Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — Unanswered Messages
To test my boyfriend's loyalty, my best friend Lam Ha often invites me to play the "second message" game. Looking at a man's text response speed can prove whether he really loves you or not. When she went to eat hot pot, her text message was sent in less than three seconds, and her mysterious boyfriend immediately transferred the "hot pot fund" of 5,200 yuan. As for me, I just sat there stupidly until the food on the table was gone, only to receive three words from Luc Tram Chau: "We're in a meeting." On a stormy day, she just texted "I didn't bring an umbrella", and ten minutes later a luxury car came to pick me up. As I stood in the rain for an hour, Luc Tram Chau texted back: "Go take a taxi yourself." Lam Ha often pokes my head with her finger and says:
“You idiot, someone will take your upper hand and lose you at any time.”
Many times I have spoken up to explain for Luc Tram Chau:
“He loves me very much, he's just too busy.”
After that, I shook her arm again coquettishly: "Besides, I still have you~" Until the night of the bachelor party before the wedding, we were drugged in a bar. Lam Ha worriedly raised the phone:
"Nam Nhiem, I feel so sorry for you. If he still doesn't come this time, please break up, okay?"
I desperately sent a text message asking for help to Luc Tram Chau. Ten minutes later, he rushed in like crazy. I thought, this time I finally won. But he walked past me and hugged Lam Ha tightly:
“Ha Ha, sorry, I'm late.”
I froze on the spot, watching him carry his best friend and leave. It turned out that Lam Ha's mysterious boyfriend who always called "yes" was Luc Tram Chau - my fiance of five years. …… My mouth was tightly covered, I couldn't make even a single sound. It wasn't until everything was over that Luc Tram Chau finished comforting his best friend and carried her into the VIP room right next to the wall. Mixed moans and panting sounds leaked out through the half-closed door. Dragging my body full of wounds that felt like they were about to tear apart, I walked to the door. My hand that was about to push the door stopped when a black card was thrown right at my feet. In the darkness, Luc Tram Chau's hoarse voice rang out:
“Waiter, go buy a box of ultra-thin wrappers and bring them here, quickly.”
I absent-mindedly picked up the card, dragged my exhausted feet and went to the front desk to buy a box of condoms. Pushing the door open, I placed the box on the tea table.
“Here's what you two need.”
The two people kissing passionately on the sofa suddenly stiffened. The moment I saw clearly that it was me, the immersion in Luc Tram Chau's eyes shattered inch by inch.
“Infected… Why are you here?”
“I texted you.”
My eyes fell on their entwined bodies, their voices as quiet as ashes. Luc Tram Chau finally reacted with a start, frantically pushed Lam Ha away, and frantically grabbed some clothes to put on. Taking advantage of the chaos, I pulled out the phone from his pocket and entered my date of birth. The screen lights up. What caught my eye was Lam Ha's chat frame pinned to the top. Next to my profile picture, there was a cold "turn off notifications" icon, 99+ unread messages stabbed into my eyes. Turns out, it wasn't that he didn't want to answer, but that he was too lazy to even look. Look at the overwhelming bias all over the screen, the feelings of self-pity and resentment that were about to spill out of my mouth were swallowed back inside. Luc Tram Chau grabbed my hand, his voice revealing a rare panic:
“Infection, I can explain.”
I didn't say anything, just stared at his chest. Luc Tram Chau has a serious cleanliness problem. He always maintains a cold and self-controlled attitude in sex, never allowing me to leave any marks on his body. One time I accidentally left a hickey and he was so angry that he wouldn't let me come close for three months. But now, on his chest, there are huge, opaque red marks. Seeing that I wasn't crying or making a fuss, the panic in Luc Tram Chau's eyes became even stronger, and he quickly argued:
"Nem Nhiem, Lam Ha was drugged by someone, this is just an unexpected incident."
Lam Ha next to me leisurely sat up, right in front of me putting on Luc Tram Chau's shirt. She walked over and hugged Luc Tram Chau's neck, looking at me and smiling:
“If you've seen it all, then there's no need to hide it from you anymore.”
"Let's get acquainted again, Luc Tram Chau, my boyfriend."
Luc Tram Chau shouted: "Shut your mouth for me!" Not only did Lam Ha not listen, she also picked up the box of condoms on the table to look at it and laughed sarcastically:
"As expected, Luc Tram Chau hasn't touched you much yet, you don't even know his size. Buying him this small, are you planning to strangle him to death?"
"Lam Ha, I told you to shut up, did you hear me?"
Luc Tram Chau's eyes were bloodshot and he reached out to squeeze her neck. Lam Ha smiled charmingly and caressed the back of his hand:
“Don't be so cruel, when I strangled you just now, your moans were much more soothing than now.”
“Go away!”
Luc Tram Chau was completely mad and threw her hard out the door. Then he turned around and took my hand:
"Nhiem Nhiem, believe me, I'm just a temporary devil that made me..."
Before he finished speaking, relying on the light coming in from outside the door, he finally clearly saw the dirty blood stains on my body. Luc Tram Chau's pupils contracted, his eyes filled with sadness:
“Infection, why are you injured like this?”
I avoided his touch, his voice was emotionless:
“If you're not careful, you'll fall.”
“Wait for me here, I'll go get you a first aid kit.”
Luc Tram Chau's eyes turned red, he carefully picked me up, placed me on the sofa, and rushed out of the room. I don't know how long it took, but the pain belatedly came. I couldn't see anyone for a long time, so I huddled in a daze. Accidentally dialed Luc Tram Chau's number. This time, he picked up the phone a second later. Chapter 2 On the other end of the phone, Luc Tram Chau's voice was warm and gentle, but he wasn't talking to me:
"You were so excited just now that you were injured. Be good, don't move, I'll apply the medicine."
Lam Ha's cooing voice rang out:
"Why are you worried about me? Nhiem Nhiem is still waiting for you."
Luc Tram Chau smiled faintly:
"Nem Nhiem has a gentle nature, it's best to wait for someone else. It's not like your ancestor."
Feeling nausea rising in my throat, I decisively hung up the phone. The screen is completely black. I looked at the mess on the ground, forcing out a smile that was even more unsightly than crying. Yes, I'm best at waiting for him. But the rotten feelings cannot return to the way they were before, the echoes can never wait, and I don't want to wait anymore. I picked up the phone and calmly dialed number:
“Hello, I want to call the police.”
The white light of the police station shone on my body, chilling me to the bone. The policeman tapped on the table.
“When something big like this happens, where are the family members?”
I opened my mouth, just about to say I no longer have family. Then the door was pushed open and Lam Ha walked in wearing high heels.
“I'm her best friend, I was also at the scene, if you have anything to ask, just ask me.”
The police looked at me covered in blood and mud, then looked at Lam Ha wearing gorgeous makeup:
"You were also at the scene, why weren't there any injuries?"
