Chapter 9
Chapter 9 — I'm Not A Loser
Bui Tranh immediately played the next recording.
"This child is probably a girl, why waste money on raising it?"
"Wait until she finishes dealing with the house and then divorce."
“You are pregnant with a boy.”
Each sentence rang out, like a slap hitting them in the face. The judge's face became increasingly cold. Ha Xuyen finally couldn't sit still anymore and stood up.
“It's not like that, they joined together to harm me.”
Bui Tranh looked at him, his eyes unwavering.
“So what about this part?”
Immediately afterwards, the recording provided by Bach Vy was played. Ha Xuyen's own voice rang out clearly.
“Her documents are at home, very easy to get.”
"Mortgage the house first, wait until she gives birth and then calculate."
“The daughter let her raise her, and the son thought of a way to get it back.”
The entire courtroom fell into absolute silence. Ha Xuyen's face turned from red to white, then gray. La Thai Anh suddenly stood up.
“It's all fake, it's all fake.”
The judge banged his gavel on the table.
“Request to maintain order.”
A stern voice rang out. In the end, the verdict was made very quickly. Consent to divorce. The verdict was announced very clearly, each article was like a nail. The house belongs to me. The debt arising from arbitrarily disposing of assets and forging signatures was borne by Ha Xuyen himself. La Thai Anh must be held responsible for pushing a pregnant woman, causing threats of miscarriage, according to regulations. After the baby is born, the right to raise it directly belongs to me. If Ha Xuyen wants to visit her child, she must get my consent and do so within the scope of the law. When I heard the last sentence, the string that had been tight in my heart for so long... finally loosened. But as soon as I stood up, my lower abdomen suddenly contracted. Immediately after that, a warm stream flowed down my feet. Duong Duyet was the first to react, his face pale.
“Du Sinh… you are about to give birth.”
Her voice trembled. When I was pushed into the delivery room, it was still raining outside. The sound of the rain was very loud, pouring down non-stop. But my heart felt strangely quiet. Maybe because today... I've tried too hard for too long. The pain rose in waves, rushing like waves. Images appeared in my head. Lunch box full of sea cucumbers. The piece of paper had three words written on it: "capital loser". Blood stains in the hospital hallway. Ha Xuyen's gray face on court. Scene after scene passed by, finally stopping at a single thought. I have to bring this baby… into the world safely. At two forty-six in the morning, the baby was born. Is a little girl. When the nurse brought the baby in front of me, the baby winced and cried loudly. I looked at my child... tears suddenly fell. Not out of self-pity. It's because of relief. Like a rock that weighed me down for so long... it was finally lifted. I named my child Du An. Residual in “residual”. Peace in "peace". On the third day after giving birth, Ha Xuyen arrived. Don't go alone. He brought along La Thai Anh. The two people stood in front of the hospital room door, as if they had aged ten years. After Bach Vy handed over all the documents, his company also discovered that fake contracts were used to withdraw money. He was suspended from work. Debt came, the mortgage failed, and no one returned the money that was used to save face. Only then... did he know he was afraid. As soon as La Thai Anh saw the baby, he wanted to step forward.
“Let me see my niece.”
I hugged Du An heart, not moving.
“Don't come near her.”
Her eyes turned red, then suddenly burst into tears.
“Du Sinh, mom was wrong.”
“Mom is old, confused.”
“Please give the child the last name Ha, I beg you.”
I looked at her, my eyes unwavering.
“Didn't you say she was a loser?”
"Since it's a loss of capital... don't take your family name."
She was choked up, unable to say anything. Ha Xuyen finally spoke, his voice clearly hoarse.
“Du Sinh... I have nothing left now.”
“Can you not be so cruel?”
After listening, I just found it funny.
“You have nothing left… because you did it yourself.”
“Not because of me.”
“There's more.” I lowered my head to look at the daughter in my arms.
“She is not something that belongs to the Ha family.”
“He is my child.”
Each word fell, decisively without hesitation. The order restricting visits that Bui Tranh requested in advance has taken effect. Security quickly invited them out. The door closed and the hospital room became quiet again.
