Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — I'm Not A Loser
La Thai Anh is still bewildered.
“Du Sinh, don't scare me.”
I raised my head to look at her, her eyes were cold and scary.
“Call an ambulance.”
At this point, she frantically looked for her phone. But I called first myself. When the ambulance arrived, neighbors were already standing outside the door. Elevator cameras, hallways, doors... all recorded clearly. When Bui Tranh and Duong Duyet arrived at the hospital, I had just finished the examination. The doctor said there were signs of a threatened miscarriage and needed hospitalization. Bui Tranh's face turned cold.
“I had someone extract the camera.”
“The police will also file a file.”
His voice was low. Duong Duyet was so angry that his eyes turned red.
“This is intentionally causing injury.”
I lay on the hospital bed, my hand still on my stomach, not daring to let go. The baby… is still there. Just that alone is more important than anything. In the evening, Ha Xuyen arrived. As soon as he entered the hospital room, his eyes immediately looked towards my stomach.
“How is the baby…?”
I didn't say anything, just looked at him, his eyes so cold that even I felt strange. He took a step closer, his voice lowered as if coaxing.
“Du Sinh, I didn't mean it.”
"If this matter gets bigger, no one will benefit."
I looked at him, only to find it ridiculously funny.
"No one benefits, it's not beneficial for you, or for Bach Vy."
His face immediately changed, his eyes clearly showing guilt. I didn't say more, just reached for the phone next to my pillow. I opened the camera clip I just extracted and placed it in front of him. The screen clearly displays each frame. In the video, La Thai Anh brought a bowl of soup and pressed close to me. I stepped back, she reached out and pulled me. My back hit the door frame, blood clearly seeping out. The image was so clear that I could see the irritation on her face. Ha Xuyen stared at the screen, silent for a long time without saying anything. I turned off the phone, my voice was so light that it was almost emotionless. This was the first time I told him that word. But when I said it, my heart did not waver. Just looks... clean. He stood there, as if he didn't understand what I just said. I looked up and looked straight at him.
“I told you to go away.”
“From today, you and your mother, whoever dares to come closer to me and the baby, I will report to the police.”
His lips moved slightly, but in the end he couldn't say a word. As he walked to the door, his phone suddenly rang. The hospital room is so quiet that every sound is clear. Bach Vy's voice came out from the other end of the line.
"Auntie, didn't you say there was a way to keep her quiet? Why did she end up in the hospital?"
Every word, as clear as a slap in the face. The next morning, the police came to take a statement, everything happened very quickly. I hand over all the evidence, keeping nothing back. Camera video, recording file, bank statement, lunch box photo. Every single thing is given, not a single detail is missing. Bui Tranh helped me organize my files, everything was clearly classified. In the transparent document bag, it seemed to contain both my stupidity and awakening. He handed me the last page, his voice still as calm as before.
“The divorce petition has been prepared.”
“Registration of property claim has been accepted, mortgage has been stopped.”
"In addition, Ha Xuyen arbitrarily used her documents, there were signs of forged signatures and illegal handling of assets."
“If you want, this goes beyond divorce.”
I raised my head to look at him.
"I want."
No hesitation, no softening. On the third day of admission, I was discharged. Not because it has completely recovered. But because I don't want to continue being passive. In this game, I must be in charge. The day I returned home, I called both families to come. Bui Tranh was also present. As soon as the door opened, La Thai Anh was sitting on the sofa peeling apples. Seeing me, she froze for a second and then immediately changed her expression.
“Do you still know the way back?”
His voice was full of fake resentment. I didn't pay attention and walked straight inside. My father walked right behind. He stepped forward and directly took the knife and apple from her hand.
“Today is not for you to act.”
My mother helped me sit down, her eyes were red and she couldn't hide it. The day I was admitted to the hospital, she almost fainted on the spot. Ha Xuyen arrived last, and as soon as he entered, he saw Bui Tranh. His expression immediately darkened.
“Why did you bring the lawyer home?”
