Chapter 1
Chapter 1 — The Rest Of Your Life Is Sweet
The day I discovered I was pregnant, I immediately ran away in the night and even changed three phone numbers. I thought I would never see Hoac Tranh again in my whole life. Unexpectedly, as soon as I entered the delivery room, I saw Hoac Tranh standing next to the delivery bed. Hoac Tranh raised his eyebrows slightly. I'm so used to that look. Every time he prepares to settle accounts with me, he always has that look on his face. I unconsciously patted my stomach, crying without tears:
"It's done, my child, your father has come to collect the debt."
Hoo Tranh leaned close to my ear, his hot breath made my ear go numb:
"Debt matters gradually. Have children first."
The nurse next to him urged:
“Doctor Hoac, the pregnant woman's condition is stable, we can start now.”
I lay on the birthing bed, desperately closing my eyes. He ran away for more than half a year, but finally delivered the goods to his door himself. ## 1 I tightened my grip on the handrail of the birthing bed. Must try. There is still a chance to turn the situation around. My name is Tran My Giai, people in the world still call me the stubborn queen. Even if I faint in this bed today, don't expect me to admit a word!
"You're handsome, you got the wrong person."
I bared my teeth and rolled my eyes in pain, but I still didn't forget to turn my head and pretend to be stupid:
"I'm face blind, please change me to a female doctor."
Hoo Tranh didn't pay any attention to me. He leisurely put on medical gloves. Those hands with long, slender fingers have peeled crayfish for me countless times. Now I'm holding cold tools again.
“You got the wrong person?”
Hoo Tranh didn't even lift his eyelids:
“Tran My Giai, even if you turn into ashes, I will still recognize it.”
My heart suddenly trembled. It's really done. He called me both my first and last name. Obviously, the book was determined on the spot. My mind was running at full speed, trying to use my brain to figure out a way to live.
“I really don't know you!”
I firmly refuse to accept:
"I'm single! I don't have a husband!"
Finally, Hoac Tranh raised his head to look at me. His peachy eyes seemed to smile like nothing, making my scalp tingle.
“Single?”
His eyes lowered, stopping on my protruding belly:
“So let's figure it out, how many months is this baby?”
“Seven… seven months?”
I casually made up a number.
“So what?”
Hoo Tranh smiled coldly:
“Why do I remember this size for at least eight and a half months?”
I was stunned. Unconscious objection:
"Nonsense! It's clearly nine months and three days!"
The delivery room immediately fell into dead silence. The nurse next to her took a cold breath. I just wish I couldn't squirt a mouthful of carbonated soda mixed with salt into my face. If you're bad at math, don't argue with your teacher! Okay, tell me everything yourself.
“Oh.”
Hoo Tranh nodded, his voice cold:
“That's standard.”
I closed my eyes in despair. Try to play dead. At this moment, nurse Tieu Chau in charge of taking notes added another punch.
“Ah… Dr. Hoac.”
Tieu Chau held the tablet and weakly spoke:
“When ambulance 120 brought her there, her maternity record information was in the system.”
I immediately opened my eyes. Profile information? Tieu Chau swallowed her saliva and looked at Hoac Tranh:
"The emergency contact person is listed as... Hoac Tranh. The relationship is listed as... husband and wife."
Boom! It felt like a mushroom cloud had exploded in my head. Real life is over. This is it is a public execution with the clearest evidence. Memories suddenly rushed back. When I first found out I was pregnant, my mind was confused so I conveniently filled in his information in the file. Anyway, at that time I decided to change my number and run away, filling in a name to complete the procedure. Who would have thought that today that bomb would explode exactly right in my face!
“Husband and wife.”
Hoo Tranh slowly pondered those two words. The smile at the corner of his lips became deeper and deeper. But I felt the temperature in the room immediately drop several degrees.
“System error!”
I struggled in despair:
"Definitely the same name! There is no shortage of people named Hoac Tranh in this world!"
Hoo Tranh took a step forward. He bent down. With both hands propped up on the birthing bed, my whole body was covered in his darkness. Memories of more than eight months ago suddenly rushed into my head. That day, I held a two-line pregnancy test and excitedly ran to the hospital to find him. But when I stood outside the office door, I heard him talking on the phone. The voice was cold, without any emotion.
“Forget it, it's not suitable.”
“Let's talk about children later.”
At that moment, I felt like heaven and earth were collapsing. I, Tran My Giai, although not intelligent, absolutely do not have the shame to cling to others. I immediately took my luggage to the train station and fled that night, and immediately changed three phone numbers. Now you still have the face to question me?! A severe pain hit me, causing me to suck in a sharp breath of cold air. Hoac Tranh took the opportunity to lean close to my ear. Separated by a layer of mask, his breath was still hot, making my ears numb.
“We broke up for eight months, but you're nine months and three days pregnant.”
His voice was very low, carrying the meaning of gritted teeth.
“Tran My Giai, do you think I'm an idiot?”
