Chapter 6
Chapter 6 — My Husband Fake His Death To Hurt Me, It Ended Up...
Three days later, the Co family held a party. The name was to commemorate Co Mac Han, but everyone understood... the real purpose was for Co Chan to force me to give up my inheritance right in front of everyone. Luxurious banquet hall, sparkling lights, laughter and the sound of clinking glasses resounded continuously. I wore a black evening dress, stood in the corner, quietly looking at those fake faces. Snow White stepped forward, a familiar "concerned" look on her face.
“You standing alone here… don't you feel lonely?”
I swirled the wine glass in my hand, slowly turned around, the corners of my lips curved up into a deep smile.
“Snow White, your acting… is still the same.”
“That's a bit too much.”
Her smile paused for a second, but quickly recovered.
"Van Van, what are you saying? I'm really worried about you..."
“Worry about me?” I smiled softly, my eyes as sharp as a blade, "Snow White, are you sure you're worried about me... or are you worried about the things in my hands?"
Her expression immediately changed and she unconsciously took a step back.
“Van Van… what are you talking about?”
“Miscellaneous?” I laughed, "Snow White, do you really think I don't know... what role did you play in Co Mac Han's plan to fake his death?"
The surrounding air instantly froze. Everyone turned to look at us. Snow White's face became more and more pale, she bit her lip, her eyes panicked.
"Van Van, don't talk nonsense! Brother Mac Han is dead, how can you..."
“Dead?” I interrupted, my voice rising a bit, "Snow White, do you really think... Co Mac Han is dead?"
The whispers spread throughout the banquet hall. Everyone's eyes turned to me, surprised, suspicious, unbelievable.
“Lam Van, what are you talking about?”
Co Chan strode forward, his face gloomy.
“My son is dead, you still dare to talk nonsense here?”
“Nonsense?” I took out a file from my bag and opened it right in front of everyone.
“Chairman Co, look at this.”
He took it, just looked at it... His face immediately changed. It's a photo. In the photo, Co Mac Han stands in front of a villa, smiling calmly. The day the photo was taken... was the second day after he "died".
“This… this is…”
Co Chan's voice trembled.
“President Gu, your son is not dead.”
I raised my eyes, my voice was calm and cold.
"He only pretended to be dead... to get rid of me - the 'burden' - to transfer his assets, and then live happily together with the person he truly loves, Snow White."
The entire banquet hall exploded. All eyes turned to Snow White. She stood there, her face pale, so panicked that she almost lost control.
"No... not! This is slander! Van Van, you are slandering me!"
“Slander?” I took out another file and opened it.
"Snow White, this is your account statement. One month before Co Mac Han faked her death, your account received a large amount of money."
“The transferor… is his foreign account.”
Her body staggered, almost falling.
"Also..." I continued, "I looked up the conversation history between the two of you. When discussing the plan to fake your death... you two didn't bother to hide it."
I took out my phone and played a recording. In the quiet space, Snow White's voice rang out clearly.
"Brother Mac Han, have you really decided? Playing dead like that... Does Lam Van have any doubts?"
Tone Co Mac Han rang out coldly.
"No. I have arranged everything. She will become a target of public opinion, no one will believe her."
Snow White's voice rang out again.
"So... what happens after that? What about the legacy..."
His voice was low, carrying clear cruelty.
"Let her 'die unexpectedly' in despair. Then... all the assets in her name... will be ours."
The recording ends. The entire banquet hall fell into absolute silence. No one said a word. Everyone just looked at Snow White, their eyes full of contempt and indignation. She collapsed to the ground, her whole body shaking.
“No… not… I… I don't…”
“No?” I stood high and looked down, my voice cold as ice.
“Snow White, how long are you planning to act?”
She raised her head and looked at me, resentment flashing in her eyes.
“Lam Van… you… you dare…”
“What do I dare?” I laughed coldly.
“Dare to expose you people?”
“Snow White, do you really think… what you did was without any flaws?”
I turned around and looked at all the people in the lobby.
"Everyone, today I invited everyone here... to show everyone the true faces of Co Mac Han and Snow White."
"Co Mac Han never died. He just faked his death to transfer assets and then be with Snow White."
“And Snow White… was an accomplice from the beginning.”
“Three years ago, my company went bankrupt — because of his manipulation.”
“Three years ago, the surgery that almost took my life — was also arranged by him.”
“Now, he pretends to be dead, wanting to push me to death… so that Snow White can take my place.”
My voice is not loud. But every sentence, every word... seemed to be thrown straight into the hearts of everyone present.
“Unfortunately… I forgot one thing.”
“Currently, I am no longer the weak woman I was three years ago.”
I turned around and looked straight at Snow White.
“Is there anything else you want to say?”
Her expression was extremely unsightly, she bit her lip, her eyes full of resentment.
“Lin Van… you… you destroyed everything…”
“Destroy everything?” I laughed softly, my voice light but cold.
“No, I just… let the truth come out.”
I turned around and walked towards the door. Behind, whispers, discussions, mixed with Snow White's muffled cries rang out in chaos. I don't turn around. Just leisurely let out a sentence.
“Green tea… is still green tea.”
“No matter how good the acting is… it cannot hide the true nature.”
“Both fake… and despicable.”
