Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — I Tear Up The Script They Wrote For My Life
Tan Hao let out a roar like a wild beast. He realized... He had fallen into the trap I had set. He went completely crazy. He pulled my mother over and held a knife to her neck.
“Everyone get out of the way!”
He frantically shouted outside.
“If not, I will kill her!”
He used my mother as his final hostage. Truong Chan's voice continued to echo from the loudspeaker.
"Qin Hao! Calm down!"
“You have no way back anymore!”
"Think of your parents! They're still waiting for you!"
“My parents?”
Tan Hao burst out laughing like a lunatic.
“One person is a murderer who plans to kill someone.”
“One is a useless cowardly accomplice.”
“They deserved to go to hell a long time ago!”
“I will drag that woman's daughter along to bury me!”
The blade in his hand tightened even more. On my mother's neck, bright red blood began to flow.
“Hua Dien!”
Tan Hao stared at me.
“Don't you want to win?”
“Don't you want to see me lose?”
“Now I let you choose.”
“Or your mother.”
“Only one can live.”
“Who do you choose?”
He threw me the cruelest choice. He wants to see me in pain. Want to see me torn apart. Want to see me pushed to the edge. That is the "great ending" he really wants. I looked at my mother. She was also looking at me. There was no more calculation or greed in her eyes. There is only endless regret and begging left. She was telling me with her eyes... Choose me. Perhaps before the boundary between life and death... She finally regained some sense of a mother. I took a deep breath. Then he raised his head and looked at Tan Hao.
“I choose me.”
The voice is not loud. But it's extremely clear. Everyone was stunned. Including Tan Hao. Including Tuong Anh and Truong Chan who were listening through an external communication device. Even my mother looked in disbelief. Maybe she didn't expect me to be so "selfish".
“What did you say?”
Tan Hao thought he heard wrong.
“I choose myself to live.”
I repeat every word.
“She's not worth me dying for.”
“She colluded with outsiders to take over my property.”
"She sold me out just to buy a wedding house for her grandson."
“She even watched my boyfriend and my best friend rolling around in my house…”
“But there was no reaction.”
“Such a mother…”
“What reason do you think I have to save her?”
Every word I say... Is like a knife stabbing into my mother's heart. Also stabbed straight into Tan Hao's heart. He saw himself in me. A child was also hurt by his mother. Mother sees her as a tool. Trembling slightly. I continued to look at him.
“If you want to kill her…”
“Then just kill it.”
“Just helped me solve a big problem.”
“Waiting for her to die…”
"I can rightfully inherit all the assets in her name."
“Ah yes.”
“There is also a huge amount of insurance.”
“I really have to…”
“Thank you.”
I looked at him and gave him a bright, genuine smile. Tan Hao was completely dumbfounded. He had imagined countless reactions of me. But he never thought of this reaction. Even... My reaction was completely out of his script. For the first time… This “director” lost control of the plot. He began to doubt himself. Doubting the "revenge" he has been pursuing for so many years... Does it have any meaning in the end? The moment he lost god. I'm moved. I grabbed the document bag from the ground and used all my strength to throw it straight at his face. At the same time shout loudly:
“It is now!”
On the factory roof, a dark shadow passed by. It was a sniper who had set up an ambush beforehand. A dull gunshot rang out. Tan Hao's wrist holding the knife immediately exploded with blood. The knife fell to the ground. Almost at the same time... The factory door was broken open. Truong Chan led a riot police team to rush in like a tidal wave. In just a blink of an eye... the dazed Tan Hao was pinned to the ground by the police. It's finally over. I walked in front of my mother. She was still tied to the pole, looking at me bewildered. The eyes are extremely complicated. I said nothing. Just take out your phone. Right in front of her, I pressed the play button. On the phone, there was a recording of the conversation between me and Tan Hao just now.
“I choose myself.”
“She's not worth me dying for.”
After that, I gently said something to her.
“We have finished paying.”
