Chapter 15 — The Fateful Trial

Vuong Xao Tran said: *"If Le Le opens up about your family's kid, I won't be responsible."* Lam Mai said: *"You just bite Duong Hoa's family for me. He's most afraid of something happening to his children. As soon as the court summons comes, he'll panic. You ask for five hundred thousand, which isn't much."* Vuong Xao Tran asked: *"What if he doesn't pay?"* Lam Mai calmly replied: *"Let her husband advise. If he doesn't respect me, he must also respect the child's father."* Vuong Xao Tran's face blinked ashen. Phung Le Le looked at her in disbelief:

“Mom, have you discussed it with her before?”

Vuong Xao Tran's lips trembled: "Mom, it's just for me." Phung Le Le took a half step back: "I'm not for you. I'm for money." Lam Mai suddenly stood up, pointed directly at Tong Uyen's face and cursed: "You bitch! How dare you secretly record me!" Judicial police immediately stepped forward to prevent it. Tong Uyen didn't seem to hear anything, just stared at Ha Binh:

“Binh Binh, I'm sorry.”

Ha Binh's eye sockets turned red, but he did not approach her.

“Everyone said sorry. But no one ever asked me if I wanted to live like this.”

The boy turned to Ha Tuan: "Are you my father?" Ha Tuan looked up, tears falling: "Yes." Ha Binh nodded: "Then starting from today, I don't need you anymore." As soon as those words came out, Ha Tuan felt like his soul was drained. Lam Mai was about to call her grandchild, but the police had already stepped in front of her.

"Ms. Lam, regarding the issues of forged signatures, illegal use of personal documents and collusion to fabricate cases, please cooperate with the investigation."

Lam Mai's face was bloodless: "I'm old, my heart is not good." The police voice was very calm: "The health condition will be handled according to regulations. But all issues must be clarified." Tong Uyen was also asked to cooperate. Vuong Xao Tran and Vien Bin were also detained. The neighbors who had been watching outside the door just now were all bowing their heads. Mrs. Luu walked up next to me, awkwardly rubbing her hands:

“Duong Hoa, before it was because I had a big mouth…”

I didn't look at her: "Mrs. Liu, when everyone called my son a devil, he didn't even know how to call mom yet." Ms. Luu's face turned red and she shyly retreated to a corner. I carried An An and walked out. Ha Tuan chased after: "Duong Hoa." I stopped, but didn't turn around. His voice was hoarse:

"I know I was wrong. I will make up for An An's household registration. I will handle everything smoothly."

I turned my back to look at him:

"I can't handle it. Because from the moment I decided to hide it from you, I was no longer someone you could trust."

Ha Tuan's tears fell. The elevator door opens. I pushed the stroller in. When the door was about to close, Ha Binh suddenly ran from the end of the hallway. In his hand, he clutched the yellowed month-long photo. The boy stood outside the elevator, his voice trembling:

“Miss Duong, I know there is one more place that can prove that they have been planning to take action on the baby's identity for a long time.”

13 The elevator door is ajar. Ha Binh's voice wasn't loud, but it made my feet feel rooted to the spot. I pressed the button to open the door, looked at it: "Where?" Ha Binh was breathing very quickly, his bangs were sticky with sweat and stuck to his face.

“Ancestral house. Grandmother's old house. She has an iron box hidden above top of second floor wardrobe. There are a lot of documents in there. I've seen a copy of your ID card, my birth certificate, and even a piece of paper stating a waiver of resettlement benefits."

My fingers clenched the handle of the stroller: "Give up what?" Ha Binh's neck moved: "I didn't see it all. Grandma discovered that I was rummaging through the box and scolded me. She said it was something she signed and had nothing to do with you. But I remember it had your name on it.”
