Chapter 3
Chapter 3 — The Six Year Lie
To Cam Xuyen walked over, bent down to pick up Tri An from her arms, and gently patted his back: "Okay, okay, don't cry anymore." Tri An hiccuped a few times and then gradually calmed down, lying face down on To Cam Xuyen's shoulder. To Cam Xuyen hugged Tri An, turned to look at Ha Giao Giao: "Are you okay?" Ha Giao Giao shook his head, his eyes still red, standing still next to him. To Cam Xuyen handed Tri An back to Thinh Tri Ha: "Tri An is sleeping. I'll take Giao Giao back home, she's not in a good mood." Having finished speaking, he turned to Ha Giao Giao, hugged her shoulder and left the hospital room. Thinh Tri Ha put Tri An back on the bed, covered him with a blanket and sat next to him. Her hand still covered the red swelling on the back of his head, her fingertips gently squeezing. PART 4 Just after seven o'clock in the evening, the hospital room door was pushed open again. To Cam Xuyen walked in, behind was Ha Giao Giao, arms crossed and leaning against the door frame. "Tri Ha, Giao Giao cried all afternoon, saying you pushed her. Apologize to her, this matter is over." "It's not me who pushed, I'm not sorry." To Cam Xuyen frowned. Ha Giao Giao left the door frame and stood up straight: "Miss Tri Ha, you pushed me and you still don't apologize?" "I didn't push you." Thinh Tri Ha's voice trembled. "It was you who pushed Tri An. He was only seven years old, and had to have surgery the day after tomorrow. The back of his head hit the bed rail, causing a lump to swell." "Isn't Tri An okay?" To Cam Xuyen said. Thinh Tri Ha was stunned. Ha Giao Giao pulled To Cam Xuyen's sleeve: "Forget it, Cam Xuyen, let's go. My father talked about checking my position and he asked someone to take care of it." To Cam Xuyen did not move, looking at Thinh Tri Ha: "Kneel down, apologize to Giao Giao." "I don't kneel." "Tri An's surgery was arranged by me, it can be postponed at any time." Thinh Tri Ha's hands began to tremble. Previously, To Cam Xuyen took the initiative to receive treatment for Tri An, telling her to rest assured and let him arrange everything. She looked at To Cam Xuyen, then looked at Ha Giao Giao. The corner of Ha Giao Giao's lips curled up in a very small line. Thinh Tri Ha said very softly: "I'm dead." The hospital room was silent in the blink of an eye. To Cam Xuyen looked at her, his expression changed slightly. Ha Giao Giao burst out laughing: "Miss Tri Ha, just to avoid having to kneel, you can say anything." Thinh Tri Ha did not look at her, only looked at To Cam Xuyen. To Cam Xuyen was silent for a moment then turned away. Thinh Tri Ha's heart was completely cold. She pulled the blanket higher for Tri An and knelt down. Ha Giao Giao lowered his head to look at her, smiled slightly, took To Cam Xuyen's hand and left. Thinh Tri Ha knelt on the floor and did not get up. The door opened again. Gian Dien walked in, saw her kneeling on the ground and stopped. He didn't say anything, walked over, squatted down, took off his coat and put it on her shoulders. "Stand up." He said, but Thinh Tri Ha still did not move. Gian Dien did not urge him, just squatted next to him. After a while he spoke up: "I'll arrange Tri An's surgery. You trust me." Thinh Tri Ha turned to look at him, her eyes reddened, and slowly nodded.——On the morning of the third day, Gian Dien arrived. He pushed open the door and said to Thinh Tri Ha: "Get ready, surgery today." Having finished speaking, he turned around and walked out, instructing the passing nurse as he walked: "Inform the anesthesiology department, Thinh Tri An's surgery in bed number two in the pediatric ward will be performed by me." At the door of the operating room, Gian Dien turned around: "You're waiting outside." He pushed the door open and walked in, the red light turned on. Thinh Tri Ha stood in front of the door, leaning against the wall, staring at that red light. Four hours later, when Gian Dien walked out of the operating room, Thinh Tri Ha's legs were already soft. He took off his mask, his forehead covered in sweat: "It's successful." Thinh Tri Ha leaned against the wall, saying nothing, tears falling. When Tri An was pushed back to the hospital room, he was still sleeping. Thinh Tri Ha sat by the bed, holding his younger brother's hand, all night
no sleep. The next day, Tri An woke up and softly called her sister. Thinh Tri Ha leaned closer, pressing her forehead against her brother's forehead: "I'm here." Gian Dien came to visit. He looked at Tri An's indicators, wrote a few lines in the medical record and then closed the book: "Recovered quite well." In the afternoon, To Cam Xuyen and Ha Giao Giao arrived. Ha Giao Giao stood outside the door and did not go in. To Cam Xuyen walked over and said to Thinh Tri Ha: "There is a patient who needs a compatibility test. My blood type is just right. Go get some blood." Thinh Tri Ha looked at him, remembering the words she heard that day in the office. Ha Giao Giao wants to use her blood to treat her illness. "I won't go." Ha Giao Giao stood outside the door and said: "Miss Tri Ha, just take a little blood, it's okay." Thinh Tri Ha ignored her and turned to look at Tri An. To Cam Xuyen did not say more, turned around and left. At dusk, while she was wiping Tri An's face, a nurse walked in with a tray and said she needed to measure her temperature. Thinh Tri Ha didn't pay attention, took the thermometer and put it under his armpit. Not long after, she began to feel sleepy and her eyelids became heavier and heavier. Her head tilted to one side and she fell onto the edge of the bed. When she opened her eyes again, she was lying on the hospital bed, her whole body cold, her lower abdomen aching. Tieu Chu sat by the bed, eyes red, holding her hand: "Miss Tri Ha, the baby can't be kept."
