Chapter 3 — Weddings Without Brides

In the makeup chat group, the person in charge sent back the new schedule:

"Miss To will start doing hair and makeup at 4:30 a.m., and Miss Tham will be at the salon at 2:00 p.m. The two of you will use the same main makeup artist. We hope everyone will coordinate according to the new process."

I sent a message directly to the group: "Who agrees to share?" Half a minute later, the person in charge texted back: "Mr. Luc said he has finished discussing with you. After the ceremony in the morning, Miss To will remove her makeup, so she won't miss your afternoon work."

“What about my main wedding dress and veil?”

The whole group fell silent. The person in charge sent me a private message:

"Miss Tham, it's best for you to go to the wedding dress shop. Yesterday Ms. To tried on your main wedding dress, the size didn't fit, Mr. Luc has already signed a request to repair the dress."

When I stood up, my knee hit the corner of the table, and the countdown board fell to the floor. The white wooden board cracked in half. I didn't pick it up, grabbed the car keys and walked straight out the door. Before the elevator door closed, the makeup artist sent another message:

“The bottom of the dress has been cut off.”

Chapter 3 When I ran to the wedding dress shop, To Tinh was wearing my main wedding dress and walked out of the fitting room. Luc Tram Chu stood right behind her, bending over to help her adjust the bottom of her dress. In the mirror, two people, one white and one black, acted out the scene of the groom perfectly adjusting the bride's dress. The store employee was the first person to see me, his face immediately turned pale:

"Miss Tham... why did you come here?"

To Tinh turned around, the broken diamonds attached to her dress sparkled. I had to run to five stores to get that dress. The side was embroidered with a branch of lily of the valley, and the inside lining was embroidered with the letters S.Q. She bent down and caressed the embroidered words, smiling shyly:

"What a coincidence, your initials are the same as mine. When I put it on, I felt like this dress was made just for me."

The moment my heart ached, I discovered that the skirt of the dress had been shortened a bit. The long skirt that could cover three steps has now been cut by 4 centimeters. The designer once said that this layer of imported lace cannot be re-attached a second time, once cut off it can never be restored. I walked in front of her.

“Take it off.”

To Tinh's smile stiffened.

"Tham Kieu, I'm just trying it out. Tram Chu said you already agreed to let me borrow it."

“I said, take it off.”

Luc Tram Chu stepped up to block in front of her.

"Her back is full of safety pins, taking them off now would easily tear her dress. Please wait for the staff to handle it."

“If you're afraid of tearing, you shouldn't wear it in the first place.”

“Kieu Kieu!”

He lowered his voice, carrying a familiar warning:

"Aunt To still has to go for a check-up tomorrow. To Tinh's condition is very poor today. Don't provoke her here."

I looked at his actions of protecting To Tinh. After being together for five years, he only stood in front of me like that once when my father had surgery. At that time, our relatives were arguing about hospital bills, and he pulled me behind him, saying that if anything happened, he would target him. I used to think it was love. Now that I know it, he just enjoys playing the role of a hero protecting the weak. As for who had to be sacrificed, he never cared.

“I paid 58,000 yuan for this dress, on the order Please write my name clearly. Who gave you permission to fix it?”

The store manager hurriedly took the file and ran over.

“Miss Tham, I'm sorry. Mr. Luc correctly read the code to pick up the items and also signed the authorization form as his partner. We thought you two had discussed it well.”

“We have not registered our marriage, he is not my partner.”

The manager was stunned and turned over the repair order.
