Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — After the Fire Ends, I Return
"The day I woke up in the hospital. I said I saved him, his mother said I just woke up and my mind was not clear. Lam Vi cried and said she was so scared. He said, stop arguing, the grace of saving lives does not discriminate between each other."
Luc Canh Xuyen felt like someone had slapped him. I continued: "After that I stopped talking. Because I realized, you only believe what you want to believe." He placed the USB in my palm: “I don't know.”
"It's because I don't want to know."
Luc Canh Xuyen bowed his head, his voice hoarse: "Hua Duong, I admit I overdid it this time. Van Lan Hall, wedding dress, and your mother's shop, I will handle it. You divorce Tham Duat, we will re-marry." I looked up at him: "What makes you think I still need you?"
“Because of our seven years.”
“Seven years is not an exemption from death.”
He panicked: "So what do you want me to do? Can I apologize to you? I will apologize to you in front of everyone." I asked: "What about Lam Vi?" Luc Canh Xuyen was silent.
"I still can't bear to leave her."
“She is not in good health.”
“The wound on my back is not good either.”
He was speechless by this sentence. The side door of the room suddenly opened. Lam Vi walked out, her eyes red.
“Canh Xuyen, I asked you to come here, so you can hear these words?”
Luc Canh Xuyen's face changed: "Why are you here?" Lam Vi looked at me: "Duong Duong, are you satisfied? You finally made Canh Xuyen doubt me." I looked at her: "You sent the photo?" She laughed, tears falling: "I sent it. I just want to see if Canh Xuyen will abandon me after knowing the truth." Luc Canh Xuyen's voice was low: "Vi Vi, what happened that year?" Lam Vi walked step by step in front of him: "Do you really want to ask me? You never said it before, if I don't want to say it, won't you ask?"
“This is not the same.”
"Where is the difference? Is it because Hua Duong married someone else and you panicked, so you remembered her good points?"
Luc Canh Xuyen did not object. The cruelty in Lam Vi's eyes finally could no longer be hidden.
"Yes, I saw her rush in to save you. I also saw her back on fire. I was so scared, I didn't dare go in. Then my mother asked who discovered you. I cried, so she thought it was me. Canh Xuyen, this is not your fault."
Listening to her lightly describe the truth that had been buried for the past three years, a wave of nausea arose in my stomach. Luc Canh Xuyen stared at her: "Why don't you explain?" Lam Vi cried: "I'm afraid you think I'm useless. Hua Duong already has you, I have nothing. I just want you to look at me a little more."
“So you used the grace of saving her life to trick me?”
"I'm not lying to you, everyone just misunderstood."
I burst out laughing. Lam Vi immediately turned to me.
"What are you laughing at? Hua Duong, don't act noble. You saved Canh Xuyen, didn't you also make him love you?"
I replied: "What I saved was a life, not a sentiment." Her face changed. Luc Canh Xuyen held the USB tightly, the blue veins on the back of his hand appeared.
“Vi Vi, you disappoint me so much.”
Lam Vi seemed to be stabbed by that sentence and suddenly raised his hand to hit me. Tham Duat walked in from the main door and grabbed his wrist her: "Miss Lam, don't touch her." Lam Vi struggled: "Let me go!" Tham Duat threw his hand away, she staggered back, tripping over the flower wall. Luc Canh Xuyen instinctively caught her. Tham Duat saw that movement and turned to me: "Let's go?" I nodded. Luc Canh Xuyen quickly called me: "Hua Duong, wait. I can explain." I held up the USB: "Let's leave the explanation for the court." His expression changed: "Are you going to sue Vi Vi?"
