Chapter 25
Chapter 25 — After Divorce, I Am a Real Angel
The chess pieces were played with in the palm of Mr. Fu's hand.
“To Nghien.” Pho Kinh Nghien suddenly raised his head and looked at me, his eyes were bloodshot, "Do you believe it?"
I don't know how to answer.
“I don't know.” I told the truth, “I don't know who to trust.”
The words of To Quoc Hung, the words of old man Pho, in the end, who is real and who is fake? Or should we say, they all only told part of the truth, and the truth was even more cruel than we imagined.
“You guys just think slowly.” To Quoc Hung took advantage of us not paying attention, suddenly picked up the knife from the ground and rushed towards me, "Anyway, today, you all have to die!"
Pho Kinh Nghien reacted extremely quickly, pushed me away, and rushed up to welcome me. The knife stabbed deep into his shoulder, fresh blood dyed his white shirt red in just a blink of an eye. Pho Kinh Nghien groaned, but still held To Quoc Hung's hand tightly, his other hand formed into a fist, and hit him hard in the face. To Quoc Hung's eyes were blown open, the knife fell from his hand. Pho Kinh Nghien ignored the wound on his shoulder and rushed to wrestle with him.
“Pho Kinh Nghien!” I wanted to rush in to help, but realized I couldn't get involved at all.
The two men fought like wild animals, knocking over tables and chairs, leaving the room a mess. Although Pho Kinh Nghien was injured, he was young and energetic, gradually gaining the upper hand, pinning To Quoc Hung to the ground, throwing consecutive punches.
“Stop fighting!” I rushed to hug him, "You'll beat him to death!"
Pho Kinh Nghien stopped, panted, the cruelty in his eyes gradually disappeared, replaced by confusion and pain. To Quoc Hung lay on the ground, his face covered in blood, unconscious.
"Pho Kinh Nghien, your wound..." I looked at the wound on his shoulder that was still bleeding, my voice trembling.
“It's okay.” He shook his head, stood up on his hands and knees, but staggered again.
I quickly caught him.
“Let's go to the hospital.”
“Slowly.” Pho Kinh Nghien looked at To Quoc Hung who was unconscious, "Report to the police, let the police come and deal with him."
I took out my phone and called the police. After hanging up, looking at Pho Kinh Nghien's pale face, I suddenly didn't know what to say.
“Sorry.” He suddenly spoke up.
I was stunned.
“Sorry, To Nghien.” He looked at me, with guilt, pain, and extreme fatigue in his eyes, "For the past three years, I've been at fault with you. I shouldn't have hidden it from you, shouldn't have taken advantage of you, and I shouldn't have... hurt you."
My nose stung, I turned away.
“What's the use of saying these words now?”
“I know it's not helpful.” Pho Kinh Nghien smiled bitterly, "But To Nghien, I really... love you. Not out of guilt, not to make up for it, I really love you. It's just that I realized too late, the damage has already been done. I don't expect you to forgive me, I just hope... you give me a chance to make up for it."
“Compensate?” I looked at him, "How can I make up for it? Give me back the 23 years I lost? Give me back my dead child?"
Pho Kinh Nghien's face was pale and speechless. In the distance, a police siren echoed. The police quickly arrived, took the unconscious To Quoc Hung away, and called an ambulance to take Pho Kinh Nghien to the hospital. I followed in the ambulance, watching him being wheeled into the emergency room, sitting on a row of chairs in the hallway, my mind blank. Tonight happened There are too many stories, too much information, I can't digest it at the moment. Old Master Fu, To Quoc Hung, Pho Kinh Nghien, To Tuyet, To Quoc Vi... Each of them is lying, each of them is hiding. What is the truth after all?
“To Nghien.”
I raised my head and saw Tran Tinh running quickly, followed by Police Officer Tran.
“Are you okay?” Tran Tinh assessed me from head to toe, looked at the wound on my forehead, frowned, "Are you injured?"
