Chapter 15
Chapter 15 — Three Years of Patience, One Day of Flipping the Cards
Co Canh Tham's spine seemed to have been ripped out. The whole person staggered backwards. I looked at him. Cold eyes.
“When you let To Uyen Ninh slap my father.”
“The person you trampled on was not a poor old man.”
“But the person standing on the highest peak of this city.”
“Ever since then.”
“Only other people looked up to him.”
“No one has ever dared to slap him.”
I stopped. Look straight into his desperate eyes.
“Now…”
“He kicked back.”
I turned around and left. To Uyen Ninh's shrill scream rang out. Tien My Hoa's voice called her son's name in panic. The sound of people talking. The sound of a chair falling. The sound of a wine glass falling. But I didn't turn back. Take it once. Just walked out of the hall. The phone vibrates. It's a message from Luc Dao.
“I just watched the live news.”
“Tham Niem Khanh!”
“You kept it from me for so long!”
"Tomorrow if you don't invite me to eat the most expensive seafood in the city, you'll be fine!"
I laughed. Correct one-word answer: The second message came shortly after.
“Go home for late night dinner.”
“Your mother has stewed the ribs.”
I stood in the cold wind of a winter night. Quietly put the phone in your pocket. Raise your head and look up. The lights of the whole city stretch out before our eyes. On the Hoa Thanh Central construction site. The aviation warning light on the crane is flashing red. Then again. I took a deep breath. Raise your hand to call a taxi.
“Let me go to Tu Truc Garden area.”
"Okay."
The car blends into the flow of people and lights of the city. It also took me away from those three years of myth. The next morning. The news exploded like a flash flood.
“New owner suddenly appeared, Co Group changed ownership overnight!”
“The wife who left empty-handed turned out to be the new President!”
“The daughter of the richest man in the city endured three years and then turned the tables!”
Across media platforms. There are similar headlines everywhere. Although the details are somewhat misleading. But the core truth has spread everywhere. Co Group's headquarters was as chaotic as a bee hive. Co Canh Tham stayed up all night. Nine o'clock in the morning. He appeared in front of the company gate. But was stopped by security.
“Sorry, Mr. Co.”
“Your access has been revoked.”
He rolled his eyes.
“I am the Deputy General Director of this company!”
“Your position system has been adjusted.”
“New notice issued this morning.”
The guard's voice was very polite. There is no malice. But more politely. Makes people even more uncomfortable. Co Canh Tham stood in front of the building where he worked for eight years. But cannot enter. He immediately called his legal counsel. The other side was silent for a long time. Finally telling the truth.
“Canh Tham.”
“That divorce agreement has problems.”
“What's the problem?”
“From the looks of it, you get all the assets.”
“But if compared with the actual asset structure of the group…”
“The things listed on there are mostly projects that are carrying debt.”
“The core businesses are really profitable...”
“Had been separated before the signing.”
Co Canh Tham tightened his grip on the phone. Blue veins appeared on the back of his hand.
“You were also present that day!”
“Why didn't you stop me?”
“I saw the list.”
“And I think it's okay.”
The lawyer smiled bitterly.
“Because the project name on it completely matches the group's public information.”
“I didn't dig any deeper.”
“It was my mistake.”
He stopped. Voice more and more the heavier.
“But honestly…”
“Who would have thought…”
“A woman left empty-handed.”
“Why would you dig such a big hole in the divorce agreement?”
Co Canh Tham stood in the cold wind in front of the company door. First time in my life. He understands what it feels like to be helpless. Because until now. He just realized. The person who really left empty-handed... From beginning to end, it was never Tham Niem Khanh. It's him. After hanging up the phone. Co Canh Tham stood alone in the cold wind. On the glass side of the building. His reflection was as pale as a white sheet of paper. Ten minutes later. To Uyen Ninh called.
“Canh Tham!”
“Did she fire you?”
“What should we do?”
“Shut up and let me think.”
“What else are you thinking about?”
To Uyen Ninh's voice was almost crazy.
“Quickly find someone to take back the company!”
“And that bitch!”
“On what basis does he become President?”
“You sue him!”
“Go to court and sue him to death!”
Co Canh Tham directly threw the phone on the ground. The screen immediately shattered. But a few seconds later. He bent down to pick it up again. Then call Tien My Hoa.
“The Nham Niem Khanh House has never gone bankrupt.”
“Her father is Tham Hac Nien.”
“It's Tham Hac Nien.”
The other end of the line was silent for a long time. Finally, Tien My Hoa's trembling voice rang out.
“What...what did you say?”
“The richest man in town.”
“Founder of Cam Huy Group.”
