Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — 7 Fingerprints Found In My New Home
The convenience store owner looked at me. Frowning slightly.
“Miss Lam.”
“The child cried like that.”
“Say something slowly.”
Khuong Le pointed straight at Chu Canh Tinh.
“She stole documents.”
“Who stole?”
Chu Canh Tinh hugged the file bag tightly in his arms.
“This is something in my brother's house.”
I stepped forward. The voice was very calm.
“Chu Canh Tinh.”
“Give me my things back.”
“If you return it now, I will consider it as if you were forced to the point of confusion by your mother.”
She raised her head.
“So will you let me stay?”
Chu Canh Tinh slowly stood up. The troubled look on his face gradually disappeared.
“Then tomorrow I will give these to Canh Xuyen.”
“Let him know what you're secretly doing outside.”
I calmly replied:
“You just give it to him.”
Chu Canh Tinh was stunned. I continued:
“It's okay to give it to your mother.”
She tightened her grip on her file bag.
“Aren't you afraid?”
I looked at her. The corners of the lips curled slightly.
“The thing I fear the most…”
“I was sitting on my sofa drinking soup during the day.”
Chu Canh Tinh looked at me. His eyes were like the first time he really knew me. Khuong Le tried to rush forward and snatch the file bag. But Chu Canh Tinh suddenly turned around and ran straight into the rain. Even two suitcases were left behind. The child's cry was quickly drowned out by the sound of the rain. I don't chase. The convenience store owner shook his head and sighed.
“If family matters go to this extent... is it worth it?”
I looked at him.
“If tomorrow someone says I bullied her…”
“Please remember to do me a favor.”
“In her hand she was holding my documents.”
The convenience store owner touched the key chain next to the cashier counter. Say nothing more. After going back inside the store. Khuong Le opened the suitcase that Chu Canh Tinh left behind. There were absolutely no clothes inside. It's every bag of stuff taken from my new house. The towel I bought. I haven't even unpacked the cooking shovel yet. An old ceramic bowl left by my mother. Even the spare key in the nightstand was inside. Khuong Le opened her mouth. The first time I was so angry that I didn't know how to scold him. I picked up the ceramic bowl. A new chip appeared on the bowl's rim. That was my mother's favorite bowl when she was alive. She once said:
“No matter how miserable life is…”
“Women also have to keep a bowl of hot rice for themselves.”
I gently placed the bowl back in the cardboard box. Then send a message to Chu Canh Xuyen.
“Your family searched my bedroom.”
“And took away my documents and belongings.”
Ten minutes later. He replied. Just four words:
“Don't slander indiscriminately.”
I stared at the phone screen for a long time. Finally quietly lock the screen. Then put the phone in the drawer. The next morning. The door lock's after-sales staff arrived on time. He is a guy in his mid-twenties, wearing a blue uniform. On the nameplate on the chest are written two words: Tan Viet. As soon as he entered the store, he glanced at the baking oven inside. Very polite tone.
“Miss Lam, I brought all the system logs.”
“But there is some content that requires the owner's signature to be viewed.”
Khuong Le stood next to him and asked curiously:
“Your after-sales service is so responsible.”
Tan Viet nodded.
“This lock installation order is marked with a special note.”
“Customer records are also protected emergency protection.”
“Who marked that?”
Tan Viet looked at me. Then bow your head and flip the tablet.
“In the system, only the request from the customer is displayed.”
I don't ask anymore. Just sign for confirmation. Tan Viet gave me the tablet.
“Yesterday afternoon at 2:17, someone entered the administrator password.”
“Twenty-two minutes past two, the system recorded five new fingerprints.”
“Two thirty-six minutes, primary user information was modified.”
Khuong Le immediately leaned closer.
“Changed to what?”
Tan Viet opens the operation history. On screen. The flow of information belongs to me. Tu Lam Van... Has been changed to three words. Outsiders. I hold the tablet. Couldn't say a word for a long time. Khuong Le was the first to get angry.
“Outsiders?”
“Who changed that?”
Tan Viet opened the system log again.
“This operation is performed using user number one permissions.”
I frowned.
“The number one user is me.”
Tan Viet shook his head.
“The system shows that at 2:16 yesterday afternoon, the number one administrator was transferred to another fingerprint.”
“Fingerprint number three.”
I clenched my fingers. Fingerprint number three. It's my mother-in-law. Khuong Le was so angry that he pulled his sleeve up to his elbow.
“The Chu family is really good.”
“Just entering the house turns the female owner into an outsider.”
I took a deep breath.
“Can it be restored?”
Tan Viet replied.
“But we need the original lock purchase invoice and installation confirmation.”
“All in new homes.”
“Then I can go with you to read the data directly.”
“But it would be best to have management or the police testify.”
“Because the other party has changed the main admin rights.”
“If you directly delete the data, it is easy for disputes to arise.”
Khuong Le immediately grabbed the car keys. I took the phone to call Chu Canh Xuyen. First call. He didn't answer the phone. Second call. He picked up the phone.
