Chapter 27
Chapter 27 — After the Fire Ends, I Return
Khuong Van walked behind me, muttering: "This woman's mouth sounds like she's hired, I can't stand not spending enough money." Aunt Hai heard this and her face darkened: "Miss Khuong, the Tham family's banquet, outsiders are not allowed in." Grandma Tham spoke up: "She is Duong Duong's friend, I invited her." Aunt Hai immediately shut up. Uncle Hai, with bruises on his face, sat to one side, his eyes sinister.
"Mom, there's already enough people today, so speak clearly. Hua Duong and A Duat's marriage was originally a sham. It's good for the Tham family's reputation to resolve it soon."
Grandma Tham asked: "What happens when the problem is resolved?" Uncle Hai replied: "Ah Duat is old, so he should marry a relative. As for Ms. Hua, the Tham family can compensate some amount." Khuong Van smiled faintly: "Compensate the family of mass producers? Luc Canh Xuyen compensated, Second Uncle Tham also compensated, Hua Duong looks like a junk buying station?" Aunt Hai slapped the table: "You're so brave!" I looked at Uncle Two: "How much compensation?" The whole lobby was silent. Clearly Second Uncle didn't expect me to ask that, his eyes flashed with contempt.
“Ten million yuan, enough for you and your mother to not worry about food and clothing for the next half of your life.”
I nodded: "That doesn't sound much." Aunt Two sarcastically said: "Don't pretend to be noble. Have you ever seen so much money from someone with a background like yours?" Tham Duat tried to open his mouth, but I raised my hand to stop him.
“Uncle Hai, is ten million to buy me out of the Tham family, or to buy me to keep my mouth shut?”
Uncle Two's face changed slightly: "What do you have to keep your mouth shut?"
“For example, the secret spell reported to the Luc family resulted in Tham Van's death.”
He sneered: "Eating snails is nonsense."
“For example, I knew Tham Van had a missing daughter, but never looked for her.”
His tapping motion on the table stopped. Aunt Hai immediately shouted: "Hua Duong, what nonsense are you talking about? Tham Van's daughter died a long time ago." I stared at her: "How can Second Aunt be so sure?" She choked. Grandma Tham silently observed them. Uncle Two suddenly laughed: "Hua Duong, don't say you're going to say you're Tham Van's daughter? You're too cheap to accept this relative." I didn't reply. Thinking I was guilty, he stood up: "Mom, have you seen? Because she wanted to stay in the Tham family, she dared to make up any lie." Outside the door, Luc Canh Xuyen's voice suddenly rang out: "She's not making it up." Luc Canh Xuyen walked in, holding a file in his hand. Mother Luc followed behind, her face pale as a corpse. Uncle Hai frowned: "Luc Canh Xuyen, what are you doing here?" Luc Canh Xuyen looked at me: "I came to repay my debt." He placed the file on the table.
"This is an old medical record. Three years before Hua Duong saved me, the doctor did a blood type test and noted the old wound. The old semicircular birthmark on her back completely matches the record of the newborn baby who survived the villa fire twenty-four years ago."
Thai Hai panicked: "This doesn't prove anything." Tham Duat took out another document: "The DNA comparison results are also available." Uncle Hai turned his head to look at him: "Since when?" Tham Duat replied: "When you were busy destroying evidence." Grandma Tham received the result sheet, her hands shaking. The butler cleared his throat and read aloud:
“Confirmed that Ms. Hua Duong and Mr. Tham Van are related by blood child.”
The faces of several people in the hall simultaneously changed. The tea cup in Aunt Hai's hand fell to the ground. Uncle Hai stared at me like he saw a ghost. Khuong Van covered her mouth, tears welling up: "Duong Duong, you're really home." Grandma Tham stood up and walked in front of me. This time, she hugged me.
“Tieu Duong, grandma has been looking for you for twenty-four years.”
I stiffened for a long time, then slowly wrapped my arms around her. Uncle Hai suddenly turned around to escape.
