Chapter 16
Chapter 16 — The Six Year Lie
Gian Dien got out of the car, closed the door, leaned against the car body and looked at To Cam Xuyen. When To Cam Xuyen saw him, her steps stopped. "She won't see you." Gian Dien said. To Cam Xuyen looked at him, his face darkened: "It has nothing to do with you." "She is my girlfriend." To Cam Xuyen's hand tightened. Gian Dien said no more, turned around and went upstairs. To Cam Xuyen stood in place, quietly looking at the closed door. Gian Dien knocked on the door. Thinh Tri Ha opened the door to let him in. Tri An is located on a model railway station. Seeing Gian Dien, he called "Mr. Gian" and then bowed his head to continue pairing. While changing his shoes, Gian Dien looked out the window. To Cam Xuyen was still standing downstairs. He pulled the curtain back. “Is he coming again?” Thinh Tri Ha brought a glass of water from the kitchen. "Yes." Gian Dien received the glass of water, took a sip and placed it on the table. “It's the fifth day.” Thinh Tri Ha did not speak, sat down on the sofa, looking at Tri An who was attentively assembling the model. Gian Dien sat next to her, took out a small box from his pocket, placed it on the tea table and pushed it in front of her. Thinh Tri Ha looked down at the box, not opening it. "What is this?" Gian Dien opened the box. Inside is a plain ring. He looked into her eyes: "Thinh Tri Ha, marry me." I don't know when Tri An raised his head, still holding a puzzle piece in his hand, his sparkling eyes looking at the two people. Thinh Tri Ha looked at the ring for a long time. She raised her head to look at Gian Dien, her eyes were wet and nodded: "Okay." Gian Dien took out the ring, pulled her hand, and slowly put it on her ring finger. Tri An ran over, lied face down on the tea table, tilted her head to look at the ring on Thinh Tri Ha's hand: "Sister, what is this?" "Ring." Thinh Tri Ha said. "Why do I have to wear a ring?" Thinh Tri Ha looked at Gian Dien, then smiled and patted Tri An's head: "Because I'm about to marry Mr. Gian." Tri An opened his eyes wide, looked at Thinh Tri Ha, then at Gian Dien, and rushed to hug him: "Brother Gian, are you going to be my brother-in-law?" Gian Dien was stunned, raised his hand to pat Tri An's head: "Yes." Tri An happily ran around the living room. Thinh Tri Ha sat on the sofa, looked down at the ring on her hand, her fingers slowly closed and then let go. Gian Dien sat next to her, one hand placed on the back of the sofa behind her, quietly looking at her. PART 19 On Wednesday, after work, Thinh Tri Ha changed into a light-colored dress and stood in front of the mirror at the nurse's counter to fix her hair. Gian Dien said he would take her to a newly opened restaurant to eat today. She walked out of the hospital gate and turned onto the small road next to it. Recently that part of the road is being repaired, the fence takes up more than half of the sidewalk. She walked close to the sidewalk, the street lights were dim, the road surface under her feet was uneven. A blinding light shone from behind. She turned her head and saw a black car driving straight towards her. She dodged to the side, her feet tripped and she fell to the ground. The car grazed her leg, the rearview mirror brushed her knee, causing intense pain. The car accelerated, turned onto a small road and disappeared. Thinh Tri Ha sat on the ground. There was a large scratch on his knee, blood running down his leg. Gian Dien called: "I'm on the way, there's a bit of a traffic jam. Are you here yet?" "Jian Dien." Thinh Tri Ha's voice trembled. "Someone drove a car and hit me." On the other end of the line, there was the sound of hurried footsteps and the sound of a car door closing. "Where are you? Don't move, I'll be there right away." When Gian Dien arrived, Thinh Tri Ha was still sitting on the ground. Someone next to her asked her if she needed to call an ambulance, she shook her head. Gian Dien jumped out of the car and squatted in front of her. Seeing the blood on her leg, his expression immediately changed. "That car didn't brake at all, rushing straight towards me." Thinh Tri Ha said. Gian Dien helped her get into the car and drove straight to the hospital. All the way, he held the steering wheel tightly without saying a word. Arriving at the hospital, he registered for emergency treatment. Throughout the process, he always stood next to her, his hand on her shoulder, ever
let go. After treating the wound, Gian Dien sat with Thinh Tri Ha on the bench outside the emergency room hallway. He squatted in front of her, took off the bandage again, and said he wanted to check to see if the wound had been completely cleaned. "Jian Dien." She called out to him. He didn't raise his head, his fingers pressed against the edge of the wound. "You hurt me." Only then did Gian Dien realize he was using too much force. He let go and paused. He raised his head to look into her eyes, his eyes were red, his voice was very low: "Tri Ha." Thinh Tri Ha looked at him. "I'm not an ordinary cardiologist." Gian Dien said. "My family has a business in City C, not a small scale. Going to the hospital to study was arranged by my father. He wanted me to go out and practice for a few years. I didn't tell you because I didn't want you to feel like I was like To Cam Xuyen, hiding everything from you."Thinh Tri Ha was stunned and didn't say anything. Gian Dien placed her hand in his palm again, his voice very light: "Let me investigate this matter. No matter who it is, I will not ignore it." Thinh Tri Ha nodded. The next day, Gian Dien's people investigated Tham Canh Xuyen. Seeing this name, Thinh Tri Ha remembered that she had met him at the hospital. On the third day, Gian Dien brought the evidence in front of Thinh Tri Ha: "Tham Canh Xuyen admitted that Ha Giao Giao told him to do it." "Report to the police." Thinh Tri Ha said.
