Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — After the Apocalypse, I Raised the Wrong Lich King
In the fifth year of the apocalypse, I picked up a talking zombie. He is very handsome, but his mind is not very good, he always thinks he is human, and wants to protect me. I took him back to the base. My teammates were so scared that they welded three hundred layers of iron doors that night. Every day I diligently use the mutant animal's brain to feed him, raise him until his skin is shiny, and I show off to everyone I meet:
“Look, there's my kid, doesn't he look very spirited?”
Until one day, a wave of zombies surrounded the city. He kicked away three hundred layers of iron doors with one kick and roared to the outside. All the zombies gave a "thud" and simultaneously knelt down in front of me as if wishing them an early New Year. I slowly covered my face:
“Wow, my kid has a future, he even knows how to bring his juniors!”
Teammates collectively turned to stone. Sister, calm down, he wants to let you be his wife! 1. I named my zombie Mac Tran. Because when I picked him up, he was standing in the middle of a pile of ruins. Dust filled the sky and fell onto his black coat, looking like a still apocalyptic water painting. He has a face that shouldn't exist in the end of the world. Clean, handsome, just empty eyes, cold white skin without any life. I used a ham sausage to lure him back to the base. As soon as my teammate Lam Vi saw him, all his hair stood up and he raised the steel pipe in his hand:
"To Niem! Are you crazy? What did you bring back to the base!"
I covered Mac Tran behind my back and said very reasonably:
“He's different, he can talk!”
I patted Mac Tran's back:
“Come on, show them the show.”
Mac Tran turned his head, his empty eyes looked at me for a moment, then very slowly uttered two words:
“Hungry… hungry…”
Lam Vi's face turned green:
“It's hungry! It wants to eat us! Did you hear that!”
The other teammates were also so scared that their faces turned pale and they kept backing away. But my eyes lit up again. Being able to communicate shows intelligence. I locked him in a small storage room in the deepest part of the base, outside there was a sign: 【Private pets, please do not feed】 My teammates were not at ease. Lam Vi took the lead and welded the door in the night, using all the iron plates in the base to weld the door into three hundred layers. I looked at the door that was thicker than the city wall and fell into deep thought. This is great, delivering meals every day is also a big project. My job every day is to follow the search team out, specializing in finding the heads of mutant animals. I discovered that Mac Tran was not interested in anything else, but especially loved brains. Every time I brought a bowl of hot brain soup and passed it through the tiny feeding box on the iron door, he obediently sat on the ground, used the spoon I gave him, and ate each small piece. After eating, he even took the bowl out. I raised him very well. His pale skin also revealed a barely perceptible shine. Every time Lam Vi passed by and saw me standing in front of the iron door asking kindly, he would look at me with eyes like he was mentally ill.
“To Niem, sooner or later you will be eaten by it.”
He warned me fiercely. I pretended not to hear, put my hands on my hips, and boasted proudly:
"Look at my Mac Tran, isn't it very spirited? This fur... no, this skin, how shiny and smooth."
Lam Vi was angry turned around and left. Another member of the team, a girl named Tieu Vu, carefully approached:
"Miss Niem, he... really won't hurt anyone else, will he?"
I patted my chest and assured:
"Don't worry, he's very good."
As soon as I finished speaking, there was a loud "bang" from inside the iron door, like someone was pounding on the door with a fist. Tieu Vu was so scared that he trembled. I quickly stopped by the feeding box and looked inside. Mac Tran was standing behind the door, his empty eyes staring outside. Just now Lam Vi stood in that position. I patted the iron door comfortingly:
"Be good Mac Tran, don't be angry, he just spoke a bit loudly."
The banging sound inside stopped. I breathed a sigh of relief, not realizing that Tieu Vu's eyes looking at me had turned from worry to fear. 2. Mac Tran's appetite is getting bigger and bigger, the normal mutated beast's brain can no longer satisfy him. He started to get impatient. Sometimes I couldn't sleep all night, I kept walking back and forth in the small, narrow storage room, my throat emitting a low, suppressed growl. I'm a bit sad. High-level mutant beasts are not easy to find, and the danger factor is also high. That day, Lam Vi's search team brought back bad news.
"We discovered a 'black forest'. The plants and animals inside have all mutated and are extremely dangerous. But the supplies are also very rich."
Lam Vi spread out the map during the meeting, his expression serious:
“I suggest we organize a large-scale action and go in at once.”
Everyone was silent. Everyone has heard the fear of the "black forest" for a long time. It is said that level 3 mutated beasts roam the land, and there are almost 10 deaths per person.
“If you don't go, you'll starve!”
Lam Vi slammed the table:
“The food reserves in the base can only last another half a month at most!”
I raised my hand:
“I'll go.”
Everyone's eyes were focused on me. My fighting ability in the team is not considered top, but my ability is very special - friendly to plants. In the forest, I can exert the greatest effect. Lam Vi looked at me, his eyes complicated, and finally nodded:
“Charge her for one.”
The night before departure, I went to give food to Mac Tran. Tonight's dinner was a bland bowl of mashed potatoes. He only took one bite and then pushed it out. I sighed, the way the iron door told him:
"Mac Tran, please bear with it for a moment. Tomorrow I will go find delicious food for you. When I come back, I will bring you a third-grade mutant black chimpanzee brain. I heard that it is the most nutritious."
He didn't react, just looked at me quietly.
