Chapter 13
Chapter 13 — Pregnant With Ex-Boyfriend
I tore up the agreement. Scraps of paper were scattered across the blanket, like a dirty snowfall.
“I want to meet him.”
My mother burst into tears and hugged me.
“He won't see you.”
I struggled, the wound hurt so much that my eyes went black. The nurse rushed in to inject me with medicine. Before my vision blurred, I saw Lam Nhuy An standing outside the door. In her hand she held a silver-gray bracelet. It was the bracelet I asked the nurse to give to Ha Duat Xuyen. I want to call her. But my throat felt clogged. When I woke up again, I was in the car going to the airport. My mother held my hand, her tone was cruelly gentle.
"The foreign hospital has already made all the arrangements. Tu Tu, forget everything."
I watched the street lights recede outside the window, tears silently falling. Wrists were empty. The child is lost. Ha Duat Xuyen is no more. A comment line that hasn't been seen for a long time now reappears. [The plot has been edited halfway successfully.] [Ha Duat Xuyen's side also received news, saying that Khuong Tu died of postpartum hemorrhage.] [But he picked up a piece of paper with a newborn baby's footprint, it seems like a plot hole has appeared again.] I suddenly widened my eyes. Newborn footprint paper? Is the baby not dead yet? I wanted to speak up, but the effects of the drug pulled me into darkness. As the plane took off, I looked out the window one last time. The clouds are so dense and heavy that it's suffocating. Ha Duat Xuyen. I never abandoned you.

Three years later, the day I returned home, Hai Thanh was pouring rain. I wore a red dress and high heels and walked out of the airport. The girl in the mirror looked radiant. Curly hair, red lipstick, when smiling, she is still the carefree little princess of the Khuong family. My friends all said I recovered very well. But only I understand, every year on my child's birthday, I lock myself in my room. Don't cry. Just sit there. Sit until dawn. When my mother called, her tone was a bit reserved.
"Tu Tu, the Quy family is having a party tonight, Van Chau is also there. The children are no longer young, it would be good to meet once."
I laughed softly.
“Mom, aren't you afraid I'll cause trouble again?”
She was silent for a moment.
“The old story is over.”
Is it over? There is no such thing as that easy. I was just about to refuse when suddenly a line of comments flashed before my eyes. [Don't refuse, Ha Duat Xuyen is also participating tonight.] My fingers suddenly stiffened. It's been three years. This name is like a needle, just the slightest touch will make it bleed. The comment stream continues to run. [He is no longer the poor boy who was plied with alcohol in the past. Half of the Quy family's projects were swallowed up by him.] [The project was withdrawn that year, he gritted his teeth, earned the first pot of gold in the industry, and then continued to flourish like a kite in the wind!] [Heard that next to him there was a three-year-old boy, who looked especially similar to him.] [Everyone said that that child was raised by Lam Nhuy An alone.] Lam Nhuy An. Three year old boy. My chest suddenly tightened. I said into the phone: "Mom sent me the address." At night, the banquet hall is brightly lit. Quy Van Chau personally came to the door to welcome me. After three years of not seeing him, he still remained gentle and polite, but his eyes were more condensed than before so many.
“Khuong Tu, you've become thinner.”
I smiled faintly.
“Young master is also old.”
He smiled helplessly.
“Your mouth is still as sharp as ever.”
I took a glass of juice, my eyes indifferently scanning the large hall. Actually, not indifferent at all. I'm looking for Ha Duat Xuyen. Quy Van Chau seemed to see through my thoughts and said in a deep voice: "He will come." I turned to look at him.
“Are you so kind now?”
He smiled bitterly.
"Now I work for him, it's better to please you than to offend you."
As soon as the words ended, the banquet hall door suddenly fell silent. Ha Duat Xuyen walked in. Dressed in a black suit, with a cold expression, his aura was so intimidating that no one dared to approach him. In his arms he was holding a baby boy. The baby wore a tiny suit, his eyes and eyebrows looked exactly like him. The glass in my hand almost fell and broke. The boy suddenly turned to look at me. The next second, the boy struggled to get out of Ha Duat Xuyen's arms and ran towards me.
“Mom!”

Mom. A call hit my ear, causing my whole body to freeze on the spot. The little boy ran to my feet, hugged me and refused to let go. The boy raised his small face to look at me, his black eyes shining.
“Mom, you're finally home.”
Everyone around gasped in surprise. I lowered my head to look at the boy, my hand slightly raised but I didn't dare touch it. The boy's eyes and eyebrows resemble Ha Duat Xuyen, but his mouth resembles mine. When I was little, my mother often told me that every time I acted naughty, the corners of my mouth would curl up slightly. So is the baby. I sat down, my voice trembling and unable to speak.
“What's your name?”
The boy blinked.
“Nian Cao.”
My tears immediately flowed. This is the name I gave my child at home when I was pregnant. Only me and Ha Duat Xuyen know. Ha Duat Xuyen stepped in front of me. After three years of not seeing him, he was colder and thinner than before. His eyes stopped on my face, as if he had overcome a long nightmare.
“Khuong Tu.”
I hugged Nien Cao tightly and stood up, my throat was sore.
“Who is the boy?”
Ha Duat Xuyen didn't answer, just reached out and grabbed my wrist tightly.
“Follow me.”
“Let go.”
The force of his hand was very strong, the bottom of his eyes were bloodshot and scary.
“Don't disappear again.”
My chest is sore, but in the end I don't struggle. The bedroom door is closed. Ha Duat Xuyen forced me behind the door, his eyes scanning every inch of my face.
“I'm still alive.”
My tears were still on my cheeks, but I burst into angry laughter.
“Are you disappointed?”
He suddenly hugged me. The strong hug seemed to want to crush me into my bones. I was so hurt that I took a breath of cold air, but I didn't push him away. His voice buried deep in the crook of my neck.
“They said I was dead.”
My whole body was shocked.
“Who said?”
“The Khuong family, the hospital, and even Lam Nhuy An.”
My heart is cold. Nien Cao stood next to him, impatiently pulling at Ha Duat Xuyen's pants leg.
“Dad, you're crushing mommy.”
Ha Duat Xuyen then let me go. I looked at Nien Cao, my voice trembling.
“They said I was gone.”
Ha Duat Xuyen pulled out a small piece of yellowed paper from his inner pocket. It's a piece of paper that prints a newborn baby's footprint. The edges of the paper were worn out, as if someone had taken it out and looked at it countless times.
“I asked a nurse I knew inside, secretly kept it.”
I covered my mouth, tears falling freely. He took out a stack of documents again. Hospital transfer documents, nanny's testimony, money transfer invoices for nursing homes abroad.
“I searched for three years.”
