After Mr. Tuan's opening speech, it was Mrs. Xuân's turn to stand up and respond, a long-standing tradition that the family still preserves on every important occasion. She stood up, holding the microphone in her hand trembling with emotion, looking around the yard full of beloved faces watching her.

"Thank you, children, grandchildren, and everyone who came to celebrate with me today," she began, her voice still shaking but full of warmth. "In her seventy years of life, she has experienced many ups and downs, many joys and unforgettable sadness. But standing here today, seeing all her children and grandchildren gathered together, she feels like the happiest woman in the world."

The applause rang out again, mixed with emotional sniffles from a few elderly relatives sitting in the front row. Ms. Xuân looked towards Thảo Nguyên and Việt Anh sitting next to each other, her eyes were completely gentle.

"I want to share a special story with everyone," she continued, her voice becoming quieter. "Many years ago, when she was a young girl, she had a deep first love, but because of the chaos of war, the two lost each other and went their separate ways. She thought it would forever be just a sad memory, buried in her heart for half a century."

The whole yard listened silently, even the naughtiest little children temporarily stopped playing, caught up in the story being told. Bích Vân stood in the corner of the yard, the camera still raised but her fingers no longer taking pictures, engrossed in listening without missing a single detail. Diệu Anh sat next to her Robotics Club friends, her eyes also shining with undisguised emotion at the timeless love story being told.

"Back then, we met each other through a school cultural event," Ms. Xuân continued, her voice steeped in nostalgia. "He played the guitar very well, and she recited poetry. The two first met on the small stage of the village school, and from then on became closer. She still vividly remembers the thrill of the first time he held her hand, even though fifty years have passed."

Soft laughter mixed with emotion rang out from the crowd at that lovely image of a young Mrs. Xuân that none of the young guests had ever known.

"But fate is wonderful," Mrs. Xuân continued, her eyes shining with a special light, "recently, she discovered that her niece's boyfriend was her grandson. Mr. Bảo Tín, whom she loved deeply in her youth, had a happy life, a warm family in the South, and now, fate has arranged for the unfinished story of our generation to be beautifully continued through your generation."

Surprised whispers spread throughout the yard, many people turned to look at Việt Anh and Thảo Nguyên with surprised and emotional eyes. Mr. Minh stood up, nodded to confirm the story, and Mrs. Hoa smiled kindly, not showing any signs of discomfort at this unexpected attention.

"I invite Mr. Bảo Tín's family, present through his son and grandson, to stand up for everyone to welcome," Ms. Xuân said, her voice solemn, pointing her hands toward Mr. Minh, Ms. Hoa and Việt Anh.

All three stood up amidst the warm applause of the guests. Việt Anh, although somewhat embarrassed by the crowd's sudden attention, still maintained a calm smile and politely bowed to everyone, while Mr. Minh stood next to him, his eyes also filled with tears at this emotional moment.

"I believe that," Mrs. Xuân continued, her voice now steadier, full of faith, "true love, no matter how many difficulties and separations it has to go through, can always find a way to bloom, even if not always in the way we expect. She hopes that Thảo Nguyên and Việt Anh will cherish what they have, learn from the story of the previous generation, so that they never have to regret not having the courage to hold on to their happiness."

Thảo Nguyên stood up, tears rolling down her cheeks, walked over, and hugged her amidst applause and bustling "congratulations" resounding throughout the yard. Việt Anh also stood up, came next to her, held Thảo Nguyên's hand, and both bowed their heads in thanks in front of everyone.

"Thank you," Thảo Nguyên whispered in her ear. "Thank you for everything, forgiving, for giving us the chance to be loved in the light of truth."

Mrs. Xuân patted her granddaughter's back, then turned to hug Việt Anh tightly, surprising him for a moment before smiling back in response to that warm hug. "You too," she told him, her voice full of affection. "From today, I see you as my own grandson, there is no longer any distance."

"I'm the one who should thank you," Mrs. Xuân replied softly, squeezing her granddaughter's hand, her eyes sparkling with both tears and smiles. "Thanks to you, I can have this day, more complete than anything I ever dared to dream of."

After the speech, a series of relatives surrounded Việt Anh and Thảo Nguyên, asking questions about the story and how they discovered this magical connection. Việt Anh, although somewhat embarrassed by the intense attention, still patiently answered each question, recounting a neat version of the journey to discover the truth, cleverly omitting details about the initial sham contract - something the two agreed should only be a private secret within the immediate family circle.

"So you two met through an old photo?" A distant aunt asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity, her hand still holding a piece of cake that had not yet been eaten.

"You could say so," Thảo Nguyên replied, smiling, holding Việt Anh's hand tightly as a way to protect the secret that still didn't need to be exposed to everyone.

The party continued in a joyful and warm atmosphere. Everyone came to congratulate Ms. Xuân, Thảo Nguyên and Việt Anh, and ask about the magical story that had just been told. Mr. Tuan did not forget to tease a few more words, making the whole table laugh, while Aunt Hạnh was busy taking more family photos to preserve this memorable moment, making sure not to miss a smile or a hug on this rare important day.

At the end of the party, when the afternoon sunlight began to turn yellow, Thảo Nguyên and Việt Anh stood alone in a quiet corner of the yard, looking back at the entire bustling, warm scene that had just taken place.

"Can you believe it," Thảo Nguyên said, her voice still a little nervous, "just four months ago, I was standing still at the gate of my house, afraid of having to face another blind date. But now..." She stopped, looked around the yard, where the laughter of both families still echoed, where Mrs.

"Now, we are standing together, in the middle of a story that none of us ever dared to imagine," Việt Anh finished his sentence, smiling at her. "I think this is the clearest proof that sometimes, the best plans are not the most carefully calculated plans, but the plans that let the heart lead the way."

Thảo Nguyên laughed at the unexpected and poetic statement from a person who always worshiped logic and data. She leaned her head on his shoulder and together watched the sunset dye the small yard, where their story, even though it started with a lie, had now become the most beautiful chapter in the life book of both families.

The sunset dyed a warm orange color throughout the yard, covering the strips of bougainvillea hanging along the fence with a shimmering color different from the morning. In the distance, the sounds of children still playing around the almond tree and adults chatting mixed with gentle music from a small speaker, all blending into a warm symphony of family happiness that Thảo Nguyên knew she would remember for the rest of her life.

From inside the house, Mrs. Xuân's voice called out, urging them both to come in and cut the cake with everyone before it got completely dark. Thảo Nguyên held Việt Anh's hand and they both walked in, leaving behind a brief private moment but enough to be engraved in their memories as one of the most beautiful afternoons they had ever had, a quiet milestone marking the official, complete beginning of something much bigger than the four short terms that were written down on an old page not long ago.
