Chapter 5
Chapter 5 — Pregnant With Ex-Boyfriend
Just as a little sweetness sparked in my heart, Lam Nhuy An spoke.
"It's a good thing that a broken mirror can heal. But Ms. Khuong's current health condition is quite special, her relationship is unstable, it can easily affect the fetus."
I can't laugh anymore. She closed the medical records, her tone still very gentle.
"I don't mean anything else. Many pregnant women, when in an unsafe intimate relationship, will constantly have their feelings hurt."
I was so angry that I wanted to stand up. Ha Duat Xuyen held my shoulder tightly.
“Don't move.”
His palm pressed against my shoulder, very firmly. But I feel even more sorry for myself. Based on what, she dares to say that the relationship between me and Ha Duat Xuyen is unsafe? I turned away without looking at the two of them. Before leaving, Lam Nhuy An called Ha Duat Xuyen out the door to remind him of a few more things to note. The two of them weren't standing close, but when she spoke, she raised her head slightly, her expression docile. It's so dazzling. I lowered my head and touched my lower abdomen, mumbling in frustration.
“Kid, if your father's eyesight gets worse, I'll take you to marry someone else.”
Ha Duat Xuyen walked in and just heard it.
“Marry who?”
I glared at him.
“Gui Van Chau.”
His face suddenly turned cold. My heart finally felt a little more comfortable. But in the next second, a line of text appeared on the comment screen. [Don't rush, Lam Nhuy An will quickly find out, the baby in Khuong Tu's belly may not be Ha Duat Xuyen's.]

The day I was discharged from the hospital, Ha Duat Xuyen kept a cold expression the whole way. He carried my bag, checked me out of the hospital, and fastened my seat belt. His actions were thoughtful, but his face was extremely unsightly. I held back all the way, and when I got back to the apartment, I exploded.
“Who are you making fun of?”
Ha Duat Xuyen put the medicine on the table.
“You said earlier that you wanted to marry someone else.”
"I was just trying to annoy you."
“You always have tons of words to annoy me.”
I'm speechless. After speaking, he went to the kitchen to pour water. I looked at his back, feeling confused. The words Lam Nhuy An said, the words in the comments, plus the sentence "not necessarily your child", all kept pounding in my head. I can't continue living like this. I opened my bag and took out the written agreement. Smash the paper straight down on the table.
“Sign.”
Ha Duat Xuyen walked out with a glass of water and glanced at it.
“What is this?”
“Reunification agreement.”
He put down the glass of water. I cleared my throat, trying to sound calm.
"Before the baby is born, we maintain a lover's relationship. You are responsible for taking care of me, I coordinate the pregnancy. The baby belongs to you, I will leave."
Ha Duat Xuyen stared at me.
“Belongs to me?”
"Don't you want to investigate? If the baby is yours, then it belongs to you."
“So what about you?”
My chest tightened.
“Of course I go to the Khuong family.”
The room fell silent for a long time. Ha Duat Xuyen picked up the agreement and flipped through the pages. His eyes were terrifyingly calm.
"Khuong Tu, you've already made arrangements for how to leave in the future."
I'm speechless.
"We are inherently incompatible."
He smiled faintly.
"I've said that before too."
I hold on tight to the edge of the sofa.
“Are you signed?”
Ha Duat Xuyen picked up the pen. I suddenly felt confused. Before the pen touched down, he looked up at me.
“I add a clause.”
“What?”
"During your pregnancy, you are required to live with me. You are not allowed to meet Quy Van Chau alone."
I frowned.
“You're too generous.”
“Then don't sign.”
I gritted my teeth in anger.
“Okay.”
He quickly wrote more terms and signed. The three words "Ha Duat Xuyen" appeared on the page, sharp as a knife blade. I also signed. As soon as he put down his pen, he took out a bracelet from the drawer and placed it on my wrist. Silver gray, cold. I immediately jumped up.
"Ha Duat Xuyen, are you a pervert? Do you still want to follow me?"
"The bracelet monitors a pregnant woman's health. Heart rate, sleep, body temperature, and any unusual symptoms will warn."
“What about positioning?”
He glanced at me.
“Yes.”
I raised my hand to take it off. He grabbed my wrist, pressing his thumb against my pulse.
“Khuong Tu, don't let me not find you.”
My heartbeat missed a beat. His voice was too hoarse, as if hiding a pain that could not be exposed to the light. I couldn't utter any more curses. I could only glare at him fiercely.
“Then you have to wear one too.”
Ha Duat Xuyen paused slightly. I found a spare bracelet and put it on his wrist.
“Don't think you're the only one who has the right to control me.”
He lowered his head to look at the bracelet, the corner of his lips slightly raised. That night, I lay in bed. Ha Duat Xuyen still slept on the floor. I turned over, hanging my arms over the edge of the bed. Waking up in the middle of the night, I realized my hand was being held by someone. He slept on the ground, his eyebrows slightly frowned, but his palm still held my hand tightly. It was as if if I let go, I would disappear.

At three o'clock in the morning, I was awakened by the pain of a sprained leg. My calf felt like someone had twisted it cruelly, and it hurt so much that I sat up.
“Ha Duat Xuyen.”
The person on the floor woke up almost immediately. He propped himself up, his voice still sleepy.
“What's wrong?”
“Leg pain.”
He lifted the blanket and grabbed my ankle. Instinctively, I cringed a bit.
“Cold.”
His palm was very hot, slowly massaging from the ankle up to the calf. The pressure is moderate, the pain gradually disappears. There was only a flickering night light in the room. The yellow light bounced off his eyebrow bone, highlighting his long eyelashes. I leaned against the headboard, looking at him bowing his head to massage my legs. This pose is too shady. When his fingers brushed the hollow of my knees, my whole body felt numb.
“Ha Duat Xuyen.”
“Yes.”
“Your ex-girlfriend is pregnant now, how attentive and skilled are you at serving her?”
His movements stopped.
“Don't talk nonsense.”
“Where are you talking nonsense?”
I deliberately used the tip of my foot to gently rub his chest.
“An ex-boyfriend provides such thoughtful service, it's hard to keep people from thinking deeply.”
Ha Duat Xuyen looked up at me. Those eyes were so deep and terrifying. He grabbed my ankles, tucking my legs back into the blanket.
"Khuong Tu, pregnant women don't tease around."
My face was hot, but I was determined not to admit defeat.
“Who teased you? I just Just testing your concentration.”
He suddenly leaned over. The mattress sagged a bit. My back was pressed tightly against the pillow, even my breathing became light. Ha Duat Xuyen leaned on his arm next to me, very close distance. So close that I could see the thin streak of water on his lips. His voice was very low.
“My concentration is not as good as you think.”
My heart was pounding continuously. But he only helped me push back the strap of my nightgown that had slipped down my shoulder.
