Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Trust is not for others to take advantage of
After a business trip, I discovered that the broker was organizing a wedding right in my house, so I immediately called 110. After twenty days of returning from a business trip, the new house that I had spent more than 1,000,000 yuan to renovate was covered with the red word "Happy". The broker, wearing a groom's suit, leisurely stepped on my carpet and calmly said:
"If the house is empty, it's fine. Is it okay if I borrow it for a wedding one day?"
His wife sleeps in my master bedroom. His relatives opened my wine and drank it. Furthermore, he took a photo of my pink book and impersonated the landlord to sign the rental contract. I was so angry that I burst out laughing. Immediately call 110. If they like to turn other people's houses into wedding rooms like that... Then I will give them all a "wedding room" with iron doors and iron bars for free. After twenty-one days of returning from a business trip, on my front door were two bright red words of Joy plastered on my front door. The hallway was filled with boxes of wedding candy, boxes of white wine, and several bags of bedding and pillows that had not yet been sealed. I pulled my suitcase and stood in front of the door, looking at those couplets with gold borders for three seconds. Hundred years of happiness. Give birth to a son soon. The wedding is auspicious. The first thought that popped into my head was... Whose wedding was wrongly posted on my door? I raised my hand to enter the password. The screen lights up. Password is incorrect. I entered again. Still only showing four cold words. Password is incorrect. I opened the notes app on my phone and glanced at it. That is the temporary password I gave to Hang Thanh Real Estate. This apartment of mine has just been renovated, and I planned to leave it empty for two months before moving in. Before going on a business trip, broker Trieu Khai Thanh of Hang Thanh Real Estate said he could help me take photos to post the rental ad in advance, and by the way, arrange for someone to come clean and deodorize the formaldehyde. I have signed the key retention authorization agreement. The contract clearly states. Only allowed to take photos, clean and bring guests to see the house. Do not stay overnight. Do not change the locks. Do not move furniture arbitrarily. Do not give keys or passwords to a third person. But now, I'm standing in front of my own door, and I can't even open the door. At that moment, a woman's voice suddenly rang out inside:
"Who is it? The bridesmaid hasn't arrived yet."
I rang the doorbell. More than ten seconds later, the door opened a small crack. A young girl poked her head out. Her face was covered in glitter, her hair was only half curled. She looked at me.
"Who are you looking for?"
I looked at the cluster of red balloons behind her.
"I'm looking for my home."
She was stunned.
"What is your house?"
I calmly replied:
"This is apartment 2801. I'm the landlord, Tham Tri Nghi."
Her face immediately stiffened, she turned around and shouted inside:
"Khai Thanh! The landlord is here!"
Those two words coming out of her mouth made me so angry that I almost burst out laughing. The door was completely opened. The living room was filled with people. On the light gray sofa I just bought, several relatives were sitting around the tea table, biting melon seeds and chatting. The tea table is covered with a red cloth, and the top is filled with peanuts, dried longans, and red apples. The floor was littered with melon seed shells. The sheepskin rug I ordered for more than 30,000 yuan was now trampled into a string of black shoe prints. On the TV wall hangs a wedding photo. I know the man in the photo. It's Trieu Khai Thanh. The broker that Hang Thanh Real Estate sent to take charge of my house. He wore a white shirt, a groom's corsage on his chest, and a pack of cigarettes in his hand. As soon as he saw me, the smile on his face stiffened for half a second, then quickly returned to its natural look.
"Miss Tham, why did you come back today?"
I looked at him.
"I'm going back to my house, do I still have to tell you in advance?"
Trieu Khai Thanh quickly hid the cigarette case behind his back.
"Miss Tham, don't misunderstand. The situation at home today is a bit special."
"In the house?"
I repeat those two words. A middle-aged woman standing next to him walked over carrying a plate of wedding candy.
"Girl, today is a happy day, don't make noise outside the door. Come inside and talk about anything."
I looked at my high heels stepping on the carpet. The heels are very pointed. Every step leaves a dent. I coldly said:
"Take off your shoes."
The woman's face immediately darkened.
"What kind of girl talks like that?"
Trieu Khai Thanh quickly stopped her.
"Mom, stop arguing."
I looked back into the living room. A boy was crawling on my bar, holding a brush and scribbling on the terracotta surface I had just installed. In the kitchen, someone is turning on the cooking hood. On the door of my brand new built-in steam oven, there are two bright red words Joy stuck on it. The main bedroom door is ajar. With just one glance, I saw the crimson blanket spread on the bed. On the wall above the bed is a row of balloons with the words:
"Congratulations to Trieu Khai Thanh and Co Man on their happy wedding."
It must have been the curled-haired girl who opened the door for me just now. I walked straight towards the master bedroom. Co Man immediately blocked in front of me.
"Hey, what are you doing? You can't just enter the bridal room."
I looked straight at her.
"This is my master bedroom."
She pursed her lips.
"Today is only for a day, don't be so petty."
I turned to ask Trieu Khai Thanh:
"Who changed the lock?"
Trieu Khai Thanh frowned slightly.
"There are too many relatives coming in and out, which is inconvenient, so I temporarily added a few fingerprints."
"Who gave you permission?"
