Chapter 14
Chapter 14 — Forty Billion And People Only Ask For A Kitchen
The contract with An Tam requires Moc Bep to achieve a revenue of one billion VND per month for three consecutive months to be on the shelves long term.
Thao looked at the numbers on the board, her face pale.
“We are just over two hundred million.”
"The first month is a test. Next month we will increase selling points."
“You talk as if money and personnel grew on their own.”
"It doesn't grow on its own. I make a plan."
We divide Moc Bep into three lines: family meals, lunch boxes and frozen broth. Thao is in charge of flavor, I am in charge of cost control. We do not run after money-burning promotions, only cooperate with offices that book periodically.
In the second month, revenue reached 680 million. Not enough, but the rate of returning customers increased. Bich Ngoc called and said An Tam would give us more time if we committed to the central kitchen.
I used part of the capital to open a small central kitchen. The contract is in the name of my company and Thao, not related to family assets.
At that moment, Mrs. Huong arrived at Moc Bep.
“I heard you're doing big business.”
I poured tea.
“I'm just trying.”
"Duc Tai wants to change direction. He has experience in project management, can I let him be in charge of the warehouse?"
“That position needs someone with certification and practical food experience.”
“He learns very quickly.”
“You can't hire people just because they're family.”
Mrs. Huong was a bit stunned.
“You talk to me like a customer.”
“Because this is my job.”
She sighed and said that when I get rich, things will change. I don't object. There are changes that are necessary so that others no longer assume that they can walk into my life without knocking.
That night, Minh Khang apologized for his mother. I stopped you.
“You don't need to apologize for my choice.”
“I just don't want you to have to fight them alone.”
"You're not alone. I'm here."
He smiled, then asked if he could try the new braised fish dish tomorrow. I know you never thought money was the only way to help me.
