Chapter 19 — Seventy-Eight Billion And The President Has No Heir

The account was frozen right when I needed money to pay the debt.

The bank said it had an order to transfer 12 billion to a foreign company, which was flagged and paused by the system. I have never created an order. If it is not proven within two days, the share purchase transaction will be canceled.

Hoang Nam checks the computer. The order was generated from the IP address at Tan Cuong office, but the signature was authenticated using my device.

“They copied the key,” he said.

Vu slammed his hand on the table.

“I will suspend the entire technology department.”

“No,” I stopped. “If you do, they will erase your tracks.”

I called in an independent digital audit team. The leader is Khai Minh, who used to work with Hoang Nam, and has a habit of recording all system commands using an external clock. He discovered that the login data was seven minutes behind real time.

“Someone didn't hack into your computer,” Minh said. “They used a copy of the broker server that had been revoked.”

That copy belongs to my old company. I called Mr. Vinh, but his phone number was locked.

While waiting for the bank to process, Khang had to temporarily close the kitchen because of an article saying the restaurant used dirty money. The staff stood in front of the door, not knowing how to explain to the customer.

I wanted to give money to compensate for my salary, but Khang shook his head.

"Paying your salary with money won't solve the rumors. Please prove the source of the goods and the records."

He recorded his own warehouse video and made each invoice public. No need for a celebrity, just say what you do.

Two days later, the bank confirmed that the transfer order was fake. I was able to open an account, but the price for buying shares was raised by the competitor.

Vu suggested giving up.

“She had enough money to start somewhere else.”

"I don't intend to buy a corporation at any cost. But I also won't let them use a fake order to make me a loser."

We switched to the option of purchasing convertible bonds from small shareholders. Slower speed, but legal and not dependent on floor price.

That night, Hoang Nam received a parcel. Inside was my old employee card, written on the back in red ink:

“The person who signed for you is right next to the president.”

I looked at Vu. In the room there were only him, Hoang Nam and Khai Minh.

No one said anything.
