Chapter 7
Chapter 7 — After the Apocalypse, I Raised the Wrong Lich King
Every day they just quietly "patrol" the fields, scaring away all the mutated birds and animals that dare to come and steal. The visual style has a very sinister take on it for a while. People diligently plow the fields, zombies stand guard in the next room. People who don't know us think we have long achieved harmonious coexistence between humans and nature. As for me, I have a new job — researching the Lich King.
“So, you really don't remember anything?”
I peeled an apple for him and asked for the Nth time. Mac Tran sat across from me, holding the elementary Vietnamese book I gave him in his hand, reading very passionately. He shook his head.
“Just remember a few fragments.”
He said:
“Fire… lots of people… also… needles…”
He spoke very slowly, as if trying to remember. My heart moved slightly. Fire? Needles? Sounds like some kind of lab. Could it be that when he was alive, he was a scientist? Or a test subject?
"So do you still remember your name? I gave you the name Mac Tran."
He put down the book and looked at me seriously:
“It's Mac Tran.”
You seem to really like this name.
“Okay.”
I gave him the peeled apple:
“So do you know who is behind the manipulation of the zombie wave?”
Mentioning this matter, Mac Tran's eyes immediately cooled down.
“Another… ‘king’.”
He said slowly:
“Weaker than… me.”
When he said the last two words, his voice carried an unquestionable arrogance. As expected of the Lich King, he seems to be so unusually elegant.
“So why does he want to attack us?”
“He wants… you.”
Mac Tran's face became even more unsightly. I almost choked on an apple:
“Me? Why?”
I'm just an ordinary person, what's worth remembering another Lich King?
“Your blood… is very fragrant.”
Mac Tran's throat rolled, his eyes stared at my neck, then added a sentence:
“For me.”
I instinctively covered my neck. Why does this sound like the speech of a pervert?
“So you smelled my scent and came to me?”
He nodded honestly. Okay, case solved. When I first picked you up, it wasn't fate at all, it was my "Tang Tang flesh" body that lured you here.
“So the other king is also attracted to my blood?”
“Yes.”
Mac Tran's eyes darkened:
“He wants to... eat me, become stronger.”
I shivered.
“What about you?”
I looked at him:
“Do you want to eat me too?”
The room immediately became quiet. Mac Tran looked at me intently. In those deep black eyes, there were intense emotions that I didn't understand. There is desire, there is struggle, there is... suffering. After a long time, he spoke in a hoarse voice:
“Want.”
He admitted. My heart suddenly sank.
“But…”
He reached out and used his cold fingertips to gently caress my cheek. His eyes carried an almost respectful respect:
“I want to… protect you even more.”
He bent down, touched his forehead to mine, and closed his eyes.
“To Niem.”
He muttered:
“Don't be afraid of me.”
I looked at his handsome but pale face close at hand, feeling the suppressed but intense emotions coming from him. I sighed, reaching out to hug his neck.
“I'm not afraid of you.”
I said:
“But the next time you dare look at me with those eyes, I will punish you for a month without eating brains.”
His body stiffened, he immediately opened his eyes, feeling sorry for himself I. Like a big dog that has had its flesh and bones stolen. I couldn't help but laugh. What is the Corpse King, what is the lady oppressing the camp? In the end, you are still my Mac Tran, that slightly stupid, yet slightly adorable person. 9. We decided to take the initiative. Waiting to die is not my style. Furthermore, I always feel that the "new king" hidden in the darkness has a thousand-thousand connection with Mac Tran's past. Mac Tran agreed. As he said:
“Solve him, no one will fight over you anymore.”
This statement sounds strange, but the principle is correct. Before leaving, I fully prepared. Tieu Vu and the others stuffed me with a backpack full of weapons and medicine.
"Miss Niem, you two must return safely!"
Tieu Vu said with red eyes. I patted her shoulder:
"Don't worry, have you forgotten who is standing next to me?"
Ma Tran next to me nodded to her as a greeting. Tieu Vu was immediately afraid to speak anymore. Sigh, my kid's fate still needs improvement. We did not bring any human comrades, nor did we bring that army of ten thousand zombies. According to Mac Tran:
“Too slow, cumbersome.”
He directly carried me, quickly passing through high-rise buildings in the abandoned city as if walking on flat land. The wind roared in my ears. I hugged his neck tightly, feeling like I was on the most exciting roller coaster ride.
“Where are we going?”
I asked loudly.
“His... lair.”
Mac Tran's voice came clearly:
“In the city center.”
We arrived quickly. It was a skyscraper that was completely covered in mutated plants. The symbol of the city in the past now looks like a giant, ferocious monster. At the entrance to the building, there are two rows of tall zombies standing guard. They wore tattered military uniforms and held rusty rifles in their hands, looking like some kind of elite guard. Seeing us, they immediately let out a threatening roar. Mac Tran put me down and covered me behind his back.
“Stand still, don't move.”
You don't even need to do much. Just one step forward, the strong pressure radiating from his body caused the group of elite zombies to immediately kneel on the ground, their bodies constantly trembling. Rank suppression is just that absurd.
