Chapter 4
Chapter 4 — After Divorce, I Am a Real Angel
But what about you? As soon as To Tuyet returned, she went to tell everyone that I was born in a crow's nest for 20 years, a disgrace to the To family. The other end of the line was silent for a few seconds, Mrs. To's voice softened: "Nien Nghien, I have no choice, Tuyet Nhi has suffered so much outside, I have to make up for it..."
“So I deserve to be sacrificed?” I interrupted her, “Okay, no need to say anymore. From now on, everyone goes their separate ways. By the way, tell To Tuyet, I've given her the position of Deputy Lady, tell her to try her best."
After speaking, I hung up and blocked all contact methods of everyone in the To family. The world is quiet. I looked at the clock, nine thirty. It's time to depart. At the door of the Civil Affairs Department, I arrived ten minutes early. Pho Kinh Nghien had not yet arrived, I stood under the shade of a tree, watching young couples go back and forth, some sweetly walked in hand in hand to get married, others with red eyes, others walked out to get divorced. In the current situation, it's just that. At nine fifty-five, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom rushed forward and suddenly braked on the side of the road. The car door opened and Pho Kinh Nghien, wearing a black vest with a gloomy face, stepped out. He was very tall, nearly 1m9, with broad shoulders and a narrow waist. Just standing there gave off an oppressive aura. The five senses are deep and sharp, especially those eyes, when looking at others, they always carry scrutiny from above looking down. At this moment, his eyes were filled with blood, his chin was covered with dark blue beard, as if he hadn't slept all night.
“To Nghien.” He took a few steps in front of me, grabbed my wrist, with such force that it almost crushed the bones, "Haven't you messed around enough yet?"
I raised my head to look at him, suddenly realizing that I had never really looked closely at this face. For the past three years, I have always bowed my head in front of him, like a beggar waiting for alms, afraid that doing something bad would make him angry. Now there's no need anymore.
“Deputy President, please let go.” I said calmly.
Not only did he not let go, but he held me tighter, pulling me towards him: "Follow me home. I'll pretend I haven't heard about the divorce. From now on, you can calm down a bit and the position of Deputy Lady is still yours."
“I don't want it.” I tried my best to pull my hand back, but I couldn't escape, "Pho Kinh Nghien, you hurt me."
“Pain?” He sneered, “To Nghien, do you know the pain now? When you said those words to me at the hospital, did you think I would be in pain?
I almost laughed out loud.
“Deputy General, you really know how to joke. Do you know pain? If he knew pain, last night he wouldn't have said on the phone 'leave her alone, she won't die'. If you knew pain, you wouldn't have treated me like an invisible person in the past three years. If you knew how painful it was, you wouldn't have saved my name in your phone as 'maid'!”
The last sentence, I almost screamed. The resentment, anger, and unwillingness that had been suppressed for three years, at this moment, completely exploded. Someone around me looked over. Pho Kinh Nghien's face turned gray. He covered my mouth with one hand and pulled me towards the car.
“Shut up!” He lowered his voice, his eyes fierce, "To Nghien, I give you one last chance, now get in the car and go home with me, I'll pretend nothing happened. If not—”
“What if not?” I removed his hand, raised my head and looked straight at him, "If not, will you kill me?" Let the To family destroy it product? Pho Kinh Nghien, do you think I'm still afraid? For the past three years, I've lived like a farce. Now I don't want to laugh anymore, is that okay?"
He stared at me, like he was meeting me for the first time. After a while, he let go, his voice cold as ice: "Okay, To Nghien, you're very good. Divorce? Okay, I'll do it for you. But don't regret it.”
“The only thing I regret is marrying you three years ago.”
This statement angered him completely.
