical, turns out to be just a self-written drama. Chu Chinh Duc stood there, his expression extremely awkward, and Chu Cuong couldn't believe it, his voice lost.
“It's impossible, doctor, my mother fainted, so why is she okay?”
The doctor frowned, clearly losing patience.
"What's wrong with your family, do you expect something to happen to the patient?"
"It's okay to say it's okay. If you don't believe it, come in and see."
Having finished speaking, he turned and left, leaving behind a suffocatingly awkward atmosphere. Chu Chinh Duc and Chu Cuong bowed their heads and entered the room, looking like they had just been stripped naked in front of the crowd. Chu Vu and I also followed, entering the cold space of the hospital room. Luu My Lan was lying on the bed, her face was still a bit pale but her spirit was okay, looking at it you knew there was nothing serious. As soon as she saw us, she immediately turned her head to the side, her eyes turned red, and began her familiar performance.
“I don't have a son or daughter-in-law like you!”
"Go away! I don't want to see you!"
Chu Vu did not react, just walked straight to the hospital bed, his voice as calm as nothing.
“Mom, if you're okay, then they Please allow me to go home first, before going to Nanjing there are still many things to prepare."
As soon as the words "Nanjing" rang out, Luu My Lan immediately jumped up, as if she had never fainted.
“I still want to go to Nanjing!”
She pointed straight at Chu Vu's face, her voice sharp as if it wanted to tear people apart.
"I tell you, Chu Vu, as long as I have one breath left, don't leave this house!"
Just as she was making a mess, Chu Cuong's phone suddenly rang, the shrill sound echoing in the quiet hospital room. He angrily picked up the phone, his voice irritable.
“Hello, who is it?”
Not knowing what the other end of the line said, his face immediately turned white as paper. He shouted, his voice filled with terror.
“The project is canceled? How is that possible, isn't it certain?!”
“General Manager Ly? Why did he suddenly change his mind?”
His voice grew louder and louder, filled with panic, like someone standing on the brink. The call ended, he stood there stunned, his lips trembling non-stop.
“It's over… it's really over…”
Luu My Lan was also panicked and quickly asked questions.
“Son, what's going on, what happened?”
Chu Cuong suddenly raised his head, did not answer, just stared at Chu Vu with eyes like he had seen a ghost. There's nothing left in there but primal fear. He pointed straight at Chu Vu, his voice trembling.
“It was you who did it, right!”
“The curse… has begun!”
